I think as viewers we should keep in mind that the editing also makes a big difference. Ultimately, the producers also want a certain dramaturgy and certain controversial characters trigger emotions and thus generate reach. In this respect, the producers decide what we see through their editing and can therefore also manipulate our opinion, especially if we filter everything through our personal world of experience.
Oh, why not start and give it a chance? A lot has been invested in the production, which means there is a lot…
I think everyone has actors with whom they vibe more or less. That's not a bad thing. Just try it and you'll see if it appeals to you. And if it doesn't, that's not a bad thing either.
i feel like ppl are being a bit too dramatic ab hyungyu he is playing the game properly and attacking him for…
What's dramatic and unreasonable about calling him a cold player? I think everyone has their own preference as to what type of player they like. Some like this cold, seemingly ruthless type of player, others don't. Others like more emotional types of players like 7High or Hyun Joon. Still others don't like them at all. There's nothing dramatic about it.
I don't like the type of player that Hyun Gyu has shown in the last few episodes because I've personally experienced that this type of player becomes unpleasant when they see themselves in danger or lose and the fun is lost in games as a result. (Which is important to me personally) Often these are also bad losers. But I don't want to accuse Hyun Gyu of being like that, and I think you always develop through game situations. It's just my explanation of why I don't like this type of player.
I think the preference for a certain type of player always depends on what is important to you when you play. Some people will say it's all about winning. Others like the way to get there, which is filled with excitement and fun. I think it's good when there are different opinions here and everyone has different favorites. It makes a discussion much livelier.
I don’t know if I should start this :( I’m not the biggest fan of Nunew and zee… I couldn’t even finish…
Oh, why not start and give it a chance?
A lot has been invested in the production, which means there is a lot to discover visually. The idea is also interesting. It will be exciting to see how the story develops.
To be honest, I thought episode 1 was stronger than episode 2. A lot happened in episode 1 in terms of the story and the portrayal of the characters. Episode 2 rippled along a bit for me. I didn't find it as exciting as the content was probably supposed to be. But I think stories also need time to unfold.
I thought NuNew's performance in the first episode was strong, especially in his interaction with his father. In the 2nd episode I felt he was limited, but this is due to the characterization of the role. I hope that he will be allowed to show more of what flashed through in episode 1. Because I liked that.
Zee acts according to his role. However, the role conveys a limited image so far. I'm sure this character will break out at some point. So far, he could be described as somewhat expressionless. As I said, in my opinion this has nothing to do with Zee's acting ability, because he portrays the character well, but merely with the series character.
In episode 2, nothing really stood out for me in terms of acting/story, but I see it as a pretty solid episode to lay the foundation of the story. Visually, it's really nice to look at and I think the basic idea and the courage to go different ways definitely deserve to give the series a chance to be seen. I think you can tell that a lot of heart and soul has been put into it.
came here thinking I'd be amongst others who are not in favor of hyungyu, but it turns out it's the exact opposite.…
I think Hyun Gyu is a strong player, but I'm not a fan of his style of play at all. I prefer players with a style of play like Justin, Ji Yeong or Seok Jin from last year. While I could understand Hyun Gyu's style of play in the beginning, I think his will to win now is more of a reckless style at the expense of others. This is certainly more exciting for the dramaturgy of the series, but I find it unpleasant from a playing point of view. I've often read here that the others are like that too, because they've joined forces against him. But I see the alliance more as a reaction to his behavior and not necessarily because he is the strongest competitor. But I can imagine that he will come to a point where he will question himself.
I personally liked the last exit game, for example. Everyone knew what it was about, it was played consistently, but it remained human on a fair level, so that the exit was sad, but the player who was eliminated and the player who was responsible for his elimination were still in each other's arms, without any resentment.
Think it's quite solid, unfortunately I don't really vibe with the series! But I liked the MLs relationship with the succulents. Way too underrated little plants 🤭
I saw your comment there and came here to see if others share your suspicions. 🤔
By the way, when I search for his name on Netflix, The Devil's Plan is displayed in 5th position, he has participated in all the series listed before that and DP and MeloMovie are listed behind it...
In my country (in Europe), the series is also in the top ten at number 7, which surprises me. But I think it's…
In Spanish/Portuguese-speaking countries, I'm not surprised. Although 1st place is outstanding. But I think thanks to Traveller 2, KHN may have gained a few more fans in South America. But to be in the top ten in France, Germany and the USA is crazy. I don't know what it's like in France and the USA, but in Germany I still see KDramas as a marginal phenomenon. Because there's hardly any German dubbing on Netflix, for example, and very few people watch OV here.
