I wanted that bear hunt as well. But what irritates me even more is how they made her use Sui guy to take rations…
yes lol, sometimes I'm reckless. Implied and tasteful is all fine but can end up too boring ... Implied and comedic is better.
Long ago, while LLTG had me hooked fingers and toes, I was grinning at Cheng Shaoshang being taught "tango" self defense after the bullying by the court ladies : with two arms, one arm, no arm.... π€£π€£ Ling Buyi crashing down on her full-bodied. Implied yes, but quite daring?
That's also why way back when,I loved Fairy Jinmi (played by ebullient Yang Zi , then very much like TXW nowadays) threatening innocently to cut off the big lump down there to cure the Crow (played by Deng Lun, hope he'll be back someday) in the beginning of Ashes of Love.
Or Qu Tan'er (played by Liang Jie) getting laid by 8th Prince Mo Liancheng with a promise that she'd get the divorce she wanted.... if he was satisfied by her performance (and of course he was not, so needed repeats π€£π€£)
Do you remember other near raunchy scenes in "serious" long or less long costume dramas ?
Since most of wuxia and xianxia and (actual or pseudo) historical take themselves too seriously, I end up liking best the totally tragic dramas like One & Only π Although I'd rather POJ gets a happy end. Because this lead couple looks soooo good on screen!
should i watch ep 26 now or should i wait for ep 27 π i don't wanna watch if it's going to end in a cliff hanger
You might wait until end if your heart can't take some "to be continued" end of episodes. Or take the doses several episodes at a time, doing something else in between : all options are open! I'm in for every day and if necessary, re-watch some episodes to while away time before "next". This one reminds me of the thrills I had watching LLTG, mock complaining also about the episodes dropping too stingily. It was quite an experience.
The battle scene was good, but it annoys me so much that they still kept FL slim and tiny. There is no way for…
She is Superhuman, born on Planet Krypton or the Amazon Goddesses isle, something. ... Anyway, she is NOT not the village folks she thought she was π€£ This is fantasy, not realism, and I enjoy every second of it much better than the "love games" or such ! It makes for visual amazed glee to see her tackle the giant villain like a flying hornet! (Reminiscing of scenes from vintage wushu movies of long ago).
Sigh.....here we go, something really popular and i cant get the app to work ....
Take heart, some said it took time because of ... too many connections. I trust you got in, finally? Can't reproach the drama for having too many views, can we? I logged in with a few minutes delay because of other reasons, and all went fine on WeTV my end.
The rumors about Changyu were soooo exaggerated, my goodness!!π
But it tied in with the things in the novel that screenwriters decided to modify. Quite successfully here : the bear, the heist of supplies from right in the enemy camp... Throwing in some smashing gates ( but after the battle, and her seizing the mace to end the giant, well, perhaps SuperWoman was really able to achieve such a feat?) Easy and shrewd to write it in as "legend" growing.
No, no no, he's still injured and recovering "in his tent", right ? π Though it will be hard for the marquis to claim he has a twin brother or something to continue the charade much longer.... And the SuperWoman has already agreed that if he was granted a marquis status she would be dumb not to stay as a marquis' wife π
WHAT THE FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKLKKKKKKK, WHAT DO YOU MEAN EPSIODE 27 IS STILL 24 HOURS AWAY?πππππππππππππππππππππππ…
hah, they got the long discussed bear in π€£π€£π€£π€£ and much more.... Thrilling episode 26, with the end so good β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ Can't wait till tomorrow hopefully with some proper kisses ?
Pursuit of Jade - romance, war and costume drama. Gives me thrills reminding me of LLTG which kept me on my toes for the 56 episodes, artificially split due to new regulations but released immediately in sequence like the "impossibly long dramas" that regaled us before authorities deemed 55-70 too long to be broadcast same year. It is not on your tbw list yet ? Very fast paced, but plenty of eye candy too.
I have added ZLH and TXW to my fave actors/actresses ever growing list. He is better than just good looking, and she is a spunky girl who surely will become an idol (already a big fan base). Looking out for her next police thriller drama "Born with Luck" which was announced to air on iQIYI March 22. (But still not sure, since was postponed from Feb. ) ZLH has two other dramas lined up in the future, plus perhaps a version of Heaven's Eternal Blessing where he would play Hua Cheng alongside Zhai Xiaowen as Xie Lian. But that one is 60 eps, and resolutely BL, so... probably not airing before the long awaited Immortality (starring Luo Yunxi and Chen Feiyu). Whenever those two will drop, they'll surely get huge cult following.
