I want him in more costume drama’s as a ML. He is SEXY and funny and has incredible timing and expressions! He absolutely SHINED in My uncanny destiny!
This was honestly too too cute! Really entertaining and hits all the right notes. Doesn’t take itself seriously but also has two incredibly smart leads who somehow play both sides of comedy and drama perfectly. A lot of kissing. ML is very sexy and really kisses. So if you’re in the mood, enjoy lol

P.S. I have loved dramas with poor CGI. That’s not my main issue with this one. Aside from the CGI it simply poorly produced. You absolutely do not need effects to make a high quality production. Just good direction, editing and creative team.
Yes the CGI, VFX, or whatever is really bad, but this should also be called a xianxia. It has a lot of elements…

That’s all true. For me personally it’s not VFX that’s the main issue. It’s overall low production quality. I have loved many many dramas with low quality VFX.

I agree that it gets slightly better /less bad from episode 3 production wise. It’s a shame because you need to start strong to leave a good first impression.

How many times must I repeat it’s not just the visual effects. Those can be overcome. I clearly stated the multiple things that are contributing to it being subpar quality and yes, it looks 5-10 years old compared to BFTB. And I’m not even comparing it because they are different genres. I’ll compare it to Legend of Fei or The Legends. The Legends had lots of problems with editing and didn’t have high budget CGI but it was still shot beautifully with beautiful ost.
Have you looked at the director for this credits? He is a stunt actor turned director with only one other directing project. It’s quite clear that he is borderline amateur at directing. It’s ok to admit that. If this was at the beginning of his career it would be fine for him to be in this project. I have zero reason to criticize any of his projects because he is my # 1 favorite.