Ok honestly Im a bit annoyed bc wdym we aren’t allowed to say everything? This a space for general public opinion…
I am of the same opinion. Constructive criticism is very important for filmmakers. It's the only way to correct your own weaknesses in the production, as you can sometimes become blind and fail to notice things. Getting warm fuzzies is nice. But a rating that is based purely on fandom ratings and where critical voices are silenced online is unlikely to go down well with the actors. You want to be recognized for your acting performance. If all episodes are rated 10 after just 2 episodes, I would ask myself what is really meant seriously. You can only grow through constructive feedback. As I said, criticism should of course be constructive. I don't know any artist who doesn't appreciate an honest, constructive opinion in any direction. I actually find the way the comment section here works somehow strange, telling people not to express their opinion. That somehow makes it no fun to read comments anymore, even though I actually enjoy doing so, regardless of the direction it takes.
Finally, my thoughts on who I think will win.. or more so who I want to win 😅I've watched until Justin's elimination,…
I share your view on Seok Jin. That's why I really wanted him to win last time. And I agree with you that So Hee and Ji Yeong have similar personalities. Although So Hee is more subordinate to the group in my eyes. Ji Yeong is actually the person for me. The one I most want to win after 9 episodes because of the way she plays (which I personally prefer)... (She also plays similarly to Justin.) I think in the final 4 are Hyun Gyu, Ji Yeong, possibly So Hee and Kyuhyun. The latter is somehow always lucky enough to sneak through 😅.
Hyun Gyu won the hidden game because he memorized 6x6 and 7x7. But So Hee solved it first and she discovered the…
Yes, I'm sure he got more. It should help him in the final. So it could be pieces, but that would be too easy. It would have to be something more like the poison in the monster game that weakens his opponent or strengthens himself. But I could also imagine a twist, e.g. that the person who throws him out of the game has to leave in his place and he himself is protected... As for So Hee, I'm with you. If it's tactics, it's not the best. But I also don't think Hyun Gyu will let her look at his cards. He's too much of a tactician for that. The next episode will be exciting. Who do you think will be in the last 3/4?

Agree. But after episode 9, I wonder if she won't break out after all. In the living area she sounded more strategic than I thought and for the first time it sounded a bit like she wanted to win. On the other hand, she allows herself to be influenced by many of the other players, as in the game in episode 9. Is she doing this out of conviction or because she allows herself to be led...? But maybe I just want to see her potential in that respect. As the show goes on, she becomes more and more of a question mark for me.
I would love to se Hyun Gyu ans So Hee in final match but I don't know if he will survive till then. 😭 They…
If they handle it like last season, the last game won't be complicated. I had to laugh last season when I saw the endgame because it was my favorite board game from childhood. If the producers take a similar approach to last year, the second game (with the wooden board and the colored pieces) could be the possible endgame.
Hyun Gyu and So Hee in the endgame would be really exciting.
My Week 2 Thought* Please dont be too serious on what I said, I just said what I'm thinking from the show, plz…
I find the exits tough for me this year because I like the group. But Justin's hit me the hardest. I actually also think the exit game between Harin and Justin was very exhausting, which I'm sure wore him out the next day. I actually liked the doubles game. I had the feeling it was a game of equals, everyone was fair but played consistently for themselves. I kind of liked the four of them together. And as sad as Tinno's exit was, I loved how 7high and him were in each other's arms. That was somehow a fair exit characterized by respect and friendship.
Justin and Tinno and my fav from the show since week 1. Now they both out, I now rooting for Jiyeong or Eunyu…
I think Justin's exit was a turning point for Ji Yeong. In my opinion, she adapted her style of play afterwards. I'm also hoping for one of the two women. But I think Ji Yeong has the better chance. She doesn't stand out as much and is well connected in both groups, but still plays more like Justin now. At least that was my impression during the doubles game.
It's just a game , the show's name is the devil's plan ,not the angel's plan,so the smartest , with the most wit…
Yes, of course I know Orbit. I prefer players like Justin or Ji Young. And I also thought that Ha Seok Jin, for example, was a different type of player in season 1. Sure, it's good for the dramaturgy of the show to have someone who can influence people well, but these people won't necessarily prevail until the end.
I don't like the type of player that Hyun Gyu has shown in the last few episodes because I've personally experienced that this type of player becomes unpleasant when they see themselves in danger or lose and the fun is lost in games as a result.
