HeNa is one of the best 2nd ML characters ever. both the writing and the actor are PERFECT. this is one of the only times I’ve ever watched a drama and literally think to myself I wouldn’t be able to choose between these two men because they are both so hot. in general, this is a beautiful cast which makes it very easy to watch! gorgeous people everywhere

I couldn’t get into Reborn Rich either. This has been a rough rough year for me finding Kdrama’s I really love as well. The Queens Umbrella got really really good reviews and I will probably give it an honest try (I half heartedly started it while airing but wasn’t paying attention) I don’t even have many shows I’m anticipating in 2023 other than Arthdal Chronicles. Going to definitely try Island but want to wait till it’s finished airing.

The only way I’ve managed to fully enjoy this show is I’ve had to literally suppress every ounce of logic I possess and *also* completely forget every previously established rule the show has had in the plot . It’s all absurd and ridiculous and non sensical and I think I posted after the first episode of Part 2 that anyone acting like it’s not all absurd and makes sense is delulu! None of it makes sense!
I’ve just accepted it so I can ride it wherever it takes me 😭

Ah well here we will have to disagree. Korean Drama isn’t like Western Drama where it has a foundational loyalty to happy endings. If anything, it’s the opposite and happy endings are less typical. Kdrama’s thrive on open endings and sad endings with the rare really clear happy ending.
I’m not sure a happy ending can exist for two (technically 3) people who the show has made clear, are not actually supposed to exist currently.
So for me, happy or sad ending, it’s the journey that I’m here for and yes, will be sad if they don’t get a fairy tale ending with 3 kids but not remotely surprised if it’s an open ending after a tragedy because that’s much more Kdrama style. Switching female lead actresses in this way was super risky and that will likely have more impact on viewers, causing many to not watch Part 2 (their loss btw!) than any sad or open ending.
I will hope for a happy ending for our beloved couple but for sure am preparing myself for a worst case scenario.

No it is not. This has been made clear many times now. Bu Yeons body was surviving off of Naksu’s energy. Naksu’s energy was used to heal Bu-Yeons literal physical body, it’s BY’s hands, legs, feet, height, weight, structure….. all of it. This is confirmed when Jin Mu sees her up close and realizes she cannot be Naksu because OG Naksu was physically built completely differently in height, weight and mass so while her face resembles Naksu’s (because it’s hers) to someone who actually knew OG Naksu she only looks similar by face but otherwise is too different for them to be able to say she IS Naksu. She’s literally physically, looking from the outside, OG Bu-Yeon with Naksu’s face. Which is how people can’t recognize it’s Naksu. Therefore Naksu’s ENERGY fused with Bu Yeons living body creating BuYeon-Naksu 2.0 with Naksu’s facial features due to the energy.

I think MasterLee lied at the start of Part 2 somewhat. He *did* say at the beginning that as long as the powers and memories were suppressed the body & soul wouldn’t clash. But everything else he said contradicted that by making it seem like since Naksu’s energy was used to re-craft this new Bu-Yeon 2.0 she was as much Naksu as she was Bu-Yeon
I think the show is changing up the rules as it goes, which it likes to do. Bottom line, whether BY 2.0 is still a soul shifting situation or a fusion situation or whatever hocus pocus they want to call it, the soul and the body belonged to two different people and still do. And the only way they stay compatible is when Naksu cannot access her powers. In both version 1.0 and 2.0
