Can you pls spoil me whats the plot and is this cencered
A character from a writer's novel is somehow able to come into his real life. They go back and forth between their realities and help each other along the way. There is bromance only, but I don't know if that qualifies as "censorship" or if it was just the intent of the show in the first place.
Don't know if Aam actually dated any of the 2Moons2 actors, haven't heard anything about it. But yeah, I do agree…
I only assume he had a relationship, because they say this series is based on his real life experience - but only the real people know what actually went on. And thanks for the link. Twas a sad but interesting explanation.
I loved this. Unusual story with a few surprises along the way. Cute and sweet bromance. They were so sweet together I wished for more, but very happy with the relationship as is, especially given the constraints of the premise. Good performances all around. All in all an enjoyable 45 journey into fantasy that is unlike the normal BL/bromance formula. I'll rewatch.
I don’t follow the Thai celebrity scandals. Do we know who Aam actually dated from 2Moons? (I assume it’s Kaprao since he’s got a role here). Do we know who was assaulted by the producer/manager? What came of it all?
First, exposing the dark underbelly of this industry is something that should be applauded. It takes guts to go up against an entire industry, so kudos to those involved.
But is this really the way the industry works? A director gets hired, sight unseen for a project days away from production? And he's hired to direct a BL series, when he doesn't even know what BL stands for? (I know there are many tropes in the genre, but is BL truly only straight male falling for straight male? There's NO other scenario?) Then he's told to lead a workshop, for a script he hasn't even read yet? No wonder so many BL series are poorly directed.
And while I know the management companies promote the false ships of their leads - do they really make them sleep in the same bed? There is creepy and there's CREEPY, and if that's really what goes on, it's ULTRA-CREEPY.
Unfortunately, exposing the problems of the industry is about the only good thing I have to say about this series. I liked 1 or 2 scenes in the whole 6 episodes. The writing was filled with all the worst BL has to offer. How many times in how many series will people ask questions and then be ignored and never get an answer? It happens here ALL THE TIME. "Is this really love?" "Why are you asking"? "Do you love me?" "Why?" Ugh. Grounds for dumping that evasive f'er, right there. But somehow NOT answering the question leads to them having sex. What?
Direction and editing were even worse. Pacing was glacier slow. Far too many ultra-long awkward pauses (again where people don't answer the questions - or worse, when they just stare off into space despite the person next to them calling them repeatedly). Totally useless shots and scenes... what did we learn about James from watching him primp with his hair in the mirror for 90 seconds?
I did not really care for the characters. Even Bas, who is given the most depth and has a truly horrible story to tell. They did not find a way to make him engaging. I wanted to care, but I didn't. I guess Marco had an unrequited crush on James. But his crying scene felt like it came from out of nowhere, so I couldn't empathize with him. Ait is foolish, childish, ignorant and borders on stalkery. James is pathetic. Shows no signs that he should direct traffic, let alone a series. How many times did his producer have to wake him out of his reverie? Directors are IN CHARGE! James was a lost puppy. And when on day one, you are told that directors/actors cannot date - maybe try to be a little secretive about it. These two practically flaunt it. If you're both so scared about the consequences, then try a little harder. Ridiculous.
Didn't buy the love story either. Okay, love at first sight. No real reasons for liking a person other than their looks and a general "feeling." I suppose it happens. And when confronted with the questions... "what do you even like about me", another classic answer. "Why are you asking?" BECAUSE I WANT TO KNOW YOUR FEELINGS, A-HOLE. But did not get any real chemistry between the leads at all. Ait was fine at being cute and flirty, but no true substance. James had zero going on. And Marco goes from being heartbroken to new potential BF in one scene. How much sympathy can I have for him when he is clearly not that affected?
I am curious to find out how they tie up the loose ends, but I'll just get that info online. I'm not going to bother watching S2 of this drek.
My issue was with the multi-generational homophobia. That's why I'm hoping there's a part 2 for Dew's story so…
I hear ya'. I think chances of a S2 are slim, since they are both working on their new series, but you never know. And I'm not certain I would come back after this.
I'm enjoying seeing both couples get closer and closer to confessions.
Bank, oh, Bank. Forget that Pitch guy. I'll treat you like the King you are.
And I'm sure this "camping trip/charity service" is a big part of Thai life -- but does it have to be in soooo many BL's? I mean, you've at least given us a relatively under-serviced premise with the bodyguard/mafia son idea, how about coming up with new scenarios instead of retreading this one for the 100th time.
I didn't thought Boat so hot up until he smile, and now in ep 5 he was extremly hot, he was taking all the episode,…
I always thought he was good looking, but nothing to write home about.... then he got drunk and doused himself in water and his curly hair really made him so dreamy!
I thought it was good too...the ending is ripe with possibilities. And the way Mew reached out with the text photo…
Lol. I’m not making anything up. The end is very clear. The last shot is of a boy crying his heart out.
You seem to think you know me. Lololol. I actually have a very positive view of gay life. I’ve managed to be very happy and fulfilled in mine, so obviously I know it’s possible for everyone.
