I was nervous to watch this one because of reviews but I love love LOVED it. the first few episodes were the hardest to get through for me…… and the only ones I have a minor complaint about. I think they could have done better at setting the stage for the marital conflict and why it was so bad. you never ever really felt the justification for why BH actually hated his wife. in fact it never actually felt like he hated her. ever. There is ONE scene and circumstance that is eventually revealed that does justify the marriage breakdown but still doesn’t really work to make him hate her and it should have been introduced much earlier in the plot in episode 1 to give the audience more justification for why BH felt the way he felt but…… once you get through the first two episodes for me it was everything I wanted. Everything. I cried so much throughout!!!!
if you love melodrama this is for you (I do)
if you love family dramas where the rich dysfunctional family finds healing and humility in the rural farmer families warmth & kindness this is for you.
if you love watching two GORGEOUS equal partner lead characters this is for you. And I do mean GORGEOUS. In some of the scenes it’s like our ML & FL are lit from the gods. just insanely pretty to look at.
it’s not a 10 for me but it’s close. ignore the bad reviews. watch it!
the rating for this is way way waaaay too low!!!! are there haters lurking and downvoting??? I rarely can make it through modern Cdrama’s but this one is cute and fluffy with just enough angst and the ML & FL are both excellent actors and their characters are so well matched. if you want a mostly fluffy ROMANCE this is it!!!! stop downvoting it haters.
Pretty much perfect from beginning to end. this will go on the list of dramas I watch over and over. I hope this production team makes more projects together because everything just TOP TIER.
I don’t know why people keep asking if this is a noona romance. It’s made pretty clear this is about a woman without a son and a son without a mother who find healing through each other in a mother-son surrogate relationship.
theory……. what if the scene at the beginning isn’t him trying to kill /run her over but her trying to stop him from driving off to kill someone else. just a thought……
I mistakenly thought they were secretly brothers and I have no idea why I thought that.
I thought that’s where the plot was going too. especially when he said his abusive father was not his biological father. why say that line of there isn’t a story there…..
Every season is better than the last. This cast has it all and they give all the vibes. highly highly recommend especially if you are in a funk and need something to lift you out of it.
I think it's yet to reveal that why he needed to save Qi.. what exactly happened which cost Qi's life... This…
trailer for episode 28 confirmed the jist of the theory. BLH got severely injured…. so he traded his life at the dragon pool to create JZ to keep Qi company and replace him for her.

trailer for 28 confirms part of my theory. except it wasn’t to save Qi…. it looks like he got severely injured and just traded his life to give her JZ as a companion in his place. not because she needed saving though….. I think.

this is actually a beautifully executed slice of life drama with a super fluffy romance and good pacing. it deserves an 8.5
