Lifeless is the right word. Everything feels lackluster, but Mac is just there without any emotions at all. The…
I agree. August has great charisma, which adds SOME life to his moments, but not enough so far.
On Addicted Heroin Aug 13, 2024
I found Ep 1 totally lacking in energy. If I didn't know the story I would have zero interest in watching this. So far there's no chemistry and Mac is lifeless. It does seem that Only and Tiger will be the second couple, which could be cute. But I'm not certain I can stick out these 10 eps. I'll give it one more and then see how it goes.
On Takara's Treasure Aug 13, 2024
I'm kinda done with this one, but since I'm more than halfway through the series I'll stick it out, but Turtle, I mean Taishin is NOT a favorite character of mine. The "what does 'suit each other' mean"? really got me. I can't believe anyone is this naive.

Title Takara's Treasure Spoiler
Can someone kind explain to me What does it mean from 8:45 - 9:30 in this week episode.Arigato in advanced.
I "think" (not sure) that Takara is explaining that he was starting to like Taishin and was wondering when Taishin would catch on. Taishin seemed to realize it, but then got scared and backed away from Takara, which made him annoyed. He was wondering how long it would take Taishin to catch on.

Watched the whole episode at 2x speed and he still was speaking slow, it saved me some time at least...
He's the slowest talker in all BL

That was very slight and had very little new to offer. Good performances, especially Tommy but major chunks of plot just rushed and no real time to develop character. Sweet and simple but I won't watch again.

y'all what's a twink? I've been thinking it is a slur word because of how Queen Maeve called Hughie a twink in…
Twink is gay slang for a man who is usually (but not always) in his late teens to twenties whose traits may include a slim to average physique, a youthful appearance, little or no body hair, and might be flamboyant.

It's ok. I don't really buy the whole premise. I know there are introverts in this world (even I prefer solitude to a crowded room), but in all my years I've never come across ANYONE as scared of life as the boys in BL. If I used BL as a barometer, I would say that 50% of all Asian men are petrified of EVERYTHING and can barely function in society. Diew makes no sense to me. He goes out into public every day. He's able to navigate it all, fairly easily. But he can't come face to face with his neighbor - who he seemingly trusts? And they're apparently in love in Ep 1, without having spent any time together. I fall in love easily, but even that's too fast for me. I find God's 3 friends all a bit over the top. I'd rather FF through their scenes, but I know there's a 2nd (and possibly 3rd) couple, so I have to watch. Not sure if I'l stick this one out, but Big is so dang charming I will give it a try.

Any idea of when the series will end? I've been so patiently waiting since episode 1 so I can watch it all in…

I agree with you with the “You’re mine” dialogue, but I have to say i have used the “he’s mine” dialogue,…
Yes, there's a difference in the meaning - and I totally get it.

Cute start. Like the workplace setting and the more adult characters/problems. Okuno So does a good job. I like the fine line he plays of naive and false bravado. I'm not a fan of "You're mine" type of characters/dialogue. People are not property. But it's such a BL trope. Do people really want to be seen as "owned" by their partners? Ick. Will be an interesting ride.

Everything is good, but I somehow feel like I'm watching a commercial for cologne or men's suits, rather than an actual series. Something about the editing makes it feel rushed and like i've missed portions. It's more snippets of a story than an actual story. It's hard to put my finger on it. Strong acting, though.

I love a rough little boy who doesn't even know how starved for attention he is. Can't wait for more.

I've also watched Part 1 3 times- but 2nd and 3rd I skipped bully Pete scenes and Kla/No and Tum/Tar- I doubt…
Yes, she has a very successful formula and that means a lot of people like that sort of writing.

Decent. Some compelling elements, that could have been really impactful in the hands of good writers. I just dont find Meen and Ping that strong. Ping looks constipated through the entire series. Meen has tremendous charisma, but his acting leaves me cold. A fan service ending if ever there was one. I won't rewatch.

I am delighted there are still 6 more episodes. I could watch these two and their growing group of friends all year long, and on through graduation. Seeing complex characters actually grow and evolve into better versions of themselves is so dang satisfying. Taichi is #1!

some might not agree with me but I feel like the movie has way more chemistry. yeah, the remake might have better…
I found chemistry in both movie and series. They have more time here, so it feels deeper but both sets of actors deliver for me. Taichi is always #1!

Title Love by Chance Spoiler
Just watched for the... 3rd(?) time. This was one of the first BL I ever watched and Perth/Ae was the perfect boyfriend I always wanted. But watching it now, a few years later, after the progression of BL, it feels so dated. If this was released today, I doubt I would have finished it. The dialogue is so repetitive. I almost want to watch it again to see how many of Pete/Ae's lines were "I'm sorry,/No, I should be sorry./No, I'm sorry" These two apologize for everything. "I think of you all the time... I'm sorry." NOT SORRY!

But what I do love is the great depiction of a young man coming to realize his feelings/sexuality. Ae's acceptance of Pete, his realization that he might have feelings for him, his surprise at his "morning wood", his online exploration. It felt very real. Similarly, Can's slow dawning feelings and allowing himself to imagine the "possibility" of MM relationships was handled well. I also applaud the coming out scene, expeically so early in the show. Still today we don't get many of these moments in BL and they are sorely needed.

I am still shocked by the "i cleaned up for you" scene (was that really necessary?) and still disheartened by the "are you still (butt) sore". Mame, please talk to some gay men about what gay sex is actually like.

STILL hate the Kla/No story. Normalizing stalkers/rapists is not cool - especially when you show rape trauma in another storyline. And the Tum/Tar non-consent scene was entirely unnecessary. I know it's Mame's style, but she really needs to think about the implications of her writing and characters.

Unfortunately, I think this viewing will be my last. If I need any goosebumps, I'll just look at memes of Perth.
