Sorry to disappoint you but I have gone through the same events as Soek Ryu and I am of the same age as Soek Ryu..... International student in the US, graduated and working in the US for 10+ years..... So I guess I can stand by whatever I typed more than you my dear..... Looks like you are still in the fairy world and sorry to disappoint you that real world doesn't work like this .... And looks like you are fine how they are portraying a woman in the series....Soek Ryu, Soek Ryu 's Mom , ML's mom.....
"Dream is not the thing you see in sleep but is that thing that doesn't let you sleep" is attributed to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India and renowned scientist.
If you are truly passionate about something then you do not have to look for that in your childhood dairy or ask your friends.....FL looking for her dreams in her school dairy or in a park looked really childish. I found it really hilarious still i wanted to keep watching this show because the chemistry between the leads (main leads and the 2nd leads) clicked for me. But, i really want to give up after last week's episodes.
Why K drama writers always show FLs as bitchy......who loves attention from men......sorry for my language but that's how it looked. She is now aware that both the guys have feelings for her and are pursuing her so she should have been considerate of them as she had/has relationship with both of them. ML was being considerate by offering his office kitchen for her to practice so when her ex fiance insisted on staying back, she should have told him they can catch up later and this is someone else's workplace. This action made her look like someone who is enjoying the attention from the opposite sex and she is enjoying the sight of them fighting for her. This was disrespectful and rude of her towards both the men.
ML was firm when he drew the line when his ex tried to flirt with him infornt of Soek Ryu. Soek Ryu is already wavering and she has feelings for the ML. This alone shows that her feelings for her ex is no longer the same. So, she should have just firmly said no to him and not dilly dallying and waste his time. Kdrama writers, by doing this you are only showing how fickle a FL is......Her attending UC Berkley or working in Griep doesn't show that she is a smart woman ...these kinda behaviour define her character.....arrrggghhhh
I am someone who falls into that category "where the leads take time into falling for each other so there is no breakup in the later episodes"rather than " fall in love within the 1st 3-4 episodes, date for an episode, misunderstanding for another episode, breakup for next two episodes and makeup in the last 2 episodes"..... So I was fine with the pace of the drama despite having couple of issues with the FL character..... Her character is super fickle.... I thought I would let it slide or it might become better as the drama progresses but damn!!! She is getting worse......
1) If she was/is planning to keep her disease from her parents and friends then she should have stayed back in the US. She had all the more reasons to not to go back to her country. It's not that she is staying in a different house far from her parents. She is living in the same house as her parents. Her mom is super nosy and her neighbors are gossipy. Now , ML 's father is a doctor and looks like she has been taken to the same hospital where ML's dad work so I don't know what was her plan all along...... US is a Dreamland for immigrants. It gives equal opportunity to people who work hard. So she could have still quit her job and started something in the US itself..... Being an authentic Korean chef in the US would have given her more opportunities in the US than opening a restaurant in her country and fighting with other competition for customers like her dad said.....
2) she is unintentionally playing push and pull with both the men. I don't hate her ex. , just like I don't hate ML's ex. They are not crossing any lines nor creating any misunderstandings. ML, drew a line with his ex whenever she tried to flirt with him Infront of soek ryu but Soek Ryu is keeping both the men on hook. Neither accepting nor rejecting both. She is in a confrontational mood now.... confronting her parents, she had a couple of rows with the ML as well, so she is totally capable of cutting off an tie with her ex if she wanted....now at this point of time, it is coming across as if she is liking the idea of being chased by both the men...ML was being nice and offered her his office kitchen to practice and now she has got her ex into his office and not even telling him to leave. I thought it was rude of her to keep her ex around in the ML's office and now she knows his feelings for him...I mean, how can one be so shameless and inconsiderate.. In the preview it looks like the ex is going to propose. I don't think it's the flashback because she was wearing the same gray sweater as she wore for her cooking class.
Just curious..... How much older a FL to ML age you are willing to accept? 10 years? 15 or 20 or 25 years? ,......…
I don't know your gender or age so asking this question without assuming anything..... seeing how you have friends who are in a relationship with some 80 year old people so you might be in your mid 20s.... again, don't want to assume anything here....do you have kid/kids of your own?
