Dating, War, and Everything In Between
Now that I’ve finished watching, I can say this drama is definitely a good one. Not the best out there, but still solid. An easy A for me.
I really loved the romance between the leads, and the comedy in the early episodes (especially when she was still a low-ranking soldier) had me cracking up 😂. But without a doubt, my absolute favorite part was the war and fighting scenes. So well done that I know I’ll be rewatching those over and over again. That’s why even though a lot of people complained about the last 3 episodes, I still enjoyed them thanks to the dating and war moments.
What I didn’t enjoy was the unnecessary conflicts that made the emperor look like he couldn’t make wise decisions. Some scenes also felt poorly directed, like the lake scene, where they came out completely dry right after diving in 😅. That’s definitely more on the director than the writer.
All in all, since I’ll be rewatching my favorite parts anyway, I’d give this drama a solid 8.7/10.