But this writer does not believe that. I’m glad for you that YOU see a different ending. But I’m just responding to the actual show, not a made up version of a made up future.
Ps: don’t get your panties so twisted. I don’t care what you think about me either. Geez. Relax.
I enjoyed this until the very abrupt ending. I have no problem with sad endings. I love to cry. It just kind of slammed into a brick wall and ended, which threw me and ruined the experience for me.
War is so good. I hope he has a long successful career.
But characters are supposed to learn and grow. That’s the nature of a narrative. Start your hero in one place, put them through trials and then allow them to learn, adjust and either triumph or fail. I guess here we could say Best fails.
But what is the writer trying to tell us with this story? That gay love will lead to heartbreak. That’s it. That’s what Best learns. You can love, you can even BE loved, but you’ll end up crying alone in your bedroom in the end.
To me, that’s not a story worth telling… unless you’re a homophobe with an agenda. And it’s fascinating to me that an entire industry, writers, producers, networks are built around gay love when so clearly they are frightened and disgusted by it. So either the industry is full of hypocrites who (for profit only) will seemingly promote gay love while they loathe gays, or their agenda is to show the challenges of gay love solely to convinvce boys NOT to fall in love. Either way, I’m disgusted and disappointed.
I thought it was good too...the ending is ripe with possibilities. And the way Mew reached out with the text photo…
It’s interesting to hear your fantasies for their futures. I don’t look at it this way. I see the end as THE END. the story ends with multiple heartbreaks. Period. End of story. That’s what this show tells us in the end. Heartbreak is the outcome of gay crushes. Girls are spiteful, parents are cruel and selfish and being gay leads to heartbreak. I feel sad that the writer has this perspective.
I hate sad endings especially in BL series. Real life gay love stories are tragic as it is, why extend it in media?…
Real life gay live stories are TRAGIC? While many people still treat gays as “less than”, there are literally millions of happy gay couples in the world. Believe in the possibility and it can become your reality. Perpetuate the negative and that’s all you will ever see.
I'm going to get yelled at for this, but I don't think he's attractive either as a character or physically (he…
I am definitely getting an on-the-spectrum vibe from him. You're right, it's not fully realized by the writers and probably just accidental that he behaves like that, but he's just so clueless about life, there can't be another explanation (other than poor writing)
Watched the BL edit only. Cute. Good performances from the boys. Stretched some of the comedy a bit. Far too many "staring into space lost in thought" moments for me. Maybe the edit left out some crucial parts, but was surprised halfway through the show that JoonJae had a girfriend when there had been no mention of her before then - and especially since he's obviously smitten with Takuya the very first time they meet. But two sweet cuties falling in love was fun.
Cute, sweet, simple. Very basic BL formula. My only real problem is that - like in so many BL - they work so hard to make one of the leads unlikeable at the beginning so there is conflict between the two, then the change just feels abrupt and unrealistic. Who would ever fall for such an arrogant, entitled jerk and can someone like that really change so much?
Filled with tropes but still an enjoyable little piece of fluff worthy of a viewing. But as everyone says, there are much better Seasons in this franchise.
Art film project. Well done, except for the pacing. Too many of those long takes where a character just stands staring into space forever. I've watched a couple of times and tried to make sense of it, but can't quite (like everyone), but I get the gist of it and it's beautiful and quite touching. Would only say Bromance, despite the "I love you" line. Friends can love each other too.
The two actors do a very good job. But what has become of them both? They don't seem to have acted a lot (or at all) since this was produced. What a shame. They are both very good and very handsome. I'm so intrigued by Best/Ton's upper thigh tattoos. Would like to see more of those. And Champ's chest tattoo was gorgeous too.
The prequel was lovely, but the editing in this version was very confusing. It starts in the middle of the story, then goes back to the beginning so I got confused as to where they were in their relationship and why they were acting like they didn't know each other and even why Film seemed unclear. There were also random shots of Film on the court alone for no apparent reason. (I guess he was hoping Kong would show up???).
Solid acting in both versions (since they are essentially the same film just re-edited) but felt like they could have just combined these to make one 30 min film instead of 2 20 minute films.
And I agree with everyone, ruined by the trope at the end. (Has any gay man EVER met a guy who has said anything like this? I've dated a lot and even dated guys who claimed to be straight, but never has anyone said anything remotely like this. Is it solely so the fangirls can believe that Film will eventually go back to girls and choose them in the end?)
Something told me to watch this at 2x and I'm glad I did. Not bad, but just not something I felt needed much time or attention. So many stories to tell in such a little time that each felt like there were holes. Still, in all, there were some decent storylines and relationships. At times they did feel like real siblings and a real family, so kudos to the team on that. The much hyped homophobia was indeed odd, especially since the oldest sibling is also in a relationship with their trans(?) helper. But somehow that doesn't elicit the anger (although there are hints of it earlier). Felt like they could have wrapped up Markie's story a bit better. Not sure why they even needed the guy at the bar, since he had Daniel. Does Enzo only play gay roles? Surprising. All in all, decent and worth a viewing.

Such a sad waste.

Just watch the first one.
