Tysm for speaking up for her! She is an artist whom does not have any backing and better yet less influence on the production team. She is so easy going and I love her. I love CYI too. The production crew and writer screwed both of them and I am so pissed for both. You get two amazing actors together just to put them on a butcher block š¤¬. Now these black accnts or people targeting the FL for baseless claims just because plot did not go your way š.I am a major fan of the donghua so I was trying my best not to be as bias but after ep. 15 they completely changed the og story and wang Quan arc. Ugh, I think sometimes these production teams and writers likes to shoot themselves in the foot for making these changes. So I am hoping with the new regulations incoming will make sure better scripts are delivered to artists and they get the full script and not half.
Haha, different tone and different genre. FL is not a hopeless romantic and it kind of coincides with modern women…
Haha, everyoneās FL character preference is different. I personally resonate with her and enjoyed her. Itās refreshing to see the atypical noble lady behavior (similar to The New life Begins). TLOZH (The Legend of Zanghai), TG (The Glory), GOTDF Guardians of the Dafeng (hint of some humor) these are more on the serious side and based on novels. I personally couldnāt get into TPG The Princess Gambit.

His bitterness came from obsession and unwillingness to let go of past grudges. He wanted an outlet so he pinned everything on NH even when the evidence was clear (angsty and messy for sure). Song Yimeng executed her love-hate perfectly too. Itās just from our gods eye view and narrative we wanted her to resolve (her internal conlicts or knots in her heart) sooner b/c NH showed his sincerity no matter what identity. Her displaced thoughts and emotions always led her to act subconsciously vs consciously. I still stand by my thought that she was a perfectly flawed character inside a crazy, script that didnāt make sense from the beginning so we cannot take it too seriously like TPOB, TLOZH, GOTDF or TG (because those are more based on novels so story telling is crucial and accuracy) while this being an original copyright you can get creative and be as crazy as you want with the script, which allowed both the producer, director, writers and artists have the freedom to create but still maintain the theme or focus of the plot which is tackling prejudice, facing fears and becoming your own hero while tackling the different dimensions. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and having a discussion with me
oh gosh I almost gave up at Ep 26, and it will get messed up in the episodes ahead. Hold on until the end. Just…
Yes, totally aware of NH/Li16 appeal. But what I was getting at is the mere fact that the scriptwriter changed his character from the original script. He was no longer the cold, ruthless, killer prince whom wanted the throne w/his uncle who the audience cannot relate or appeal to. Instead, we got the protagonist that you speak of. And NH was more polished because the story wrapped more around his from the 1D script. I sensed that the script already geared off track after episode 3. And started realizing things were not happening the way she remembered the script. And how the details were already changing the original plot. But maybe, some audiences feel this way because we donāt fully know the original script details besides the iconic scenes vs the 2dimensional story that was being rewritten by the other scriptwriter in the 3D world. And she wrote the 2D scriptwriter in because his work was garbage so that he can get a taste of his own work, lol. Also, through the female scriptwriter she is basically writing the script as we are watching it unfold as well. So that most definitely plays into maybe why the plot to some did not seem as polished. But I think the timing of it all also has to do with the second script layer. Her awakening didnāt fully take into effect until the second writer in the 3D world changed her story.

Haha, the love and hate trope in all dramas always playing mind games with us when we want a straight forward relationship. But audiences like messy and angsty.
I'm on episode 23 now and 4 of the supposed "iconic scenes" have happened now and none happened the same…
She is a perfectly flawed character finding herself within a script. This is probably how the script wanted the character to be portrayed. Showing us that not all heroine is strong, noble, well-rounded and talented. If every FL character were the standard of what we expect what fun is creative writing. Thus, the deeper meaning to her character is we have a gods eye view of her while she has one on Nan Heng. We have prejudice/ bias over such characters without knowing their journey/backstory or the expectation that every FL should be a certain way or act in such a state. So her finding her true awakening within the script might not be everyoneās cup of tea but how do we know if it wasnāt the first scriptwriter manipulating her actions the whole time? She might have thought she was sober the entire time but not.
It wasn't for 'no reason.' The characters acted the way they did for much of the drama because that's the way…
100% agree with this comment. This drama was much more than just the laughter, the satire, making sense of the script inside the drama. Itās literally a script inside a script. And the events didnāt make sense b/c Nan Heng and SYM started changing the script. For all we know inside the original script were the iconic scenes not the details. Maybe some are more focused about what the original ridiculous script inside ADWAD was, which was written by the first scriptwriter from the first dimension. While others must have not noticed that the change in script started happening from the actual writer in the 2D layer. š š¤£ But the main point of this drama is basically poking fun at c-ent, tackling prejudice, Facing your fears and becoming your own hero/heroine. Itās brilliant and the acting was amazing!

Here we are as an audience pitying NH which is what the manager wanted from ep. 1 thus overlooking SYM and seeing more of her flaws. If the original script was kept we would have said the opposite. How this drama teaches us that we all have bias from our gods eye view too b/c we all have this standard of what a character should be like or what we want to see on the screen. But SYM and NH actually have similar backstories. Just one is more willing to resist fate and the other is too afraid of fate. Both sincere characters just being manipulated by the script and both redeemed themselves in different ways. They both deserve e/o
Watched this mainly for Liu Yu Ning. The romance and plot is not as good as The Prisoner of Beauty. (But hey,…
Haha, different tone and different genre. FL is not a hopeless romantic and it kind of coincides with modern women thinking now-a-days. I love this because they put a lot of thought in how a modern woman would think inside ancient text. But their interaction seems more natural. Loved TBOP, but it did not get me fully immersed emotionally and psychologically. Maybe itās b/c I have seen too many historical drama w/ similar storyline just different character plot lines (so it was predictable).

For real! And those who donāt see the deeper meaning to this drama are fools. Like itās a story within a story.…
Agree. I love the production, OST, editing and directing so far. As far as scripting goes it's messy but it's a script within a script. And all actors are portraying their characters very well based on that given time and situation of the script. Yimeng awakening as a paper man is slowly unfolding and is a journey. Like the director said "Books and Dreams" the first thing is to tear off the label and let go of prejudice. As the line in the play says, "Breaking the rules, ruining the fate". Secondly, through the changes of Song Xiaoyu and Nanheng, we also want to appeal to each of us in reality to redefine our self-worth, abandon the unnecessary labels imposition on ourselves by the outside world, rely on personal struggle, and "change our fate against the sky". This is the main point of the whole story but we are merely focusing on her action during one arc of the script. But I digress, NH and Yimeng story will be a tragic and complete one given all the short clips. And Nan Feng and Xiao Yu will unite to give us a HE.

She is in the state of love/hate and it was a subconscious reaction. In a state of high emotion one can be led to do something to harm the person you love when in your heart itās not what you intended.

Yimeng is a salted fish character that is made to grow with the script. So I hope that everyone will stay open-minded. B/c not all female characters are going to come off strong/clear headed like what others need her to be at every single turn. Letās be real human beings make mistakes and can be irrational in certain situations. She is an imperfect character inside an imperfect script.
