I think some people's expectations were too high here. Haven't you learned anything from watching other kdramas…
No I didn’t have the same anticlimactic feelings during Part 1. Others did but I did not. I also don’t care about happy vs sad ending. Half or more of my favorite shows have sad endings. I just care about how they get there, the stakes and the reveals. I don’t obsess over the plot having to have a fairy tale ending just a story that is well executed 🤷🏻‍♀️

Unfortunately I agree with you. I’m so bummed at how much they had to work with, how epic it could have been…
Unless some huge new secret is revealed and it brings a new epic dimension to the story nothing else that happens will save this Part 2 for me.

Part 2 has really completely rested on the love we all had for Part 1. In a way, I feel like this Part 2 has been made in a way where they took everything created in Part 1 and felt like they could just milk us and those nostalgic feelings we felt without giving us much of anything really dynamic in Part 2 plot wise. I LOVED the romance of Part 2 but it completely has fizzled for me as it’s played out into todays episode. Like literally this reveal and discovery for both of our leads could not feel less epic to me 🙃

Alchemy of Souls made me realize what terrible writers the Hong Sisters actually are.... they have been adding…
They have flashes of brilliance but they do not know how to fully flesh out their stories and while I will still watch their shows I will now know for sure to keep my expectations in serious check because this was my last straw with them. This has been bad bad writing

After tonight’s episode, it made my rating drop 2 points, 8 is now the highest because of all the nonsensical…
Unfortunately I agree with you. I’m so bummed at how much they had to work with, how epic it could have been and how totally lame it ended up. Super disappointed with these last 3 episodes.

I watched every single episode of Part 1 multiple times and usually would watch each one again right after it aired. I did the same with the first 6 episodes of Part 2.

But I haven’t wanted to rewatch these last 3 episodes really at all which is such a bummer…… but they just haven’t been nearly as interesting or compelling. There was so so so soooo much buildup and so little of it has actually become anything. Naksu living as BuYeon and the entire reveal has been so darn anticlimactic, so much of the tension and suspense has been diluted and removed and the stakes feel so mild and predictable now…….

Unless something phenomenal happens tomorrow I will be truly let down by this Part 2 and almost wish it had ended at Part 1.

If what master Lee said is correct there is no Jin Bu Yeon never was she never lived, it has been Jin Seol Ran…
this was my theory all of Part 1. I said it repeatedly and it still is the only thing that makes sense to me. who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

The story is extremely poorly told, incoherent, and at times ridiculous. But for some reason that I don't understand,…
yes and yes and you are not alone…… yes lol

On Li Fei Jan 6, 2023
Person Li Fei
did somebody sign this guy into some absurd contract where he is forced to make 50 low budget short episode drama’s until he can be cast in a decent show???

this guy is extreme ML material but keeps making these awful short episode stories with terrible plots. someone free him from this slavery!

It's getting toward the end of the series. I wonder how they'll tie everything together? I have to say out of…
I want to marry HeNa. I would marry Lu Liu/LuGe but oh my heart aches for HeNa. Best SML in a long time and I’m terrified he won’t get a happy ending

Just started this couple days ago and not to be dramatic but He Na is so so handsome!!! its like love at first…
HeNa is one of the best 2nd ML characters ever. both the writing and the actor are PERFECT. this is one of the only times I’ve ever watched a drama and literally think to myself I wouldn’t be able to choose between these two men because they are both so hot. in general, this is a beautiful cast which makes it very easy to watch! gorgeous people everywhere

There's Island or Reborn rich. As for romance try the forbidden marriage or fanletter, please
I couldn’t get into Reborn Rich either. This has been a rough rough year for me finding Kdrama’s I really love as well. The Queens Umbrella got really really good reviews and I will probably give it an honest try (I half heartedly started it while airing but wasn’t paying attention) I don’t even have many shows I’m anticipating in 2023 other than Arthdal Chronicles. Going to definitely try Island but want to wait till it’s finished airing.

*Big Sigh*

so therefore jang gang is the legitimate father of jang uk, and the theory of buyeon 2.0's child whould bear Jin's…
Hell no lol

The only way I’ve managed to fully enjoy this show is I’ve had to literally suppress every ounce of logic I possess and *also* completely forget every previously established rule the show has had in the plot . It’s all absurd and ridiculous and non sensical and I think I posted after the first episode of Part 2 that anyone acting like it’s not all absurd and makes sense is delulu! None of it makes sense!

I’ve just accepted it so I can ride it wherever it takes me 😭

I have 50/50 either that or the regrets of the first time, now that he found her, she will kill her so she doesn't…
Ah well here we will have to disagree. Korean Drama isn’t like Western Drama where it has a foundational loyalty to happy endings. If anything, it’s the opposite and happy endings are less typical. Kdrama’s thrive on open endings and sad endings with the rare really clear happy ending.

I’m not sure a happy ending can exist for two (technically 3) people who the show has made clear, are not actually supposed to exist currently.

So for me, happy or sad ending, it’s the journey that I’m here for and yes, will be sad if they don’t get a fairy tale ending with 3 kids but not remotely surprised if it’s an open ending after a tragedy because that’s much more Kdrama style. Switching female lead actresses in this way was super risky and that will likely have more impact on viewers, causing many to not watch Part 2 (their loss btw!) than any sad or open ending.

I will hope for a happy ending for our beloved couple but for sure am preparing myself for a worst case scenario.

They didn’t really say she’s no longer a soul shifter.. Just that due to the absence of Naksu’s memory and…
The show is either being illogical (plot holes) or not revealing something to us viewers. But anyone saying it makes sense as of now ….. like no lol
