This is truly a solid production so far with 12 episodes in.
On one hand, I am glad I am watching it as it airs because there would be no way I could not binge watch it and get nothing else done. I am the caregiver to my ailing dad and have to take care of all household matters. On the other hand, waiting for new episodes have become a torture.
In my opinion and wild guess, the low rating goes beyond the lack of romance so far. Something else is at play and I have no clue what it is. This drama is at least an 8.5 to 9.0 range.
It's always like that at the beginning of a drama, people whom expectations are not met will give bad ratings,…
You are absolutely correct, I have noticed that too. That's why I wish there were two types of ratings to show distinctively one for the finished drama.
why does she looks like that shes so unrecognizable
Right? I am definitely not a fan of these two pictures of her. In my view she is so much more beautiful than these two pictures portray. But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And, of course to each his/her own. As much as I am entitled to my opinion, so are others.
I simply can't fathom the low rating on this drama. No, it's not a masterpiece, but still a very good drama. It should be at least hovering around 8.5.
PS. Wish there were two ratings. One for the ongoing and one for the finished product. It really makes no sense to have the two combined as an ongoing rating. And, yes, I know there's an episode rating, but that's different than an ongoing rating I am referring to.
You my good fellow MDL ladies can have your Ji Sung, I'll give praise to the other three fabulous actors mentioned here π. What a great cast, four heavy weights ππ.
Awesome news! About time they get the recognition they deserve. Hopefully, in the near future more equal worldwide representations will follow. There's a lot of great talent worldwide.
didnt pm getting arrested make the cabinet agree to ian's wish of letting the public vote to abolishing the monarchy…
Thank you for your reply.
They didn't show how it was obtained. Remember, the abdication document was also in the safe. How and who broke into the safe?
Haven't watched episode 12 yet, so don't know the details of abolishing monarchy. Anyway, what takes months and years in real life, entertainment industry shortens them into days and weeks. π Abolishing monarchy is not an easy and quick process.
I haven't watched episode 12 yet. But, I do have two questions.
First, did they ever show how the marriage contract was leaked and by whom?
Second, I thought they presented this drama as a Constitutional Monarchy where the crown has no political power. Did I misunderstand it?
The reason I am asking my second question is that if my understanding is correct, then it would not be up to him to abolish the Monarchy. It has to be done through Constitutional changes (congressional act) and not by the crown. Even in fiction details matter.
really makes you wonder though, why does the palace have such bad fire security lmao? not a single sprinkler going…
I can't speak for South Korea, but here in US historic building, among others, can and do get upgraded with not only fire prevention sprinklers, but also earthquake resistance retrofits.
If a castle in Europe can have electricity, it can also have fire sprinklers.
I do agree with you about the writing. That whole fire scene was just too unreal and comical.
I enjoyed it for the excellent actors and the mystery. Based on MDL rating, I would rate it an 8, meaning it's good, not bad and not excellent.
I can understand why the director chose to have so many flashbacks because she lost her memory and was gaining it little by little, and trying to make the viewer walk through the same path as her. But I am really not a fan of flash backs, especially so many of it. I mostly enjoy linear developments. But, in this case, at least in a few cases flashbacks were truly needed for the plat to work.
Definitely this is not for everyone, especially for those looking for romance. I believe the average MDL viewer will not enjoy this drama. This drama is really twisted, vague, and confusing by design. And, this is not a negative toward the drama or MDL viewers. Just because I don't like sushi, it doesn't make sushi bad, it just makes it that sushi is not to my liking.
I watched this drama long time ago and I loved it because it was very close to the actual history. When it deviated form history it was kind of close. I like history, and I enjoy historical movies and dramas where the depiction is more accurate than fiction, so I am a bit biased.
A very nice quick , light, and no dragging drama. Each episode is roughly about ten minutes of actual drama. Great filler for a no stress watch. Think of it as a 6 to 8 regular episodes drama, more like seven 45 minute (including credits) episodes.
Lol πππ I will say condoms aren't 100% effective so maybe I'm choosing to give them the benefit of the…
Yes, you are correct, condoms are not 100% effective in real life. Here is what duckduckgo search says:
When used correctly and consistently, condoms are about 98% effective at preventing pregnancy and significantly reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). However, in real-life use, they are approximately 87% effective due to human error and inconsistent use.
Here's Google search:
Condoms are highly effective for both preventing pregnancy and reducing the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) when used correctly every time. With perfect use, they are 98% effective at preventing pregnancy. However, due to human error, typical use (real-life scenario) is about 85%β87% effective.
