How the fuck am I supposed to survive waiting a week between episodes for two whole months? They’re gutting…
They play with us like Wu Sou Wei with Chi Cheng 😂 Mo, Tue they let us taste a bit and from Wed we are rejected 😅 push and pull at it's best... So to speak, we are all Chi Cheng!
I think it's a shame we don't get an episode every day.... I like the couples playing cat and mouse 😁 The agony is Chi Cheng to watch and when Wu Suo Wei finally lets himself go, it's going to be a veeery long night 😅🤭
His ACTING is indeed BAD! The character,Han Jiwon, is supposed to be shy yes, scared yes, anxious yes, but Yeom…
Mmh So in terms of height, it's a good fit as a gymnast. Because gymnasts are usually rather small. In terms of athleticism, the choice of actor is debatable. What makes it rather implausible for me that Ji Won is supposed to be a gold medal Olympic champion is not the fact that he is not muscular. Because muscles can be trained and he is no longer active, which can change the physics of the body... What makes it unbelievable for me is that we don't see him doing gymnastics. Like in episode 3, for example, where the irritating cut was. Or generally seeing a photo of him in a sporting context. For me, however, this has nothing to do with the actor, but with the structure of the series or scenic decisions.
Personally, I see that it's Min Hyeok's first role, so I'm not as critical of his acting as others here in the comments. Especially because there are actors who have had far more roles, are very popular and definitely act worse than Min Hyeok. Portraying extreme shyness is definitely challenging, because very few people can probably understand how even the simplest things become an almost insurmountable hurdle... and that can also seem “played” in real life.
To the manhwa readers, did I understand correctly that Eun Oh and Seung Jin will also become a couple? With the end approaching, can I assume we'll get a 2nd season then?
In any case, I'm really enjoying the show and Jung Woo is one of the greatest BL characters for me. I like his clear and accepting nature, towards Ji Won, but especially towards himself and his sexuality. "This is me. I am normal. I'm straight forward. I love this man" Great. I love it.
But you like KinnPorsche and TharnType? That completely contradicts your statement... You like series in which…
Well, to be honest, I quite like looking at users' watchlists. 😅I'm always on the lookout for exciting BLs that I haven't seen yet and you can find hidden gems, especially among users with straightforward opinions on topics. Regardless of my own opinion.
But when I see that such a clear line is drawn here in the comments and that the watchlist then includes series with the same problematic content, I find it hard to hold back 😅
Ultimately, characters in the gray area do something to us. They scratch at our values and attitudes and in principle it's a great thing to talk about controversial characters. For example, you could have a controversial discussion about why such blatant boundaries are drawn for rape, but if a character is a murdering mobster (or someone who uses violence), that's sexy... Why is it easy to separate fiction from reality for one topic and not for another? So this could be quite an exciting exchange....
But you like KinnPorsche and TharnType? That completely contradicts your statement... You like series in which rape occurs and here you denounce the fact that such a problematic situation arises in which the main character is not directly involved. That makes the double standards happy.
Oh, that's somehow really good. I'm having a great time 😁 too bad I have to wait a week for the next episodes. They could bring 2 episodes every day for all I care... I'm really hooked!
Cha Eun Woo. for sure wont be, he is starting his army term this july i think
Yes, I know. The question is when Solo Leveling will be filmed... I'm currently watching Ball Boy Tactics and I have to say, since the end of episode 2, I can't get it out of my head that Choi Jae Hyeok would fit the role of Jinwoo pretty well. He has incredible screen presence and charisma and could portray the duality quite well... His gazes are engaging and he has a rather deep voice.... If you like, check out the series. Gets better from episode to episode... I'd be interested to know if others can relate to my opinion.
Admittedly, I wish the episodes were 5 min longer and I would see real sports from both. Especially as a basketball fan, I find it sad that nothing has really been shown so far. Also, the cut in episode 3 was disastrous. I thought it was a dream sequence at first. It all came out of the cold and more context would have been good here. Those are the two things that don't necessarily benefit the show. And seriously, the series deserves a bit more episode time.
