Title Summer Strike Spoiler
My Country: The New Age has a kiss scene only two episodes in, I think.
I honestly feel bad for the ML's in her last 3 shows. Imagine learning your love interest in the show you are starring in is going to be Seolhyeon and then learning you don't get to have at least a peck on the cheek lol.

Did it? I watched that. Can't remember the scene.

I am starting to think Seolhyun has a no kiss policy. So many romance roles and only orange marmalade of all things had a kiss scene. Good drama though.

The name Naksu still has a lot of story relevance. So does Buyeon actually. Naksu = falling water. So the drought.…
Which makes most sense in context? There is an entire plot line around a drought where they will need rain. Bu-Yeon (empowerment) empowering Nak-Su (falling water) in order to bring forth rain and end a drought seems like pretty good context. Plus what was Naksu's signature technique? Tansu. It is an attack utilizing water.

No I hadn't read that before. And I suppose based on that your theory holds some weight. However, based on that I posit a different theory including both names since context seems to support both. The name Naksu was given by the people. Initially they meant it as "falling life" as the shadow assassin goes around killing people. It was a name they feared. However, Naksu will end up bringing rain through the empowerment of Bu-Yeon to end the drought. They will no longer call her that out of fear but out of respect and admiration. 落壽 becomes 落水 as she goes from taking lives to saving everyone. Perhaps I should write this shit. Came up with that one on the spot.

The name itself is not explained to mean "die" in the drama. As I already mentioned...Netflix subtitles are a third party. They are not official. Hongsis did not go to the Chinese translators and say "I intend to use this version of Naksu from Chinese" especially since that version of Naksu does not translate to Korean. It is for this same reason that when the KOREAN people in the show call her NAKSU they would not have the translation "die" in their minds. You are literally the only person I have seen since this shows inception attempt to translate it this way. All over Korea the accepted translation is falling water or raindrops. My translation is not made up. As I said. There are ONLY 3 ETYMOLOGIES for 낙수 in Korean from Sino-Korean.

Did you just quote a chinese wikipedia page??

The Chinese dubbing team can say whatever they want when dubbing for their audience. It is not the studio or the director that dubbs these shows. It is a third party.

The thing about puns is that the target audience needs to understand them. Puns are the most common form of humour in Korea. If Hanja isn't actually adapted to Korean meaning like what you referenced then no one will understand it. As far as the average Korean is concerned 낙수 has two meanings: a salty snack and raindrops.

I like both actresses though I have seen more works of jsm but I like them both
I only rated it the way I did because it is a 4 year old series so its rating no longer really matters. It was a great show except last 5 minutes.

You don't seem to understand...I expected a tragic ending. I thought he would go a more Romeo and Juliet style ending where they still both died but through suicide. It would have been sad but poetic. This ending though? The only people who won in the end was that stupid prick family. Let's introduce a character in the last episode played by a relatively famous old timer actor. Have him say very few lines (if any). Then have him not actually do anything but tell that secretary/bodyguard to kill the ML. Despite the fact that they already showed us he was torn multiple times when following orders lets have him go through with it and kill him anyways. Character development be damned. But first lets have the FL jump in front of the first gunshot! As if it would actually save his life. Then have him fire the second killing the ML anyways. Honestly I would have accepted the ending more if the old man showed up with a shot gun himself and actually pulled the trigger. Then the guy flees and the brother shows up who never actually gets to do his job as a cop! What was the point of him being a cop? At least let him walk in on the shooting as it is happening not 10 seconds after the guy leaves and catch him in the act arresting him. The last 5 minutes were a mess in terms of writing and story telling. Made me angry. Tears were there when they first died but they quickly dried up as my blood pressure rose in anger when I realized how stupid it was.

Rant over haha

WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST GET ME TO WATCH!!! Fuck I'm mad now lol... Tear up is an understatement. That was the saddest ending I have ever seen. It wasn't even a real ending. The stupid bodyguard is how the show ends??? Like at least end it with him and that stupid family's father getting caught. But no...nothing. No resolution. Just bam. Dead and end.

I doubt this would happen. I don’t think they would even have a chance nor time to awaken the fire bird so they’ll…
Unless the ice-stone is destroyed somehow in the process of it. Although theory 5 really doesn't require him to sacrifice himself. I just think it would be more poetic. Sad. But poetic. He could master the power that is basically equivalent to the ice stone that Master Lee mastered. (I just blanked on the name lol). But I think if he chooses to go down the path of using the ice stone to save her soul that for whatever reason he will have to sacrifice himself.

No lol. It has three sino-korean etymologies. 落穗 and 落水 and 樂受. The first means fallen grains and the second means fallen water. The third doesn't seem to match the plot but it is a pleasurable feeling. Of the name meanings it is one of the first 2 assuming Hongsis had a purpose behind their naming scheme. Technically both of the first two have agricultural applications.

I recommend you not make things up.

I have a very small request can they once call Naksu by her real name "CHO YEONG" before the drama ends please…
The name Naksu still has a lot of story relevance. So does Buyeon actually. Naksu = falling water. So the drought. Buyeon = amplification or empowerment. So her power will likely empower Naksu in order to stop the drought. Yeong = shadow. Under the shadow of it all exists the innocence of the once pure little girl that is now expected to live in the shadows under a different name as a shadow assassin.

With all her memories back (or so it seems) then yes she is Naksu (currently). Based on the name it feels like her name still has relevance to the plot. Falling water or falling grains are both synonymous with the drought. Her personality and nature is based off the way she was raised and the life she lived. There is no reason why she wouldn't see herself as Naksu when she hadn't lived as Cho-Yeong since childhood. Coupled with how proud of the name "Naksu" she was in Part 1. Like I said before... pretty much all of this assumes that the writers didn't simply choose these names as fun puns rather than them having an obvious story significance.

Both of Naksu's names are related to the plot unlike Buyeon. Naksu is related to the drought and Yeong is related to the title. Where as Buyeon is to amplify. So Buyeon will amplify Naksu in order to stop the drought. Assuming names actually hold the level of meaning we expect and are not meant just as puns.

sure...her body that she forced Naksu to occupy. Cho-yeong has always been used in the show and deserves a happy ending.

Based on these 5 seems very likely since they already suggested it as a possibility within the show. Number 2 seems to be a direction they are heading but other than which of the two he loves. He loves both Naksu and the personality currently in front of him as Jin Buyeon. But I don't think the personality he has fallen in love with is JBY but an innocent Cho-Yeong as if she never experienced what she experienced. So in essence he fell in love with two different sides of the same girl without realizing it. However I think that since they already set up that Naksu will disappear with 2 episodes left I believe something will happen as a twist. So dspite the direction of theory 2 being where it seems to be going I don't think it will happen in the end. The more I think about it 5 really does seem likely.

Well...it seems like with episode 8 we are heading in the direction of a sad ending with Cho-Yeong disappearing entirely and Jin Buyeon taking over her body again. Hopefully this is just a set up for a twist and we don't actually end up with a dead Cho-Yeong and Jin Buyeon in charge of the body but we'll see.

You're kidding right?? The entire Hotel Del Luna final episode had me in constant tears.
