If the gay elements were a minor part of the story, it makes less sense to censor them. The people who are uncomfortable with gay content could've skipped over them, and the people who appreciate gay content could've enjoyed them as part of the overall story

Straight dramas rarely, if ever, remove or alter the "romantic" elements that define their straightness. Some de-emphasize the elements, but the elements are there. They aren't passed off as "friendship" to the degree that gay elements are in adaptations. The censorship and distortion of gay stories is a form of discrimination that's absent from straight stories and their drama adaptations

You want to be free to follow your beliefs, gay people should also be free to live their lives without facing prejudice. The freedom to express one's beliefs doesn't extend to the freedom to censor, silence, or distort the stories and experiences of gay people
If you don't support gay people, adapt straight stories or create new stories that reflect your beliefs. You can't take a story that has gay themes or characters and distort those elements to fit your ideology. BL fans are teaching drama makers to be respectful

"Whole world doesn't have to share their opinion"
When the "opinions" you, the makers of the drama and the whole world have are steeped in prejudice and ignorance, particularly against gay relationships, a spirited exchange of ideas is necessary to get people to realize they've been living in the dark
Why is it censored!?! Jeez, we need to go back with making progress in the industry. Thought it was Chinese for…
It's a combination of societal homophobia and producers' fear of backlash
The "barely there" gay content could've been ignored by homophobes or improved upon during the adaptation process. But the producers were afraid that homophobes would have a complete conniption over the slightest hint of a gay romance and decided to pretend it didn't exist
they changed a story, so it made sense, the BL in the webtoon was barely there and it was kinda problematic, censored…
Honestly, claiming that "censor" is too big a word is like claiming "elephant" is too big a word when there's a small elephant in the room. Using a smaller word doesn't make the elephant (censorship) disappear
Prominent or barely there, a whisper or a shout, if the gay content is silenced and removed, it's censorship. You're downplaying the significance of this decision
The gay content wasn't problematic, that's your opinion. And they were going to "change the story." They could've either revised the "problematic" elements to promote healthy representation or addressed your concerns without going full-on "banhammer" on the content
I mean no one seeing them as gay or having romance in the drama except of "some" bl fans, bfr, we all see them…
It's hard to take the "fans" of this drama seriously when they've been parroting the same arguments for months. Do they have a script they're reading off of?
A little break from the internet might do them some good

You're not going off the rails at all. Society is regressing into a more hostile and intolerant state. It's unwelcoming towards those who don't adhere to its ever-narrowing definition of "normal." And the homophobia that was temporarily hidden is now being dragged into the light
Someone sounds bitter that some BL fans have standards and won't stand for censorshipI thought you've "already…
"You had to make your own narrative about what I thought"
I can't help it if you keep changing your mind
I used the term "stalker" loosely for dramatic effect. No offense intended
My comparisons didn't land with you. And I have stuck around to get through to you. It doesn't invalidate my comments. Getting into a heated fight with people who disagree with you or the drama isn't the best way to get your point across

I'm here to bring balance to the Force and inject reality into this lovefest. If everyone was a fan, the comments section would've been a one-sided chat, and where's the fun in that?
The controversy rn is only happening between these 20ish people on this mydramalist (even the twitter people didn't…
The world of Kpop and BL have been colliding lately. The Man BLK's Seung Ho (Mr. Heart), Chan Yi (Light on Me), Woo Jin (Light on Me) and Jeong You (A Breeze of Love) have taken on gay roles. SHINee's Min Ho played the role of a gay man and made waves with his groundbreaking performance in Yumi's Cells. There's more. Golden Child's Jae Hyun didn't get the chance to show off his acting skills in a gay role, but I believe he would have. Behind-the-scenes drama kept him from doing so

"And what is that pizza nonsense"
It's not nonsense, it's a cheesy analogy
"The remove the gay storyline and it's still manage to deliver the major plot points"
Stories are more than plot points, they're about character development, relationships, the messages they convey. The gay parts would've added a different flavor, a different texture. They were a different perspective on love, intimacy, identity and acceptance. The drama lost the depth and complexity of non-conforming identities, experiences and relationships
"... that fetishized your enjoyment"
My interest in the gay parts of the story isn't a "fetish," it's a preference

"I'm moving on, doesn't mean I couldn't talking about it"
You're like the person who claims they're over their ex, but checks their social media every day. You peek through the curtains to see what's going on and claim you're done with it. You can't have it both ways. Either move on, or embrace your inner stalker. Don't pretend you're above it all
"How can I just ignore the comments I don't agree with when you yourself couldn't ignore my comments you don't agree to begin with"
Telling you to ignore comments isn't the same as ignoring comments myself. I'm offering advice to help you pick your battles wisely, not setting an example
just finished my watch and i really liked it! it got a bit boring at times but overall it was a fun watch. chan…
Yi Heon's story was one of homophobia becoming a deadly game of darts. The gay bullseye on his back was an easy target for the bullies' taunts and harassment. Society, in its apathy, chose to be the one-eyed referee who didn't call out the unfairness of the match. And so, Yi Heon's sexuality was censored/erased. The hate crime was forgotten, like Yi Heon's existence
I know that mainstream actors don't play gay roles because their careers will blow up in their faces. Society demands conformity or else. I can't help but despise it
At least we can vent our frustrations in comments sections and hope for a better tomorrow

@Reen, you guys are the reason I'm here. Without your non-stop blabbering, everyone else would've left the theater. Thanks to you, we're here, watching the same tired plot play out

Why would someone revisit a page for a drama they liked to fight with the people who didn't like it? You can like the content and ignore the comments you don't agree with
The commenter claimed that they've "already moved on from this drama," they've spent enough time with the drama to form their opinion, and they have no reason to continue to fight about it

I'm a big fan of rainbows and glitter
"Your voice is so mighty that it's literally change NOTHING towards this drama"
Don’t underestimate the power of a tiny voice. A tiny spark (voice) can start a huge fire
"Keep going buddy, may some day they put the GAY part back to satisfy your so called preference kkk"
Thanks for the encouragement. If there's ever another adaptation of the novel that includes the GAY parts, I'll be first in line to watch it
A little break from the internet might do them some good
They were diminished by the removal of the gay parts
"How low your reading comprehension is?"
My reading comprehension is just fine
"The problem is on you and the loud minority here"
I prefer to think of myself as a tiny but mighty voice in the wilderness. I'm not in the majority, doesn't mean I don't count
I can't help it if you keep changing your mind

I just wanted to point out that they're duking it out in the comments, they haven't completely "moved on"
