Thank you for your detailed explanation, very inciteful. From your description I came to understanding that the drama is very loosely based on the novel, as if it is a new novel 😊

Yes, same here in the US. My ex was in dental field so I am a bit familiar with dental issues, not much though.
My older daughter has braces and it wasn't expensive. And, that was some 20 years ago.
No set of teeth are naturally perfect, but I noticed that with Japanese and older Chinese actors crooked teeth were more pronounced. I always wondered the reasons behind it. Was it genetics, diet, etc. or combination of.
MDL should have stopped it a long time ago, but they don't seem to care. So... Long term, though, it makes no…
Liked the first paragraph 😂
I was a coder myself and do understand intricacies of coding, including Oracle database. But, really this change is a simple IF statement. Anyways, like you said, the powers are not interested otherwise they would have made the change long time ago. BTW, the coder is the main person on MDL. He/she decides about the changes.
How is it possible to rate unaired episodes? It's so annoying besides being unethical. MDL, do better and prevent this practice. Good grief, it's a simple coding fix.
This drama was truly a perfect ten for me. There was not one single moment or scene that I thought I wished it was not there or I needed to fast forward.
For me it felt very realistic. The way they presented the lives and the cases. I never felt there was something that was over the top or unreal.
I really loved the actor Lee Chang Hoon's portrayal of Dr Ryu Jae Hwi character. What a superb actor.
I am actually surprised that this drama doesn't have a higher score. It really should be at least a 9,

Thanks. I did not follow thoroughly, so I have no idea the time period. Every culture is different and I do not fault them for the differences. I enjoy variety and appreciate it.

Thank you for your reply. I don't remember where I read it. I was wondering the same thing as the OP. I can't remember if I searched it or just happened on an article about it.
Of course not everyone follows a trend. And, maybe that trend is no longer in fashion. However, I do remember it which was a big surprise to me.
I just did a duckduckgo" search:
"In Japan, crooked teeth are often seen as attractive and associated with youthfulness, a trend known as yaeba. This cultural perception contrasts sharply with Western ideals, where straight teeth are typically preferred."
Here's one from Google:
"In Japan, crooked or overlapping teeth—especially upper canines that protrude like fangs—are known as yaeba (八重歯), which literally translates to "double tooth". While crooked teeth are often viewed as a dental defect in the West, yaeba is celebrated in Japan as a symbol of youthfulness, natural beauty, and approachability."
Hello.Does this season 1 ends with a cliffhanger? I really do not enjoy episode's cliffhangers to begin with,…
OK, thank you very much.
I will keep it on my list and watch it later. Hopefully, season 2 airs soon. I have two more dramas which I am waiting for their next season. Joy of Life, season 3.
Does this season 1 ends with a cliffhanger? I really do not enjoy episode's cliffhangers to begin with, and season cliffhangers are truly not my liking.

Please, no hate towards ANY actor, but what's with famous actors and crooked teeth?? I mean, why can't they fix…
I don't know about Chinese actors, but it's a thing in Japan where they, both celebrities and ordinary people, actually go to dentists to make their teeth crooked. It's considered very appealing in Japan.
I have the same exact thought as yours. Definitely not my thing.
This is why one can not trust MDL ratings. This is a very solid show. At least 8.5, up to at least 9.0 rating.
You are exactly right. I also called the fact that the episodes which were not aired yet had ratings of 1.0 in my earlier comment. Totally unacceptable for MDL to allow that.
Again, you are absolutely correct to call the unsavory MDL users to rate this superb fine drama 1.0 just because of their hate. I do not like sushi, but that does not mean I will give sushi restaurants a one star. As a matter of fact, I won't rate them at all simply because I do not go there, so how could I even rate them. So unethical of these people to purposely underrate a great drama.
I just hope that people who are interested in this type of drama ignore the rating and pay attention to the actual viewers who have watched this lovely drama.
BTW, what is S+ ratings you have mentioned in several of your comments. Thank you in advance.
And, thank you for your great reply as well. Keep posting these comments and hopefully more like minded viewers like us will find this gem.
Thank you again. 😊

Liked your website and bio. You are one cool person. Good luck with all your ambitions and doings. I am also a naturalized citizen 😊

It's not just the low ratings, but any ratings for unaired episodes, including the "10" ratings. I really do not understand why MDL does not fix it.
