Oh gosh I really wanna answer you but I watched it so long ago I barely remember. But as I know I think it was…
It is a high school senior and an adult man who owns a cafe. The high schooler is the aggressor, always pursuing the older man, who rejects him at first, until he cannot deny him any longer. They never say how much the age gap is, but the older man has had previous relationships.
Just rewatched and had forgotten just how much I loved this. They are such honest, straightforward, communicative, emotional, and affectionate characters. How could you NOT fall in love with them and root for them? They are so earnest. Same for Sun Bo and his beau. I love the affection, the comfort, the natural and realistic way these two couple are portrayed. Huang Chun Chih really embodies his character so well. It felt almost like I was eavesdropping on a real romance. I stopped watching at Ep 18, because I had already cried so many happy tears, I did not need to start crying sad tears.
When I first started watching BL, I "had" to go back and watch the original series. Everyone said it was what truly began the new craze for BL. While that show has MANY flaws, what I loved most was how authentic it was to teenage life and emotions. It has an almost documentary feel to it, for me - and Captain was perfect in his role. I also loved that we got to know so many of the secondary characters over course of the two seasons.
This version is very faithful to the original, thus far - if a bit faster paced. It's slicker and sleeker and more polished that the original. Knowing the outcome, I'm not sure I will stick around for the whole series, but it's well made and the boys show promise.
This is the next group of young men who will become this gen's TayNew and OffGun over the next 10 years as they mature and grow as actors. It will be interesting to see whose career thrives.
You ask for the impossible at this point. Think about how Taichi was growing up and who was there to take care…
And even in the last scene, Taichi gets so embarrassed when Kohei MOUTHS the words, 'I like you'. He is so shy and uncomfortable, he doesn't even know how to respond to NO WORDS. It's adorable and so true to his character.
Exquisite acting. Beautifully photographed. A haunting score. Filled with longing and anguish. The story telling was VERY economical. If the editing hadn't been so lyrical this would have felt rushed. The last episode did indeed feel so, as they had to cover a lot of ground to justify the ending for the "sequel/next chapter". The actors are GORGEOUS and their chemistry is unparalleled. Well done.
I'm so confused why this became such a huge story in the school. Two guys' parents got married. Big deal.
Thanks. I should have thought about divorce/remarriage. It's so common in the USA. If my high school gossiped like this, I would have been run out of school. :)
Benjamin Tsang is a STAR. I can't wait to see his career evolve. He's a great actor. He listens so intently and reacts authentically. It's a masterful portrayal.
The way tian instantly got a π after seeing wangβs π in the last scene π³π³π³
I was so grateful that they did this. Because teenage boys get morning wood. And teenage boys, when presented with the idea that someone else is aroused, get aroused. That's just what happens. (especially when you're secretly crushing on the guy). So thankful a series actually understands teenage boys and their hormones. (Plus it was funny AF)
Sweet, cute, fluffy. The age gap doesn't bother me, but I just couldn't buy this very hot boy with that sensei. I got 100% bromance vibes, despite the confessions and declarations of love. But if this was 100% bromance, I would have still enjoyed it. Taisei was excellent, and I look forward to seeing him in other series (hopefully with another cutie).
I was a bit underwhelmed. I love these two, but the script was lacking and at times totally laughable it was so unrealistic. But I love a good crime caper and a BL should make it even more interersting, so I'll give this a few more eps.
I should have dropped this one. It felt flat and uninspired. The whole premise of the special episode bored me. I did not like Taishin's character at all, and Takara was not much better. This one just wasn't for me.
