It's funny, they act as if the series is a masterpiece 🤣 we will take a break so that the viewers, God forbid,…
You're far from alone in resenting the time spent on A-B-C and older bro, but honestly I think the main plot device for the main couple -- Team's trauma -- is on the verge of being played to death. It's not much to hang an entire series on. So I like the little detours when they happen, especially when they provide a little comedic relief from the excessive reverence for the main couple's story.
God, what an awful episode. As I predicted in a previous post, Gun and Golf would magically resolve their differences…
I think we're dealing with a production crew where everybody flattered everyone else into thinking this series would be a masterpiece.
Even the basics of storytelling get fumbled. Like, for the scene in Episode 13 where Nan introduces Chompu to his friends over dinner, instead of the nonsensical approach of having him suddenly do it after everyone has already been at the table for several minutes, just have him and Chompu show up a little later than anyone else and introduce her when they first approach the group. Nobody would sit there with his friends and fiancee for several minutes and not immediately say who she is.
In that scene what the writers were probably focused on is the introduction itself -- how marrying Chompu makes Nan look virtuous. So the idea of walking through his behavior in their heads to see if it rings true just didn't occur to them.
If you were meeting your friends for dinner and one of them brought his fiancee, wouldn't you expect him to introduce her at the moment you all arrived?
This dumb series would have us believe that Nan didn't tell the gang who Chompu was until after everyone got there and sat down, waited for the food to arrive, and started eating. What was Chompu doing in the meantime? Sitting there like a stranger who'd wheeled in from the sidewalk to ask for directions?
They want credit for including a supporting character with a disability but don't know the first thing about integrating her into a realistic narrative. Will we ever see Nan show any romantic affection toward Chompu? (By now I think a kiss is out of the question, but how about a hug?) And why does her brother have to tag along everywhere? After they get married will he set up a cot in their bedroom so he can sleep there with them? By now he should know there's nothing to worry about because Nan treats her like she's his sister, too.
And, speaking of a kiss that's out of the question: Em and Name. Next week is the last episode and they're still just pals. If by chance they become an item in Episode 14 it will be from out of nowhere. There's been no romantic tension between them aside from Name's stares of longing, and even those aren't really a thing anymore.
Golf and Gun resolved their issues by Golf bring up their childhood and asking Gun to marry him. And Gun, the damn fool, agreed! Just another way that this series rushes to give us "touching moments" but doesn't know the first thing about making them real.
But I will say, the moment when Golf took out the engagement ring to put on Gun's finger was very special indeed ... because the endless background music actually went silent for about five seconds. Holy crap!! But then here comes the acapella singing again.
And of course, because there's only one episode to go, out of nowhere Gun's dad gets all supportive and all of their father-son issues are resolved. The whole point of that scene was for us to see Gun start crying. I think the writers of this disaster think that whenever a character cries, the audience will cry too. And with this in mind, be ready for the water works next week when Champ and his dad have a good cry about Champ's grandfather. I can't wait to see the shrine that Champ's dad put up. Some parents will do anything to get their kids to stop hating them.
Btw, nobody cares about sulky Champ anymore.
The only thing I'd want to see for Champ is him getting together with Chompu's brother. Like Em and Name and Champ himself, he's never shown any romantic interest in anyone.
Any bets on whether they'll make us endure the wigs to the bitter end?
Sounds like your saying that BL is supposed to be trashy and not a masterpiece 😂
No .... lol
I'm saying that there's a lot of messy, low-budget series in BL, and to me it seems the percentage of those in BL is higher than in other drama genres. It might be because we are in an era where BL has become popular and certain studios are cashing in.
I don't think that's necessarily the case with this series. It's just that if people insist on every series being "great" before they'll keep watching, they won't have a lot to watch. And it's okay to enjoy some superficial entertainment once in a while.
The dance hall is the same room where Tan and Foei danced in Catch Me Baby, where Tan kissed Foei and confessed. Moving that piano next to the door doesn’t fool anyone. 😂😂😂😂
I've watched countless bl dramas for years and I have a handful of favorites (that I'm very particular with) but…
So true. It’s like the perfect answer to the constant push for NC scenes that push the limits. Those have their place, of course, but in a high school setting like this one just hooking pinkies is a major act of daring. The series conveys it so well, too. At that point I think we all melted.
Nueng needs some redeeming qualities, STAT.
I have to stick with this at least until we see Linus Wang shirtless.
And Nan has been abstinent for the years he's been with Chompu. He doesn't want to have to ask her brother for permission to bang her.

If you insist on every series being a masterpiece then BL is the wrong genre for you.