Lol, if the ML is older is so ok cus is one of the great actorsBut god forbit the FL being olderI read are so…
Just curious..... How much older a FL to ML age you are willing to accept? 10 years? 15 or 20 or 25 years? ,...... just wanted to see how this logic works...... nothing against you or trying to offend you.....just curious
that means you haven’t been following - she mentioned in an earlier episode that she had a food blog for korean…
Wow..... I mean, the writer should really give you some credits looks like you can build a castle in the air..... 1) I myself was an international student in the USA, just like Seok Ryu.... Almost all the international students in the USA cooks.... Because we don't get authentic food here....so , we take things in our hands to survive here..... I didn't enter into the kitchen before coming here , but I cook better than my mom. I also used to cook for my roommates .....this doesn't mean anything..... 2) Seok Ryu was bored and all her friends were busy so she was killing time at her dad's restaurant. She offered help after hearing they got an order for 100 kimbab rolls . 3) if Seok Ryu had praised ML 's bedroom then doesn't mean she would sleep with him or if she sees a clean bathroom then would take a dump.... You cannot just deduct everything to infer whatever you want..... Infact she used to run fast when she was younger, even now when her mom was running behind to hit her.....then according to you she should have become a sprint runner because the clues were all there...or she drove ML's car today, so do you think her dream is to become Uber driver....She also went to drink coffee at ML's office so do you think she wants to be a barista.. Lol.....
It should have rather been subtly incorporated like she making something for her mom when she some the pain relief patch on her mom's hand and still assembling boxes using those painful hands.... Then after her mom tasting the food, she would have praised her saying " wow, your cooking is amazing"... This would have given her confidence and recognition from her mother....that way, she could have given more thought on becoming a cook . ..or asking her dad questions about cooking because she has a great teacher at home, this would have looked more natural in believing her leaning towards becoming a cook....so rather than telling people to watch it again or whatever....you should stop deducing each and every action which probably meant nothing......
Her becoming a comic book writer would have made more sense as comic books were referenced so many times in the past and also in the present....she had gone to a comic book store as well....if going by you guy's logic then this would make more sense....lol .... That was so funny, she praised ML's office kitchen so her becoming a chef is justified....lol.... never read any funny comment than this....you made my day
I was one of those who loved this drama from the get go.... Felt their friendships be it between the ajhummas or between their children.... Felt everything was natural.....the writing just felt seamless..... But today 's episode was weird rather random and abrupt......
Today 's episode was about finding Seok Ryu's dream ... But, she wanting to be a cook was so fuck**g random...... 1) her fake enthusiasm towards making some paste... it looked really forced. 2) A forceful entry of an ex girlfriend to introduce FL's dream..... The entire plot was random.....
I mean, Seok Ryu never showed much interest in cooking till now .... I mean, her dad is a cook and owns a restaurant.....she never showed any interest there..... There were couple of scenes in the kitchen of their house, but she never showed any interest..... So, all of this came out of nowhere ...... Some people cook because they are passionate, Seok Ryu showed nothing of that sort till now...... Super disappointed.....
do you believe in freedom ? do they brake the law ? do you like to draw your own personal red lines and force…
There is a law in the USA, if an adult ever contacts a minor with the intention of love/sex/ or any other purposes then it's a very serious crime, felony. I guess, you can argue saying where is the freedom, it's just love, love doesn't see age bla bla....but the law doesn't seem to agree
I guess now senior actors are into kids who are born 2000 and after...... People might say, why not , he is an adult too and age is just a number but where would we draw the line.....will it be okay if a 80 year old person dates a 20 year old person, why not they are both adults right.... Rereading my own lines gave me chills. ..ewwww..... It's not morally right
how come seok-ryu family is struggling when she worked for greip for 10 years, where did all her money go?
Also, she just came Korea with one check in bag (pink) which was only full of jackets ( 1st episode) so from where did all her stuff, luxury bag come from.....
The biggest life lesson this drama is teaching us is - " important life's decisions are made when you are clear headed and not when you are intoxicated"... shout-out to the writers for not making our leads to drink Soju at every chance they get or at every hardship they face ...... I am so appreciating Seok Ryu's ways of killing time like hiking to cool down , or going to a library or a comic book store, or even a park gym or just doing nothing while laying in the rooftop, ......she could have easily gone to any of those footpath tents and got drunk and made a fool out of herself while making the ML run to her at every instance.
Both the households are so different and Opposite...One is loud AF and in the other you can literally hear clock ticking because it's quiet AF.......AND Choi Seung Hyo talks to Bae Seok Ryu's mom informally and he talks formally with his mom....hmmmm, fascinating.
Just chill it's just Drama don't take it seriously 🤦
I don't think you understand how widespread halyu wave is now..... K drama industry is very mainstream now in many countries..... Though fiction, I feel Korean writers should be little careful while portraying such a thing....just in 2 episodes, all we saw was FL assaulting ML in the name of friendship
If you are truly passionate about something then you do not have to look for that in your childhood dairy or ask your friends.....FL looking for her dreams in her school dairy or in a park looked really childish.
