If your looking for the typical Thai BL fluffy romance then your in the wrong place as this is a very serious and dark drama and I for one loved it. The first one and a half episodes feel like it is the typical Thai BL but by the end of the 2nd ep all those feelings are well and truly gone in 1 very dramatic scene, 3rd ep gets even darker with an intense sequence involving a knife it's strong but a very important scene. Acting from the entire cast is excellent, James who plays Shin is outstanding, his character could have looked pathetic, given what happens to him, but he just shines in a very demanding role, a special mention also to Yangyi who plays his mother I though she was also great. In truth this isn't really a BL at all (there is one very sweet BL moment at the end), Keng/Shin were never a couple, and were never going to be, it's a story of rumour, gossip and social media speculation out of control and the "effect" it takes and I thought the story and how it was presented were emotional but brilliant. The only minor downside was the final scene, it was a bit ambiguous, personally I'm just going with Shin's old life is "dead" he can move on. This just goes to show how well Thailand can do serious drama and can handle a sensitive and taboo subject like male rape and handle very well they do. Only 3 eps but 3 outstanding eps I thoroughly recommened this to everyone.
Very sad and well done by the 3 actors, but the way it's filmed is very odd going back and forward in time, you forget where you are sometimes. Passes the time for an hour.
One of the 1st BL movies/series I ever watched and still love it now, shame about china though, 3rd season would've been amazing (if you go by whats in the novel)
Although not as good as the 1st series, this is still a very nice easy to watch series with good performances. Also on a side note in ep6 it also has maybe the only time you'll see Nanon & Chimon in bed together!
I was really surprised how much I enjoyed this show, it starts off very badly the first 3 eps are awful, the story is all over the place and some of the acting is shacky at best. It does settle down however and from ep 4-11 it's gets really good. The plot is a sweet coming of age romance story, yes some of the dialogue and acting is bit cheesy but after the year we've all had (and I'm a romantic idiot) we all need a bit of that in our lives, Miko & Aki as the leads (Sky & Ace) grow into their roles very well as the show goes on, the 2 love making scenes in eps 8 & 11 are excellent and not awkward at all and gives the story a lot of credibility. There were a couple of things I though could've been improved though, the final ep although fine and ends nicely lacked impact compared with the previous 4 eps, and, the resolution of the Moira story drove me mad, after everything she did a "sorry" from her just didn't cut it. Overall though I thought this was an excellent series well worth watching, hopefully the 2nd series will be even better. Also praise for the Phillipines they have embraced the genre and are doing great things long may it continue.
I'm not sure I can make it through another episode. Is Ep 4 actually good, or just better than Ep 3? Mussolini…
After watching the first 3 eps of this I felt like crying I was so bored, then I did, crying with laughter reading your comments, perked me right up, cheers! On to the next series for me.
No idea they were even making this special, but this was just so beautiful. Off/Gun no matter what they do are always 2 of my favs but this was just the perfect way to seal there story, no kisses, no sex scenes, didn't matter there love shone through. The last scene was amazing a romantic happy end, I'm so happy.! Now get to Taiwan and make it offical.
Wasn't the biggest fan of the series but this was so much better. No questionable scenes here thank god, it's just sweet, cute and romantic, and Types father is funny. Mew & Gulf really are very, very good together.
There were some things I loved about this show , Tharn/Type were amazing when they were being loved up together, some of there scenes were actually very, dare I say, sexy, the icecube sequence was intense and some of their tender moments worked really well. The acting overall was also a strong point, Mew was by far the best but everyone did a fine job, the final episode was excellent (although a bit overlong) I enjoyed it and was a fitting finale to the series. However, and all the fans please don't hate me but, I absolutely hated the story and a lot of what the characters did. I have read a lot of BL/Yaoi manga and even some ML/Bara and I understand that rape and unwanted sexual desire/attention are a part of the genre, but when adapting "fantasy" manga to a realistic filmed series some things should've been left out. The scenes of Tharn touching, kissing and giving Type lovebites (hickey's) when he was sleeping was very uncomfortable and completely unnecessary, then there was Type and all his homophobic and unpleasent actions at the start of the series, then there was his childhood abuse storyline it could've been a very strong plot point and give Type real depth but it just wasn't dealt with properly. The lack of any real character development was also a problem with everyone especially Lhong, he was a nice guy who suddenly became a monster him becoming evil may have worked but it just came out of nowhere and then the lack of any punishment for what he did left a bad taste. I didn't hate the series when it was good it was great Tharn/Type are one of the best BL couples ever but for me personally there were too many parts of the story that turned me right off.
Very good little series, acting was great from everyone but Mico (JC) was amazing considering the the way the show was filmed he put over a very emotional and passionate performance. The final ep was also very cute and sets up a movie sequel or 2nd series very nicely. The only real issue I had with it was the pace of the story it was a bit slow, towards the end I felt they tried to create a bit of tension or conflict and it dragged the pace of the story down. Although it's similar in style to Gameboys another Filipino BL series, I did prefer Gameboys, this stands on it's own and is a very watchable and enjoyable show, recommended.
