I'm so lucky to have discovered this beautifully subtle film. This was my favourite and the most memorable of the whole trilogy. It's a treasure, for sure. 10/10
omg yes there is I finally found one 4 months later. It has English subs, too, thank sweet baby jesus; https://ok.ru/video/1928040286873 (disable your adblocker if video doesn't load)
This was sooo good. It's quiet and slow so be prepared for little action. I didn't find it boring at all, though. Really great acting from Yagira Yuya.
I could have done without all the animal abuse but otherwise I enjoyed this, demented as it was. Can someone explain…
Hyun Shik emerges from a shallow portion of water and calmly disappears into a thicket of tall grass. The camera then zooms out while keeping the grass in focus and keeps zooming out until we see a naked Hee Jin lying down in her partially sunken boat, her pubic area taking on the appearance of the grass. So I know there is supposed to be some sort of metaphor by Hee Jin's pubic region resembling the tall grass Hyun Shik vanished into, I just can't for the life of me figure out what. Any guesses?

I watched this on youtube and maybe the English translation was a bit off because I'm confused as to why Xiu Xiu didn't put up a fight when all those men came to visit her. Did she feel trapped and like she had to accept them, or was she just young and naive and passive about the whole thing? Maybe Lao Jin wasn't sure either that's why he never stepped in to help her?
Every minute of this was perfection. Now that I look back, it felt like so much was going on even though it was slow-paced. The acting was beyond incredible, especially from the dude who played Min Gu. I won't give too much away, but I'll just say I was not expecting that twist about the relationship between Min Gu and Jung Ju. It's always refreshing when a movie can surprise me like that. I'd recommend this to those of you who have the patience and appreciation for a grittier, slower paced film.
