I stumbled across Miseinen by chance today through a short and am currently watching it. I agree with you. Very impressive. Very emotional. I'm surprised by the series and that I've missed it so far. Looks like it's going to be in my top ten too.

How is it going, compared to S1?Edit: Thank you for the replies! Watching it now...
In my eyes, it is better than S1. The cast is consistently smart and somehow likeable and a really good mix. I like the group dynamic and I don't think there are very dominant individuals leading groups. I see everyone more as equals. The style of their play is different, but everyone is clever in their own way. In my eyes, they are all aware that it is a game, which is why there is more and more cheating, but it doesn't seem so mean to me like last season. Except maybe one thing in episode 4. I also find the games very exciting so far. The prison wing is upgraded and there are hidden things that are also very exciting. In fact, I think the cast together is so good that I'd like to see more of the group in games against "the system" rather than losing the participants one by one so quickly.

Didn't personally think the season would be better than S1, but now here we are. S2 is an upgrade.

THE HONEY SCENE OH MY GOD I AM NOT OKAY
Do you mean the one from the episode or the Black scene? If you don't mean the latter, you absolutely have to see it. Black Honey is art!

Ah, good to know :) You're welcome! Have you seen Futtara Doshaburi yet? Might be something for you too. It's also emotional, painful, vulnerable and complex. And it has an adult couple and corresponding problems.

I have to be honest, I really enjoy the narrative style. Time is taken to build up the characters slowly and in detail and there is an emphasis on small details in the settings.

It's a pleasure that the MLs don't meet in an artificially forced way. An accidental, completely natural encounter. An encounter about art that attracts you, makes you linger and brings up old feelings and memories. A mutual curiosity that lasts only a fleeting moment, a smile and the moment is past. And yet something remains that is not yet tangible. On both sides. You know it without being aware of it. Then another chance encounter....
Really great. The detailed development of the characters, the slow weaving into a complex storyline. I think that's really great. And I'm glad that the authors decided to go down this route. Very promising. I'm looking forward to next week. Just making a note for me: no breakfast while watching the episode, there could always be a random dude licking blood 😅😂

I would like to know more about Jin and his backstory too.
I could imagine that we will learn more about Jin in the next season...

This reminds me of Something's not Right. Both annoying. Do Ba Woo and Kim Min Jun are soulmates.
I actually think it's far better than Something is not right...

I am always surprised at how the series touches me on a deep personal level.

Saying goodbye to a beloved grandmother who understood Akin and his dreams, who really saw him, encouraged him and strengthened him with her trust. Their connection was so strong that he meets her even after he has said goodbye. The constant presence of her in Akin's heart. The person who made him the person he is today... I felt like I was traveling back in time today. It hit me hard. I want to take Akin in my arms and tell him: Not even death can take away a connection like that. This love will stay with you forever. And since your grandma knows this, it's not a farewell letter. The letters just change and you will know it!

And so today I vacillate between sadness and even deeper gratitude *sigh*!

Not sure you care but this is based on a very popular manga/anime; and much of the storyline is what is because…
Your welcome. Feel free to write me your thoughts after you've seen it.
I think the more experienced you become in life, the more you realize the complexity of different topics. I agree with etoks comment. (I read both your comments)
For example, I also know cheating from my own experience and dealing with it has made me far more understanding and open to the complexity of the issue. I was able to forgive and now have a very valuable friendship. However, as etoks also described, I think it's very important to differentiate and look at the individual case.

But, I would still doubt that viewers would assume directly from such a plot that cheating is ok. Younger people are usually much harsher and more extreme in their rejection and very strong in their black and white thinking. I can see that just from the fact that you often can't discuss this topic openly here and you are sometimes even condemned for a differentiated view... So I would doubt that their thinking would suddenly change if there was this plot. I would rather expect great resistance. What's more, in my opinion, people would be more likely to develop a differentiated view of the topic through confrontation at best.

Oh well, you've set the bar really high right from the start 😅🙈
Mmh... Let's see. There's another drama that touched me quite strongly and is a hidden gem for me. Maybe that would be something for you. It's called "DNA says love you". I found the beginning took a bit of getting used to. Towards the end of the series, it made me cry. And ML Amber is for me personally one of the most interesting, lovable and vulnerable characters in the BL world and in my eyes a very important character for the representation of the LGBTQIA+ community. I count the character as one of my favorites in the BL world. Just give the drama some time to develop.

Edit: Oh I just saw that it's Taiwanese and not Thai.... You only want Thai recommendations right?

Haha, no, I'm not afraid. :D But I think you're sophisticated and I really appreciate your assessment of series, especially because you have "a snarky, big mouth, strong opinions, and an attitude." and we can also (in my opinion) argue constructively and stay in contact even if we clash. I like that and that's why I respect you. In fact, it also develops my view of series and makes me reflect more. I like the fact that you challenge my mind, so to speak. That's why I aim to recommend interesting, good and perhaps different series so that you can have a good time.

