Holly fuck is it that bad???
It's pretty awful, but I'm also at my saturation point with BL. They have to be VERY good for me to stick it out anymore.

Loved it, top to bottom. Not what I was expecting and all in a good way. Fell in love with all the characters, even those without much depth were at least memorable. There's a lot of heart and a few tears. I'd watch again and want to watch the original very soon.

Finally got a chance to finish this show. What I like most is that it's a crime drama and the BL is secondary (though very prominent). Some ridiculous plot elements, and some really bad acting (poor sweet beautiful Tul. I wish he had the chops). But these guys have such charm and chemistry that they're fun to watch no matter how cheesy and outrageous the plot. I do wish the side couples had a bit more time, especially the Inspector and Oat, who barely had ANY time at all. Really hope Putter/Sorn gets his own BL one day soon. He could definitely pull off a lead role. All in all, a fun watch. Probably won't watch again, but that's because I know the ending of the "mystery". But I would watch the BL edit and I'll probably watch the sequel or whatever their next pairing is.

First episode was decent. Nothing bad about it. Nothing revelatory either. Watching this strictly for Ohm, whom I believe to be one of the best young Thai actors in any genre. Hope he's given some good material here to dig into.

Yes, "His" is another gem.

Title Approach to Love 2 Spoiler
Not as good as the first movie/season. Lots of unexplained elements you just have to assume. At times, couldn't tell if the couple was a couple or just in love in theory only. The teacher... looked and acted like a student, and didn't seem to have a job, or a girlfriend/fiance. He did nothing but spend time with the boy. And seemed to stalk him in a creepy way. Why make him a teacher if it's not going to create some tension? Wasn't sure if the friend was a friend, or more than a friend or wanted to be more than a friend. Just too ambiguous in the scripting. It's an odd story, told in a way that doesn't really allow you to understand the characters. A nice slice of life, but those don't always make compelling entertainment. Would have preferred some sense that he lead has grown and learned something on this journey. Again, the lead's personal charm goes a long way in creating a character that isn't really there in the material. Would not rewatch.

Liked it, mainly for the charm and innocence of the lead and his best friend. Sweet, naive, nostalgic. Felt low budget, but all done well. No real character development, but a cute look at first love.
On Restart after Come back Home Oct 21, 2021
That was beautiful. So heartfelt. Tender. Perfect in every way. Filled with loveable characters, who truly care for others. It made my heart swell. I loved this glimpse into small town life and the respect for those who make their lives and livings there. Made me long for a Grandpa to tend the farm with myself. The screenplay (or translation) lacked some subtlety but part of that I believe was being true to the culture and how people express themselves. I would watch again and again.
On My Sweet Dear Oct 21, 2021
I know this is a fantasy, but the whole premise is ridiculous. No one would think that two competing chefs in the same kitchen was a good idea. No self-respecting chef would stand for it. A Michelin rated chef would have just quit, knowing that he would be hired by any restaurant. But okay, I'll try to buy into the stupid premise.

That said, aside from cute guys and some decent chemistry, I found little to draw me in here. So far, neither lead is a likeable character that I care about. In fact, aside from being angry that he has to compete for his own job, we have learned absolutely zero about the lead character in 2 eps. Thankfully, this is a short series, so I don't have to invest too much. We'll see how it goes.

Very original and a story that needs to be told. I don't normally complain about the length of episodes and series, but with such heavy messages about trauma and the disorders it creates, I felt it deserved more time to explore these themes in depth, especially since Wu Zheng is mature enough to deal with them in an adult fashion. But still, I got the highlights of this romance and it was all conveyed very well. Didn't need the second couple, since they weren't allowed to explore their relationship at all.

I MIGHT rewatch again, but it's definitely worth an initial viewing if you're looking for something fresh and real.
On My Love Mix-Up! Oct 19, 2021
Adorable so far. Very natural performances, even in the extreme comedic moments. I like the slow dawning realization of both boys. A lot happened in the 2nd ep, but still felt like it moved at the right pace. Sweet, funny, super saccharine fun.

Title Kambyo Spoiler
This was amateurish. Too much "van driving through countryside" interspersed with "big idea we tackle in a topline manner". A couple of socio-political moments, a homophobia moment, an AIDS moment. But none of it is given enough time and weight to truly make an impact. Even the "reuniting with my one true love" didn't resonate, as it was reduced to a few cryptic sentences that then faded into the obligatory soft-core, love-making montage. A hopeful ending, but not enough to recommend this. Would not rewatch.

Nice tongue-kissing and muscled shoulders and backs, though in that one scene.

Well, I loved this. It was not entirely new or original. We've seen variations on this story countless times, but it was all well done. Acting and cinematography were excellent. Yes, it was ambiguous. It didn't wrap things up nicely, but that doesn't bother me if it was the intention.

I think the point was, love is complicated. And sexuality is fluid. There are no easy answers. Sometimes your friendship bleeds over into something more and then balances out again. I think Shane loved Jon so deeply that it confused him at times. But more than love, I think he "needed" Jon. Jon was his safe haven and his only friend. To lose that would have broken him. He was probably more straight than bi, but when faced with losing his friend forever, he had to act so Jon would know how much he loved him and that it went beyond platonic friendship. In the end, he spoke his truth. I think Jon understood and was relieved, while also heartbroken. He knew Shane would not reject him, but that they really did not have anything beyond the most intimate of friendships. That's real. And that's why I applaud this movie.

Now, yes, Shane and Carrie did not handle their relationship as well as they might have. But they were young, naive, needy and found the one person who they could share something with - and they acted on it, in a young, naive, needy manner. That might have changed SOME of the story, but ultimately, with or without Carrie, Shane and Jon would have felt the same - but they might not have had the courage to name it.

Worthy of a rewatch, although I'd probably pick a happier movie to give me the good feels.
On My Love Mix-Up! Oct 13, 2021
This was a nice surprise. Cute, funny, unexpected. They've all got such good hearts and that adds to their misunderstandings/complications. So sweet. Looking forward to the whole series.

Title 7 Project
Watched only the Bl eps, as well as Ep 7 for Perth alone. All were fine, but felt like I had seen these stories countless times before and none of them had anything new or particularly interesting to say. Also, the stories were so slight that none of them justified the hour+ run time. Could have covered all the important material in about 30-45 mins tops. The BounPrem ep was very confusing with the lack of consistent hairdo, which made me think they were jumping back and forth in time, but no, they just shot it out of sequence and didn't bother to even try to make it look consistent. Lazy and Lame, although both boys did a nice job. Santa is a nice new addition to the BL world. Hope he gets more roles. He was very strong, especially for being a newbie. All in all, I wouldn't really recommend unless you just need a BL fix. Many other, better shows out there.

So, i think each main characters resembles a "We Bare Bears" bear, Match being Panda, he is very into technology,…
Love this insight. I love We Bare Bears. Wish this was as good as that show.
On My Mate Match Oct 11, 2021
Couldn't hold my interest. I was fast forwarding through the first episode and that's not a good sign. Comedy was ok, but not enough. None of the boys have enough charisma or charm to hold my attention. Pacing was slow. I just didn't care about any of the characters enough to sit through another episode and find out what happens to them. Dropped.
On The Tasty Florida Oct 11, 2021
This is a minor effort. Something is just not clicking for me. The boys are beautiful and they have decent chemistry. I feel like they spend too much time on inconsequential things (like the cooking, instead of the relationships). I'm glad each episode is short, because it will be over before it starts to annoy me. Decent, but not at the level KBL have been recently.
