I got blocked by RobertBobert after his reply to me. This is my reply to him:

Check my profile first before accusing me of being anti-Chinese (forgive me if I made a wrong assumption.) My parents had visited China and I also have had Chinese friends and coworkers.
I was born in Middle East, and a Muslim. I immigrated to US during my high school years. Even in Middle East, both myself and my family had friends of different religions and countries. I am now retired, and during my life in US I have had many friends of various religions, races, country of origin, and sexual orientations, etc. You might label me a lefty.
I have nothing against people of any country, it's the governments which I have issues with, and yes, that would include American government. And, this is something that we Americans have celebrated, freedom to express our views, pro or con, about our government till Trump.
If you delve into both the profiles of trolls here and catch up with the backstory of this issue, you will question the validity of this issue.
I have been watching Korean dramas and movies, and close to 50 Chinese ones, since 2012. I have yet to see one Korean production which would show the US government in a good way, always bad. Yet, never showed the North Korean government in a bad way. Of course, that does not mean that there aren't any just because I have not seen one. I am very cognizant of that. Yet, whether in this site or other sites, I have never seen one American make an issue of this anti-American government sentiment in South Korean productions.
You can say a lot of bad things about the American government and I probably will agree with you on many of them. But, let's not make CCP a saint. They are an oppressive regime, both to their own people and outside. Look what they have done to Uyghurs, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Philippines as a few examples.
after learning korean I realized that subs don't really translate literally but just get the meaning across to…
I am bilingual, so I do understand the intricacies of translation. However, when there is a perfectly direct translation, there's no need to change the script. This case I mentioned is a very good example.
The funniest ones are the ones that the actor says "Thank you" in English and the sub changes it to "Thanks."
Aren't they just toxic actor fans that only rate dramas of their favs "10" and "1" for all other…
Right? I saw a couple of users mark Tempest as seen all 9 episodes before the last 3 episodes being available.
In the first 3 episodes, Tempest is more anti- American than Chinese. I have yet to see one South Korean drama or movie which is pro American government. , They always portray American government in a bad lime light. Yet, I have never seen anyone complaining about it.
First, they watch the shows without paying any money, and then they complain china doesn't look good in those…
As @Facundo1867 mentioned, it's mainly the Chinese government bots, not the Chinese people. If in fact there are some Chinese people, they are the communist party members trying to score points with the party.
Folks, there are lots of Chinese CCP trolls and keyboard warriors here. All you have to do is check their profile. For example, check veistrat profile, this troll has rated most dramas and movies a "1", with the exception of few.
Wish MDL had the mechanism to flag these trolls here.
Edit 2025.09.29 - I take back what I said about veistrat. Sorry veistrat.

Disney translators like treating their tasks like they are performing interpretive dance… maddening to a point…
Thank you for your lovely reply and explanation.
I loved Pegasus Market, what a masterpiece. I have short memory so I can't remember how the subs were. Also, the subs I get might be different than what you see.
I only know very little Korean, basic stuff. But, when I see that they change Good Morning to Hi or Emo (aunt) to Please, or even changing English words to something different, that really baffles and bothers me.
Anyway, AI is new and I have been watching since 2012 plus as I said I am bilingual and see that when relatives try to translate words. It's probably my technical background that makes me a bit fussy about accuracy 😂

Episode 4, Time Stamp 6:34, she clearly says "Me" in Korean, yet the sub says "You think so." So annoying!
She's a very beautiful and excellent actress. Wish her much more success in her career and personal life.
