I love the vibe the main couple is having. The one thing I could do without is Hiro acting as a spineless coorporate slave (unless that's actually a thing in Japan for adults), but I'm willing to overlook it.
The main couple was good, as was Aim. But many of the support characters were acting weird and out of character, also the students seemed to be doing more eating and getting drunk than studying. The "sis" character was totally over the top, but maybe he was asked to perform the role that way. ... Luckily Jin and Bomb were the most normal characters and managed to keep the show on track.
O wow, what a show. I really hope Korean schools aren't like that in reality though :-) I have never given a series a 10/10 before, but this show made me do it ... just wow. And the acting of Park Ji Hoon is just amazing! And the other (main) characters are amazing too: the pure-hearted Ahn Soo Ho, the mind-twisted Oh Beom Seok, the I-never-wanted-to-be-bad Young Yi and the I-saw-the-light Jeon Seok Dae. Jeon Young Bin being the bully did well too :-) So: great great great show!
I revised my score from 9 to 7.5, just because the last 2 episodes were so boring to watch. I truly believe the two main characters can make it happen, but ffs: why don't they? I don't feel the chemistry at all. I like slow pacing shows, but this is over-the-top-slow.
Again with the weird unnatural dialogues. Is nobody actually reading the script and correcting things before having people talk like that? Also - and this is very weird - it seems nobody finds it abnormal that freshly graduated police men get drunk on purpose ... And the person that died in EP2 (or was it 1?) just ... died, why would a police officer not take the results of a private investigation into account? They tried to resolve the mystery in secret (weird for a police school) and then - after getting caught - everybody just starts focusing on graduation. It seems they want the mystery of a murder in it and a weird supernatural thing too, but just start ignoring it each time. And then they get drunk ... again ... For me this is a no-go for now.
Dear God, this just gets more painful (not because o the heartache, because of the poor scripting) but I've invested…
Well, I'm glad I dropped it at EP 1. I saw the slow pacing a mile away, also I don't get why they always seem to wait a second (or 5) before actually replying ... that alone is enough to see amateurism at its best and is the reason why I started skipping lots of series
The whole "I'm shy" and "everything keeps interupting" parts are getting old pretty fast. I don't feel the romantic build-up I was hoping to see. At some point in ep 6 Kakeru suddenly replied with a more mature voice which all of the sudden changed the scene (for the better). But in all other scenes it's making me think of "Minato Shouji Coin Laundry" just a little bit too much ...
Sky is cute, but that's about it. I don't feel the magic between him and Kwan. The jealousy of Chalam is also weird (like if your father helps someone else, that person's daughter should be in love with you). But the main issue I have is the Sky's uncle is not willing to let him participate (both school and show) at first because 10 years ago his father died???? Circumstances aside, that's one long never-ending guilt-trip. Also, in the first episode Sky gets dropped in the middle of nowhere by Kwan and only *after* he gets of her bike and she drives away he realizes there's no school there. Like, really? It's like people looking in a small shoe box to see if someone is hiding there ... (and I've seen that in other shows already). I see lots of weak dialogues here ... it could be so much better, the show has lots of potential lingering just under the surface.
Max is cute as f* in just about every scene. I'm not sure about the chemistry between the two main characters though, I think Nat still needs to work on better facial expressions in my opinion ...
While the possessive and overprotective friend is not doing it for me (nor the absent brother who seems to only "exist"), I like the chemistry between Kanghan and Sailom. Although I think some actions are random or at least if feels like some steps/scenes were skipped (don't ask me why, it just feels like some scenes could need a little polishing), Perth is still making me believe it (and he's one of my favorite actors so yeah, that helps too :-) )
Where has this series been hiding all this time? This is a gem! Sweet love, great actors, just ... perfect. I don't give out a 10 often but in this case: 10 well deserved!