The series is really fun and draws you in more with every episode. On the one hand, it uses certain stereotypes, but on the other hand it also breaks them, which becomes apparent from episode 3 onwards. The 4 main characters are all likeable and play their roles well. I like the subtle character of Eun Oh with his sensitive antennae. Jung Woo and Ji Won's development together, or rather the discovery of their identity and sexuality, is nuanced and at the same time lovingly and wittily portrayed. And I can only emphasize it once again: Choi Jae Hyeok has incredible charisma and presence on screen. He handles the micro-expressions incredibly well in my eyes and I can't get the thought out of my head since his engaging gaze in episode 2 that he would also fit well in the role of Sung Jin Woo in the live action of Solo Leveling...
In conclusion, I have to say that it is a very good decision to release 2 episodes per week. The creators of the series have done a lot of things right here!
Just found out about the series and saved it straight away... I'm looking forward to it. JJ and Net have caught my attention and to learn that there's a series coming soon that stars them and I get to see them on screen together for more than a minute is great. I hope it gets released soon! Looking forward to it 😁
I think a lot of interesting things happened in episode 6. Charan's backstory which not only revealed his trauma…
Yes, we have a different opinion. I don't think that much has really happened.
The investigation into Thatdanai was a blink of an eye. In my eyes, it could have been expanded. As it was, it seemed like a randomly added scene to me.
A lot of things about Charan are obvious. Like, for example, that he doesn't fence in public. That wasn't new information for me. In my opinion, not much is really known about Charan's father. And I'm convinced that Prince Wasin's backstory is important for the storyline. I also think that the trauma is connected to his mother, that was somehow clear for a while. As I said, I found the mother's backstory interesting. But artists in series always have a sympathy and interest bonus for me anyway.
As for Ramil and Paytai, they've had far more screen time than others so far and yet they couldn't catch me with their story. Their story simply doesn't interest me. Others may like the storyline, but it doesn't do anything for me. It just doesn't trigger any feelings in me at all. Ava, for example, catches me far more.
It's nice if you enjoyed the episode. It's great. I didn't find the storytelling and editing really strong this week.
I find it more interesting, for example, to question why all the women/mothers disappear in Emmaly. Are they really dead or trapped somewhere? Does the king hate women? Is there a prophecy about women in the kingdom? Or a conspiracy of women? The obvious absence of women in the story makes me wonder far more than other plot lines.
It really is childish behavior, but this "engagement" by these fandoms makes them feel like they are "contributing"…
Yes, you're right about that. I think such actions not only make these fans' own well-being worse, but ultimately they also damage the reputation of the whole genre in my eyes....
I also watch both and enjoy it and would rather exchange ideas about content, theories about the storyline, implementation, what was good, what could be improved. I really enjoy developing different theories.
Watching these constant battles and the discussions that only revolve around ratings, which are no longer even taken seriously, are simply tiring.
In my opinion, a rating for the whole series should be possible from the halfway point at the earliest... But I'm also not a fan of shipping culture.
Everytime a BL starts gaining popularity or praise a group of people mass downvote it and give bad reviews, this…
Yes, unfortunately there is a system to it. I've observed this with a lot of BLs... For a decent rating, it's always better if the series starts low key and gradually builds up its attention. You could see that with TopForm, but also with The On1y One. The phenomenon of mass downvoting is mainly found with highly anticipated series or very well-known ships. The most blatant thing I observed there was The Trainee. It dropped into the 6s after the start...
After reading some of the comments here, I have to say that I am somewhat irritated. I've been watching the massive downvoting (and upvoting on very popular ships) of BLs after the first episode for quite some time now and if the rumors that are being spread here are confirmed, I can only say: it's once again proof of how toxic BL fandoms are. Somehow these toxic fans don't begrudge anyone success. Sorry to say, but I find this a pathetic move. It's really sad. You should just be able to indulge and generally be happy about success in the BL genre... Envy and resentment are just pathetic. And if an MDL mod really called for active downvoting from the Next Prince fandom, I find that reprehensible for several reasons. Because it's a mod, but above all because after the first and second episodes there was so much complaining about downvotes in the comment section at The Next Prince...
For my part, I don't take MDL ratings seriously. Unfortunately.
I can only advise everyone to browse through the 7.x ratings, you can find some real gems there... Otherwise, it usually helps the series with the ratings if they start rather low key. Reset was unfortunately very much expected in my eyes. So the attention is right there and this unworthy show could begin.

I hope you enjoy binging, the show is really cute so far, lovable characters and great chemistry :)
Yes, let's hope that the LA really comes. 🤞