Not a terrible series but it does have a few issues. The pacing is awful it's so slow, the characters, except for Tone (Tae), are badly underdeveloped as was the whole story, what the hell was the Akk/Kun Sompoi story all about it took a lot of time and went nowhere. Some of the characters are very unlikeable, Ying & Nook are both horrid and don't really get any punishments for their wickedness which isn't good. There are a couple of good things though- Tone is wonderful, episode 10 with him and his mum was very emotional and extremely well acted, all the acting was actually very good and the 1 BL couple are very cute even though they don't get much screen time. A lot was expected from this mainly because of the original 2Moons cast (SBFive) but this just doesn't deliver not because it's not BL but because the story and pace are just pish (Scottish word for bad)!
Just to suggest some other good Pinoy BLs.... I am currently watching My Extraordinary, and I like it. I also…
Thank you for the recommendations, My Day, Like In The Movies, Ben X Jim & My Extraordinary are ones that I'll certainly watch, Iike to wait until the series is over so I can binge watch. Think I'll remove Sakristan from my watch list as haven't heard many good things about it.
1st Filipino series I've ever seen and I was very impressed. Given the fact it was filmed on iPhones and the Covid-19 pandemic which is a major part of the story this was an incredibly well put together show. Both leads are excellent & very cute together and Pearl was the best friend we all want, in fact all the performances are very good, the story was enjoyable and sweet and dealt with some very serious issues, jealousy, hope, fear, sadness and even death. Yes the last couple of eps are maybe a little over dramatic but that doesn't detract from the overall feeling of the show and it does have an excellent finale.
Given some of the gumph (Scottish word for not great) we've had in 2020 in BL land this has been a breath of fresh air. The fact it's from the Phillipines (and not Thailand, Taiwan or Japan) is another plus for me as it opens up another countries series for us to enjoy, I had never even thought about Filipino series before this but I will certainly check out some more now.
I was really impressed & really enjoyed this series, hopefully the 2nd series will be equally as strong, recommended to all.
Finished this series and have to say how disappointed I was with it. The writing was very poor especially in the 2nd half of the show and relied on cliches seen in almost ever other BL series and as for that opening into I almost fell into a coma it was that boring. Then there is the main couple Bohn/Duen, they started so well I had so much hope but as it went along I was getting more & more annoyed with them and there story and I actually started to skip there scene's as I knew it would only be more mis-understandings & arguments. The dubbing of Ryan (Mek) is also poor and comes across like they didn't put much effort into it, you do get used to it but it is odd. There are some good things though Ram/King were wonderful they had real chemistry and I believed and really enjoyed there story, Mek/Boss I also really liked and in truth they had the most complete story and Frong/Thara were a more mature and thoughtful couple (both they and Ram/King need a 2nd season to complete there stories) and I loved Bohn's little brother & Duen's little sister they were so cute. All 3 side couples were so much better and interesting than the main couple, there parts were much better written it's just a shame that didn't extent to Bohn & Duen. If & when the 2nd season comes hopefully the focus will be on Ram/King & Frong/Thara, oh btw what the hell happened to cupcake hopefully she didn't suffocate in that bag!!
Although I completed the series this is the closest I've come to dropping a Thai series it's far too long. It does end well and the 2 couples are cute (when there happy which isn't often), but I found it very hard to like everyone, Dao & Dew were the only 2 characters that I liked. Kook & Kaiwan were OK to start with but as it went along they became more & more annoying as did there stories, but by far my least favourite was Kong. Yes he is very good looking but to start with he is a little creepy, just couldn't get over a 17yo liking a 10yo it was a bit uncomfortable and then constantly following and grabbing Kaiwan, I just couldn't get into the series because of this and also the very slow pacing, 20 eps was too much if it was 12-13 it may have been better. Not the worst series I've ever seen and if you can get past the premise it's moderately watchable.
Like the first series this was very cute and easy to watch, not a lot happens but it's well put together. When Copter (Kit From 2Moons) shows up for about 5 seconds although nice to see him, if felt like a set up for the new show Gen Y, which has most of the this cast and the original 2Moons boys.
Nice little minor show, acting from Mike (Jeff) was really good and the horror element worked well. Given it's limitations, 42 mins in total, a surprisingly very watchable & well made series, the music is excellent.
I'm confused about the order of sequels, prequels, side story and spin off, Can anyone tell me right sequence…
Kiss The Series (Pete/Kao are only a side couple in this) Kiss Me Again (prequel to Kiss) Our Skyy ep4 Dark Blue Kiss Is the order they were filmed and if you're going to watch them all it would be I think the right way to watch them.
