I don't even think having subs for this would have helped me understand it. I had no idea what was going on and can only guess it was a big metaphor for something??? Idk. Interesting a little bit though.
I did enjoy this but for some reason I didn't feel particularly bad for any of the characters. Maybe it was the acting or the writing, I'm not sure. And were we supposed to be suspicious about Aoyagi having done something to Kanon? I thought that it was made clear he didn't do anything, but because they kept bringing it up and we actually never did see Kanon and Aoyagi together, I have to still wonder if he did do something to her afterall?
I really can't appreciate it when they hire Korean actors to play and speak in Japanese roles. That goes for any language and ethnicity in movies. I've seen it done with British actors hired to play and speak Russian roles. The only exception is when the actor can pull off the foreign accent flawlessly, which is very rarely the case. It's very distracting and it adds so much more to the authenticity of the film if they would just hire Japanese actors to play Japanese roles! For some reason I couldn't get past that part so this film was a hard miss for me.
I can't quite say what specific elements make this so great tbh. But I really enjoyed it from start to finish. It had the right amount of suspense and mystery paired with bringing up issues of morality. I rarely watch dramas without skipping through the boring parts, but I watched almost all 12 episodes without skipping scenes in this one! Yeah, just watch it. It's very good.
This started out strong but I lost interest after episode 7 or 8 and dropped it. After skipping to the end I'm glad I did. The plot started to circle a lot and take weird directions. Simple is always better, but this just got out of control IMO. I don't regret the episodes I did watch, however.
Hey thanks for all your hard work but I only see episodes 1-2 on your live journal?
Oh I see... That's unfortunate that all your hard work goes to waste like that. Oh well! Those who spread negativity are often times very hurt people themselves so no use in sending them hate. Ty for your efforts!

This was a pretty interesting film. It was predictable in some parts sure, but still enjoyable. I will watch again when English subs come out.
If it doesn't play right away just disable your adblocker :P
Btw, when this comes out can someone send me a link?? I'd love to see this.
Long Time No See was amazing.
His (2020) was very good also.