Someone recommend me thai bls like this pls pls pls i love the vulnerability and how they handle shit maturely.…
The only other recommendation that I see on the same level in terms of emotionality is I told sunset about you. For me, it's the only Thai BL that exudes a similar vulnerability. But that's not really an adult couple... Otherwise, I'm sorry. Boom is outstanding and I don't think anyone can match him at the moment. I just hope that Top Form has laid the foundation for more adult coupels and their themes in the BL future.

Person Lee Jun Young
I saw your comment there and came here to see if others share your suspicions. 🤔
Yeah, seems like I'm the only one who thinks that 😅
But check out his profile picture on Insta and then about a minute after The Devil's plan starts. Just after the first players are shown.... In my eyes it's the same shoulder shape, plus the way the devil walks. I would even think the hands are the same.... I didn't mean to, but I'm now really trying to find evidence or counter-evidence for my theory 😅 But I feel so alone in the field...

Overall I like the series. Even though the "misunderstanding" plot is more common and the storyline seems simple at first, I think the portrayal of topics here is multi-layered and not superficial. I really like the portrayal of different perceptions of events and the different types of human relationships that can lead to misunderstandings when people meet. The lively exchange of different perspectives here in the comment section also shows me that.
I had the impression that there was a lot of reflection and discourse. I really liked that.

I thought the MLs were good together, they radiated a pleasant chemistry and a lot of warmth. Also, their love scene from ep.5 remains for me the best, because most natural, among the KBLs so far. I was able to empathize with both MLs quite well for different reasons and was able to understand their actions. Which is exciting, because I rarely have this balance of understanding of both protagonists in this form. But maybe that's also due to my personal life path. I like the fact that both are equally lovable and flawed for me and that I don't "choose" a side. This takes me to a different level of understanding. That's why the series leaves me with a very positive overall impression. Because I didn't just watch the series, I was able to engage intensively with the content.

The execution of the realization is debatable. For example, there was some context missing as to why they are falling in love again today, which has nothing to do with the idea of a relationship that failed in the past. Honestly, I found the wedding scenes in the last minute kind of unsuitable and cringeworthy. It was so random and could have been left out. Also, the series would have benefited from 1-2 more episodes for the final conflict, the resolution and an adequate outlook. After the slowness of the series, everything happened in a flash and suddenly everything was resolved. In my opinion, it would have been good to see the two MLs dealing with their loneliness. The sudden turnaround in MJ's actions seemed somehow incoherent. It takes more than a brief conversation with the best friend to turn anxiety into such courage. I thought the ending itself was fitting. But I would like to see a follow-up episode about how they grow into their everyday life together. I don't need the dream/the depiction of a wedding for the time being. (Really what was that?)So you could say that there is a lack of narrative style and available airtime.

The most defining moment of the last episode for me is when MJ says to JH: "Let me be free." Nothing describes an anxiously attached person who loves their counterpart better in my eyes. The trick is to convey this feeling in a relationship through security.

As mentioned earlier, I think the series should definitely be bingewatched. The low rating actually makes me a bit sad. Especially compared to other BLs ...

Same… Justin, Sohee & Kyuhyun. They have it all. Most fun is them: I can’t lie or pretend very well, and next…
Yes, I also found the backstabbing more unpleasant last year. Maybe because I have the impression that this year it's really more about playfulness. Although I found it unpleasant and cold how Justin was passed over in the last episode. The way I perceive him, he's now becoming a fair but consistent individual player...

In contrast to the residential group, the prison group breaks up. I like Kyuhyun's attitude when he said that they should work on breaking up the different camps again. I think he's a mediator for the group.

Yes, I also hope that they don't water down the series with too much romance or sudden fluff and continue with the raw tone.
I seem to feel the same way as you. I'm currently looking for series that break out of the BL norm box in some way. That seem more serious, more authentic. I think that's why I'm very open to that drama and see potential.

That touches me right now! 🥹 Thank you!
I have to say that I also found the beginning a bit difficult because so many characters were introduced and I didn't know who belonged with whom and how. Plus the Thai, Korean, English language mix. I found it all confusing. But towards the end of episode 1 I was drawn in because it became rougher and more real and the first psychopathic characters and entanglements appeared. I think episode 2 is stronger. As the story starts to unfold after the character introduction. I found the prison scenes there very real and well done. Now I'm not familiar with prisons (😅), so I don't know how authentic it all is. But it was enough to make me feel disgust and pain.

My guess: Lee Jun Young. When the season started and he came in, from the walk, the stature (e.g. also the shape…
I don't know, it was weird, the season started and the thought popped into my head when the devil came. I've been assuming that there's someone familiar under the mask since season 1, but I honestly hadn't thought about who it might be...
But besides the whole appearance, I think the role of the devil would actually be really good for Jun Young, when I think of his roles. Plus he's a Netflix favorite. For me, it's kind of totally coherent. Maybe it's because I like watching his dance videos and the way he moves. But maybe I'm completely wrong. 😅 I'd like to know if anyone else suspects other people, as I don't know many of the celebritys either. For me, the devil is too self-confident and nonchalant for a normal employee, so I'm thinking of a celebrity 😂
