The assets are probably too hard to liquidate and get the required money within 10 months. It's not that easy…
Yes, you make very good valid points. I am just saying that even in Japan there are money managers who handle these issues and even if the net is a million dollars, it is still a lot of money. I just think there's more to the story than the inheritance tax issue.

You make very valid points. However, $7.9 million is a lot of money. There are definitely ways to pay the taxes through financing. There are experts available for that. I still believe there's a lot to the matter than meets the eye.
There's definitely more to this story than paying taxes.
Even after paying the tax, there's roughly $8 million left out of $12.5 million. Even in US when you win the lottery jackpot you pay roughly about a 1/3 in taxes.
A superb drama. Very high quality production, excellent acting by all, great story, fantastic directing.
Really enjoyed it, Had planned to watch couple of episodes at a time, but ended up binge watching it. Not a moment of boredom for me with this fantastic drama. I really liked this rendition of Shogun, better than the other ones. It truly was different, so it did not feel like a remake rather than a new story all together.
Sanada Hiroyuki acting was superb, no wonder he got top billing. Anna Sawai acting was top notch, worthy of her award. Amazing that the Japanese actors did extremely well with a non-Japanese director. What an awesome cast all around, including the non-Japanese.
This is really an American production shot mainly in Canada. Beautiful scenery of British Columbia which I am somewhat familiar with.
And, he hasn't made any money yet. Where is the money coming from? Mommy? Not a bad show though. I like the fact…
You do make a great point, but they did not mention anything about it. Also, I wished they had mentioned that her mom and her grandmother would be receiving the royalties.
It was so evident that all the rabid fans wanted was ZLH's pretty face. Rarely did I see his acting abilities…
Thank you for your beautifully written comment.
What you described about viewers comments was the main reason I decided not to watch the drama. Vast majority of the comments were about how beautiful the ML actor is.
I am an old heterosexual man who likes eye candy as much as anyone. But, if the story, acting, and directing is not there then I don't have an interest watching it no matter how beautiful the actress(es) is(are.)
I submitted the following description but they MDL hasn't accept it yet:
A failed writer given to plagiarism gets a buzz at the door from a bright young working girl with a highly original approach to life and sex and his life and work is totally thrown off balance.

1st episode felt like a movie. Excellent production, acting, directing.
Her responses and comments are measured and well thought out. I don't feel any fluffy comments at all.
Not a bad show though. I like the fact that cases are resolved within couple of episodes.
