It allows you to feel the deep precious love and regret of the character. Also, how cruel fate can be no matter how good, righteous and honorable people are. The last thing I would note is that they didn’t change the main characters love story or otherwise we would not have a 3rd installment. Even if the world is in chaos these stories are beautiful because not every story is always perfect or the ideal situation.
