First episode was not very good.

Mediocre writing with all the familiar situations (let me tend to your insignificant wound, so we can stare at each other longingly! - and the same thing shows up again in the ep 2 trailer).

Bad dialogue (Do you know anyone who, after they have been mugged, would tell their concerned (and CUTE!) neighbor, "Nothing happened." Or after you express some medical knowledge and they ask if you're a doctor, you answer, "Don't ask that.", but later admit you're studying medicine).

Poor direction, slow pacing. Everyone looks like they don't know what to do and stand around like helpless mannequins.

The boys are cute, but flounder under the direction. This may be the show that makes me give up on Thai BL. I need MORE. Not the same thing rehashed again for the 100th time.

If you can call these guys a boy band at all. Their music and videos are horrible.

On another note... I wonder if these actors will have difficulty in the industry for even being in a show that exposes its dark underbelly.

I want to support this series for the serious issues it raises, but the writing is so bad. Have these writers ever had an actual conversation in real life, because some scenes are just ridiculous. I understand we need drama, and sometimes characters can't speak their whole truth to CREATE that drama, but these characters seem more like 5 than 25 (Bas/Ait are younger so I'll forgive some of their poor communication skills, but James behaves like an emotional zombie.) Thank God it's only 6 eps, otherwise I would drop right now.

Don’t sink to their level or you become one of them.

I liked elements of the series, but yet another series written by someone who has not done their research and dismisses character just to service the plot. A coach who hardly coaches, and new divers who act like they're in charge (including one who has seemingly never dove before, but is the best diver on the team after 3 practice sessions - that don't include any practical advice on how to dive.). The. leads are very good, excellent chemistry and I liked their bromance (wish it was more, but what can you do). But I couldn't sit through 30 episodes. It just dragged on too much for me. The abs! The abs, though. I'd kill for abs like that.

ARGH! The Flashbacks! I want to throttle somebody. This is horrible story-telling/directing/editing. The boys are good, and the story is interesting so far, but I would like someone to re-edit the show and remove all the flashbacks. Of course, each episode would be about 10 mins long, but I'm all for that!

Interesting in the BTS that Mark mentions another director and thanks 2 people, neither of whom is Mean. Hmmm.

Thanks for sharing. We can swap nightmare production stories some time. I have my fair share as well.

On a side note: folks here often say “give him a break, he’s so young” and yes, most actors improve with time. But Perth was like 17 when he did LBC (and I personally loved him in that) and Leo DiCaprio was 19 when was nominated for his first Oscar. Some folks got it, some don’t.

Of course. I just wondered how close to his real life it was.

I think that was the point of my initial post, although I may not have expressed it as well as you. We just don't know. His intentions are unclear. That's why I was surprised to see so many posts about him being gay when it's ambiguous. I'm excited to find out the truth.

All of which can be easily explained by his desire to please others. I think you’re reading more into it than is actually there but will be very interesting to see if his true feelings are ever explained.

Why is everyone on this board so certain that Da On is gay? I've never gotten that vibe from him. I always thought he was just being nice. Very nice. Inappropriately nice. Nice in ways that gave the wrong signals-nice. But I never once thought he was romantically interested in TK. I think he's straight and just got caught up in something without realizing what his behavior implied and how it affected people. He found a lost puppy dog and cared for it out of sympathy and pity and his general good (though dysfunctional) nature, until that dog mistakenly thought he was supposed to be with him.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but when I start a show, unless it's 1 out of 10, I'll finish it. Why? Because I always hope there will be a moment of redemption. And every episode brings new opportunities to delight... or not. I guess those "multiple negative comment" folks are just airing their frustrations. And everyone wants to be seen and heard. We all want validation. So they hope someone will share their views and validate them. But that's me psychoanalyzing people I don't even know based on random comments on a BL message board. Probably not a wise choice. I'll be quiet now.

And the flashbacks are unnecessary, don't add anything to the story or give you a special feeling. This episode could have been half the length.

@ammmz - Agree, it's collaborative to a point. And agree Gun needs lessons. But it seems you're a director, so... you shoot a scene with Gun and he makes these faces. Don't you pull him aside and say, "a little less grimacing"??? It may never be great, but you can make it less awful. A bad actor can only do what they are capable of, so it's up to the director to get the best performance out of him. And failing that, it's up to director/editor to find the best takes. "Hey, he's making horrible faces. Let's show him from behind with his body shuddering. The audience will still know he's crying." - I too have worked on shows where the actors were horrible, but then in the final edit it all came together. Ultimately, there's one person in charge and it's their responsibility.

While I agree with the MANY comments that the acting is not as strong as in other series, I'm gonna point the finger at the director. Something as glaring as Sky's gnashing teeth should have been called out and corrected by the director. He/She/Whoever approved it and didn't ask for a retake, so while Gun may be limited in his range, the director could have given him other options or chosen better takes. It's not all the actors' faults. And the director is the one who chose multiple slo-mo's and flashbacks within the same episode. Lame.

Everyone's opinion is valid. This isn't the "post only glowing reviews" board.

Was it great? No. It was good. Was it satisfying. HELL YES. So happy to see them all again and spend time with my favorite group of friends.

As everyone is saying, predictable, cliche story done for the 100th (or 100,000th) time. But if you like these characters, you will like this journey. And I LOVE these characters. While there is plenty of cliche dialogue, just when you wanna face palm they come up with a line that really hits home and makes your heart melt.

There are several plot holes, dropped storylines. The script was obviously much longer and had to be cut for time - but I wasn't expecting an Oscar worthy film, just a satisfying conclusion to one of my favorite BL stories. And I got it. I'm happy, satisfied and content.

This is a great group of actors. Even Tony, who was the weak point of the series, feels stronger and more centered here. I actually liked JC more in the series, but I think it was because he got to play so many more levels there.

The revelation for me here was JunJun. The writers really let him shine, and Miguel played the role very well. A great friend to everyone, even Crystal. Makes me wish for someone like him in my life (especially at 18). Plus, I don't know what happened to him in a year, but he just seemed a lot hotter. And I have to say, boy looked fine in drag. That crop top! Hello, Boyfriend, indeed!

Oh we got 2 more female characters - and they were nosy, intrusive, shippers who start spreading rumors without any real evidence. "They were holding hands the whole time" Uh, no they weren't. "Da-On is gay" - Uh... no one knows for sure for a few more eps, sis.

It's so f-ing creepy that people in BL go around taking sneaky pics of other people. WHo does that?
