It’s possible that maybe JSM turned down the extra 10 episodes and they had no choice and will pulls rabbit out of a hat to make Naksu’s old body reappear but I just am not seeing it at all now that we have 18 episodes of this drama. If they had scenes where MD/Naksu in her head imagines herself in her old body even just once or twice maybe kissing UK or being with Uk….. literally anything where in her own imagination/conscious she still saw herself in her old form then I could understand bringing her old form back. But they just haven’t done that at all…… the only single time was during the fitness test to get into Songrim and it was just a re-play of the same scene from episode 1. So I’m just super skeptical about this return to her old self. But I could be completely wrong.

Yes exactly it was to show that Yul is too soft and they would have never worked because she would have ran all over him and he would be hurt all the time. Uk is her better match because they can totally communicate the same way lol

I think the point of the drama *IS* the love focus. It’s love that is the message. Love over greed. Over eternal life. What sacrifices you are willing to make to protect the people you love. What power you are willing to forego to be with the one you love.

Many people understandably want lots of action and OG badass killing shadow assassin Naksu back but I think 18 episodes in the message of the show is that it’s two people who will pass all of that up to protect each other and the journey is their journey and the other stuff is secondary. If the price Naksu has to pay to get her power back is her friends and her lover will die, or she can never see them again she has shown she will choose them over regaining her power.

We may never get the old Naksu back because the price she would have to pay to be strong and powerful in her own body may be too high now that she’s developed all of these relationships.

Don’t get your hopes up it’s unlikely it’s them actually getting married! Trailers are there to fake the audience out and torture us lol

I would be with you that “it’s just about souls” is Jin Bu Yeon wasn’t made with the actual ice stone. She is not like the other characters. She isn’t just a natural born priestess. She was dead in-utero and Jang Gang had to use the Ice Stone to bring her to life. So she is a major X factor that strongly ties back to the original priestess. And inside the ice stone the adult Priestess simply did not have the same sweet personality as that Jin Bu Yeon, she had a personality of someone who has been around much much longer. So there is something yet unknown / unexplained . It’s not reincarnation but new births of people whose destiny is to be the heroes when Chaos and Greed appear.

This is basically what I also believe also. It may not be exact on all points but the general idea is what I think the plot is leading us toward after this recent episode. There is a reason they showed us the two distinct very different incarnations of little & adult priestess inside the ice stone.

You could absolutely be right but I think todays episode is evidence against that. And what we are open to is not what the average viewer will be into. Viewers drop shows for much less. 18 episodes into a show is A LOT for a Kdrama audience to get invested in a couple and if either actor is changed I am just saying the reaction will be a big possible ratings drop. So I’m skeptical that JSM does not appear. I love both actresses and both characters so this isn’t a fan/stan/bias thing. It’s literally just an objective opinion based on what they’ve given us for 18 episodes. But we will see what happens!

He IS in love with Naksu the person inside. That’s obvious. He doesn’t even know what Jin Bu Yeon is like.

I agree that he should have shown more care but disagree that he’s some concubines son. It just doesn’t make sense within the plot that he is not a legitimate Seo descendant. And if you’ve been living with someone you’ve called mom for 10 years and find out she’s a soul shifter you would say “it turns out my mom isn’t my real mom!”

The *SOUL SHIFTER Shaman Choi* is not his mom. That’s what he was referring to. If he was a concubines son he would be MUCH more insecure about his position and the threat of the Kings Star. He is a SEO decendant (that’s how he has powers unlike his dad) and Yul’s cousin with the backing of the SEO mage family. If he was a concubines son he would not have powers, would not be secure as the Crown Prince and would not be friendly with Uk and on their side.

It’s GYJ voice however your overall point believe it or not is still VERY SALIENT.

Why?

1. Only GYJ fans even knew it was her voice. Most of us didn’t figure it out until episode 11 or 13….and most casual watchers have NO IDEA it’s GJY voice. Because they are SO SIMILAR to the average person. So the interior monologue voice really doesn’t matter if it’s point is to remind us that Naksu is not Jung So Min. If a very large majority of viewers cannot tell the two voices apart it’s failed to do what it was intended to do for most of the audience.

2. Along with the voices being extremely similar, they have not used GYJ VISUALLY much at all if they strategically wanted to keep it at the forefront of peoples minds that NAKSU is still GYJ even in her own minds image. Other body swap drama’s/movies have ways that they interweave the visual images to remind the viewers regularly. AOS has not done that.

So it will be extremely JARRING to the average viewers if all of a sudden Jang Uk is now being romantic with GYJ, I know GYJ /Naksu fans don’t feel this way but it’s common sense that millions of people have watched Jung So Min and Jae Wook fall in love and if *either* actor is changed it doesn’t matter “that it’s her soul” …… after 18 episodes Jang Uk has never seen Naksu a day in his life and the audience will not just easily adjust to her being GYJ and not JSM.

It is what it is. We will see what the writers have in store for us but I think everyone should delete the rumors from their brains and not have any expectations of what’s to come because there is no real confirmation about anything 🤗

Yes that’s what I thought as well.

In the flashback JinMu says that Cho Cheong threatened to reveal Jang Uk’s secret if Jin Mu didn’t teach him Alchemy of Souls. So Jin Mu tough Cho Cheong AOS to protect Jang Uks secret and then had to kill him because he ran wild.

How is this lie believable? Cho Cheong was Jang Uks best friend. I find it hard to believe he would threaten to reveal Jang Uks secret.

So …… JinMu lied to Jang Gang. My question is…. Jin Mu knew that Jang Gang & the King switched bodies. Did he also know about the Kings star or did he use AOS on Naksu’s Dad to switch someone into his body to gain access to the chart and that’s how he found out?

Or is there another missing piece to the puzzle behind why JinMu had him killed that we don’t know yet?

Why did Jang Gang believe his best-friend would expose Uk’s secret much less use it as a threat?

The only reason I didn’t interpret it that way is because the real queen is a SEO /Yul’s aunt and CP regularly talks about the fact that they are cousins on that side and in this drama at least it was always implied CP is half Seo, not a concubines son. I know that typically the Queen can essentially adopt/take in the concubines son and treat them as their own son but I just didn’t get the impression CP wasn’t actually from the SEO lineage/family on his moms side.