Zhai Xiaowen and Zhou Ye are starring in just released Dream of Golden Years on iQIYI which I also plan to pivot to while finishing here and with POJ . It's about rebuilding a life after time traveling back to the 1980s!
I like to vary my c-drama menus. Watching all sorts, including vertical dramas with Ma Xiaoyu and other new eye-candy guys. π€£π€£π€£ But also following my ever growing faves list's works, even if sometimes they get released with too much simultaneity : Bai Lu, Chen Feiyu, Liu Yuning, Chen Zheyuan, Huang Jingyu, Shen Yue, Seven Tan, Zhao Liying, Yang Zi etc. While tackling also unusual dramas like Escape From the Trilateral Slopes, Man's Inhumanity to Man, To The Wonder. (for which I wrote long Companion pieces, housed in Discussions section on the relevant drama pages). Watching whenever I have time.
Yes. If I got the story right Yan Ziwei is some sort of HKger or other overseas tycoon family scion, also married abroad in Europe, so perhaps had been raised and studied there in other language(s) like English first, losing touch with mainland speech, especially in Shenzhen where people spoke more Cantonese initially than putonghua.
She has no degree and never worked a corporate job... how did she get to be a CEO assistance π€£!? These dramas…
My sister, who did not even get her university entrance exam (bc of exam phobia resulting in massive panic, anxiety and allergy attacks) got hired in a leading news company because she happened to perfectly know word-processing at a time when few people knew the tools, in the 1980s. She got in through explaining that yes, she had no diplomas but let me show you what I can do, you could go about quicker using "those keys" together. The IT specialist was dumbfounded that she was more knowledgeable than him about the machines and software in that office. (I had my own editing business liaising with a Swiss academic papers publisher, with fully equipped word processing and OCR, laser printer units when people still did not know what a Macintosh was, and my sister got introduced to self learning there, proofreading, page setting, writers and publishing client handling, which gradually helped her get over her anxieties. But no diploma.). She got the job offer immediately at 23 years old, pay hikes quickly much above what secretaries got, was set to train new people, and went on as a high level PA with a handsome salary, still without a diploma - until she, many years later, got all those papers to spite her son and husband who were taunting her for her lack of "credentials".
So yes, working as a high end PA just on abilities was possible in the 1990s-2000s.
I wanted that bear hunt as well. But what irritates me even more is how they made her use Sui guy to take rations…
Why oh why? One released production did get steam on, in "The Forbidden Flower" all right (ok, not costume drama, not so-respectable ZLH but quite experienced not-dead yet Jerry Yan) despite all the cuts that audience went happily chasing.
And there are loads of minis with quite raunchy sequences, one of which, "Escape in the Dark Night", I thought might have perhaps influenced the sequence when Yan Zheng and Fan Changyu were miming wedding night for the nosy uncle and aunt π€£ EITDN is full of plot holes and it is ML Jesse Ren who holds it together, but it has become a cult ref of sorts nonetheless.
The director and screenwriters here have perhaps watched and laughed at the latter, and quite certainly must have watched LLTG.
Fan Changyu acted like a bandit raiding the mountain. When her hands were free and thinking of how Changning and…
wow, 72 chapters read! π I was out of sorts for months (not totally out of it), watching some very different dramas more or less attentively, listening to music, adding some OST links up in some drama pages). So I only skimmed a bit in the novel, and relied on trusty @C-DramaQA on YT to get explanations when I found the characters became too opaque even after peering at the characters relationship chart in Baidu and in Photo section. She's read the book and knows it all to minute details, but sums it up and adds in cultural explanations that are really nice. Still happy the book link was shared. Perhaps I will read it through, one day... Just love the way POJ drama goes. Reminded me at times of LLTG thrills.
@C-DramaQA has some interesting videos on YT, although the "short' format goes too fast imo, compared to her former long "companion videos" to the costume dramas she tackled. I discovered them when she did the three long videos for LLTG. Now she switched format, perhaps because her audience is now more on Douyin . Here are two, and if you have not come across them yet and are curious, want more, just check her channel : https://www.youtube.com/shorts/wQeWYeLcM0E https://www.youtube.com/shorts/TpGhACKUS3k (You need to use the pause button often to read those pages more easily).

braked... (like in motor racing?) ...broke? (like in the broken nose that snotty Sui villain escaped) I have a feeling that episode was simply cooked up to get the the food up asap, for adding comic relief (gelding threatened?!!) and a nostalgic ref to LLTG (girl throwing herself on general Ling Buyi being flogged). This drama should have had allowance for 60 episodes, perhaps -- but these days are over, sigh.
