I meant "Educate yourself on this subject" not get education as I'm sure you're pretty educated. But again, you didn't address the real problem with the scriptwriting/storyline/plot holes and you don't want to actually question why so many people got SLS. It's your choice so I will respect that.
But if you go on talking about a certain character, analyze all of them and come with a fair conclusion about why so many people disliked the ML. It's nice to point the flaws on one of them, but it would be a biased thing to stay there.
I myself tried to keep it as neutral as I could and I only pointed the plot problems. Maybe with better written MLs the audience response would have been different. Anyway, I don't want to go on discussing this as I know I can't make you change your mind and for sure you won't make me change mine.
Go and study scriptwriting&storytelling basics. There were plotholes, ways of presenting the characters that were done the wrong way so it mislead people. If you like to observe and analyze, ask yourself how can it be that so many people got SLS?
The story was written that way, it can't be that so many people (I would go for a fair 50%) decided one day that they want the second lead to win the girl. There's always a small percentage of people in dramas that get SLS, but never to this exent. You can't go: "oh, it's your fault for expecting apples" when the story was build a certain way to create certain expectations.
Educate yourself and try to understand the reasons behind the reason. For me it was poor scriptwriting and I'm only grieving for the lost potential (Cyrano is a masterpiece with depth and moral lessons that set my expectations too high).
If you guys are bored as me, tell me who is your second lead in kdrama land keeping HJP aside? And why?
Boys before flowers.
But SLS never hit as hard as this one. Man, choose an amazing and charismatic actor, give him the background story and a big part of the storyline and boom: lot of people confused thinking HJP is the main lead (my sister thought it until episode 7 or so). This kind of SLS is different from the others.
I was kinda disappointed when other dramas dropped from 8.8 to 8.0/7.8 (and now they're back to the original raiting),…
At this point I don't even care about the ratings. KSH deserves all the love he can get, so with a higher ranking more people will fall in love with him. I'm excited to see him in his next project, hope he chooses one soon
I mean, most of us think different because they got immersed in the story. If you keep it superficial: "they are the main lead so they are meant for each other" you won't have any problems with the ending. I like to observe human interactions and learn about motivations and patterns of behavior&thinking, that's why I go further analyzing why and why not the ending make sense. But if you're cool keeping it on a superficial level, then you can enjoy the story and that's great for you.
This is a story written by someone and it could make sense in real world or not (the writer can make mistakes too). For most of us it didn't and we have psychology/reality backing us up. But as I said, it's great you could enjoy the story.
nobody did. Everyone hated it. This was the most unnecessary love triangle in the history of Kdramas
Yep. Never understood how she ignored the boy from the letters and didn't even want to know anything about his life. Like I said before, I have more intimate conversations with people I met 5 minutes ago. This drama goes down the drain like the most unrealistic fantasy ever. The writer messed up big time
People who loves you will tell you the truth risking their relationship with you, people who want you to love them will tell you what you want to hear. HJP vs DS. That's why DM character choosing the last one was so off putting.
what happened in ep9? ahhh was it the ep where we got to see NDS' backstory? I personally loved it alot. Super…
TWOTM ending has a moral lesson: when adults fight kids end up paying. Startup ending has no moral lesson whatsoever. The kids watching the show, please don't believe that you'll have the same success Dodal did. Startup rate of success is around 3-5% and it takes a lot more time (around 7 years) to make it into a unicorn. And don't get married because you win a bid. Also fall in love with people that are not afraid to tell you the ugly truth, that's how you grow.

In this drama they literally said they wanted to be each other trophy. Was so off putting.
And actually I'm one of the few that liked ROY ending. Him getting so famous in Korea, where dating is a scandal, was a big problem in their relationship. And she decided to choose herself. For me the ending was realistic, that's why I could understand. Startup ending made no sense
Even if love triangle was their focus, Dalmi should have given HJP a chance. He wasn't in her eyes ever, it was…
And loved all Jidal interactions btw. They relationship with telling the truth to each other and making each other better was so cute. I liked how they talked back to each other and did little things. Even in episode 14, when they were. in the car she reassured him that her relationship with DS was part of the past, like she didn't want him to have the wrong impression. And then 15&16 happened
Even if love triangle was their focus, Dalmi should have given HJP a chance. He wasn't in her eyes ever, it was…
I love how superficial she got. From "oh, I like the guy from the letter whose face I've never seen but he is like this or that" to "oh, I like big hands. And just because". She looked more like she wasn't attracted to HJP at all (which is hella unrealistic, as HJP is one of the most charismatic characters I've seen in korean dramas) and when she discovered he was the one from the letters she went all: "ugh".

Yeah, he hesitated at first so he doesn't deserve the girl. Him being an orphan is no excuse as everybody should act like DS who has both parents and doesn't have a problem expressing his feelings.
Because you know, having trauma and difficulty opening up to people because you never received unconditional love and the only person you almost trust told you to never call her unless you're having a hard time, make you underserving of love.
Like how could he dream about being loved for who he is. He should be more like DS and find someone who would love him for his hands.
If this was not set in Korea where anyone in the industry is scared to speak up their mind, the actors would have…
Yeah. KSH has experience in scriptwriting (he said he learnt it in an interview) so I can imagine him going "Wuut??" when reading the script of the last episodes. And as a theater actor, he might be familiar with Cyrano story so he possibly didn't like the ending. But in Korea showbiz you could never say anything against anyone, so
NDR ALWAYS played as the young version for the MLphr what did you do
The whole startup narrative looks like main lead go wrong. I don't know if phr was trying to be creative, but she messed up with storytelling basics. She made me doubt her writing talent
Interesting war happening in the Review section. I don't know how the review section works, or what gets considered…
Hardcore young fans take the time to create fake accounts for the sake of rating the show 10/10. The ones that didn't like the show(the adults) are just moving on. So I can see HJP fans moving on from this drama and DS fans staying to "prove their point" with the rankings. Ain't complaining, KSH deserves to be discovered so I will let them have it
People should not trust the rating because this drama is clearly victim of hate ratings and hate comments . It…
I don't hate on the actors, the plot gets messy and the life lessons are pretty bad for a drama using the startup theme, which would aim for people between 20-30. If you are a teenager you might love it, other people want better content as they are wiser. With all the struggles of 2020, the metal healths problems, me too movement... people got smarter and can't settle for plot holes. The bad reviews are from people that expected more as the first part of the show was heading to something
Look the main male lead is a bad actor, but I don’t care because he is so damn good looking , the second male…
I don't think the ML is a bad actor. But the SL is on another lever so he outshines everyone (the only one safe is granma, the actress was good also). I've seen way worse actors, the ML is actually pretty decent. The role/character is a mess, he's nice
But if you go on talking about a certain character, analyze all of them and come with a fair conclusion about why so many people disliked the ML. It's nice to point the flaws on one of them, but it would be a biased thing to stay there.
