lol. I doubt this theory. This is a turning point in the drama. The beginning of things going wrong for Zang Hai. He is what the marquis said he is - young and impatient.

The marquis was right when he called him young and impatient. The name Zang Hai mentioned as the third person is wrong. You can tell from the baffled look on the marquis face . That’s why he laughed cos he realized his son withheld the true name from Zang Hai.

The marquis revealed the third person to Zhixing but Zhixing told Zang hai another name. That’s why the marquis was surprised and laughed and called Zhixing a good son. The third person might be the emperor and that’s why the marquis is confident of surviving at this moment.

The marquis knows he is being played. But he just doesn’t know how. Too many coincidences. He is ignoring his gut feeling at this point.

It is the marquis aura. He has this intensity and charisma suitable for a protagonist. I find myself wishing he is part of the good guys.

He did the right thing. This is not the right time for romance please. Love is a distraction and a weakness. I’m even disappointed in Zang hai. Seems he learnt nothing from his training. I expected him to know better and not have to be reminded by Gao Ming.

Having a romantic relationship at this point is foolishness as it just creates a weakness and causes distraction.

He saved him for his own selfish reasons. If the marquis didn’t need him for his geomancy he wouldn’t have even left his chamber to see what the fire was about. Remember the courtier he cut his tongue out for no good reason.

In another drama the marquis should act the role of a general or lord who is on the side of the people, a caring father. He has the look for it. He has rugged good looks and good eyes.

He knows he is being played. Zang hai got close to him to get revenge. Zhixing basically said so. But because of his mother he is going along with his plan for now.

I don’t think he knew the prince would recognize it cos his identity is a dangerous knife hanging over his head. He would not deliberately reveal it to the son of the enemy he wants to kill.

Doesn’t make sense. They just want to make the villain look deranged which doesn’t make sense. This is not a horror movie for god sakes.
