I don’t think it’s that they are weak, it’s that Hellfire is so strong. While he was locked up/sealed they were able to beat Moon clan and reclaim land. The last God of War they had was Chidi Woman and it seems her only way to defeat him was with the sealing. So current God of War will never be as strong as Demon King it’s just not possible because of hellfire.
In most Xianxia’s the most powerful from the Demon tribe can only be beaten by being sealed and the seal usually requires a sacrifice from the immortals. I’ve always felt that the Demons powers weren’t that impressive and were kind of lame so to FINALLY actually have a Demon King that has overwhelmingly vicious power is super satisfying. Especially if he will have to contend with trading some of that power for love!
Can someone please please tell me who the Art Director for this drama is? Someone please find his/her name I’m sure it’s listed on a Chinese site somewhere!

Since it’s the same writer as The Blue Whisper and she likes to repeat certain themes it might be that his father forced him into killing him. The dad in The Blue Whisper wanted the son to be strong and prepared to fight the real enemy to protect their people so he was cruel to him and tried to force him into killing him.
