at some point you can hear them say the English word "terrorist" while "rebels" is displayed on…
Yeah, it's really bad in this drama. It's all through out the 4 episodes I have watched so far. Another example in episode 4 is they changed "don't worry" to "I am fine". So laughable yet very annoying.

I am really enjoying the support cast, even the small bit parts. Love the fact this drama is using an international cast.

Justin John Harvey character is really funny and he's really doing a fantastic job with the character even though it's a small part.

And, Jo Han Sun is killing it. What a superb actor.

Unless they manage to airlift WooJin to some hospital and he's not already dead. Anyway - what's this season,…
Even the first season. In this day and age, the use of all those military gear and sounds of explosions and destructions would be known by the government with their myriad of listening/ monitoring devices.

And that's just one area where logic escapes. With these kind of shows, from the get go I know I need to leave logic behind.

Definitely can't apply logic here. View it as if it's another James Bond movie. Meaning throw away logic from a 747 door cruising at 35000 ft. 😁

Had I not known that Kim Hye Jun is 31 years, I would definitely believe she is 22 as it stated in the drama. Can't believe she is actually 31, she looks way younger than that, like super early 20s. Great actress.

Definitely not machine translate since it would be direct translation.

Also, this is just not Disney, it's all of them including volunteers such as Viki. It's seldom that I see good clean translations.

I tried, I really tries to hold my tongue, but the subs really suck. I really wish the translators would write their own story instead of changing the dialogue on these movies and dramas. Ugh!!!

They are changing what's being said into something totally different when there is a perfectly understood and direct translation. Like changing "I understand" to "sorry about that". Freaking annoying. They make their hard work go to waste imho.

When they change something so simple, then it's hard to have confidence in more complex dialogues.

BTW, I am bilingual but my Korean is very limited. I totally understand complexities of translations. But changing a simple "Hello" to "How Are You Doing?" is just major faux pas.

I just there was a way to let the powers to be know about these issues. I don't think I am the only one who gets frustrated with these subs.

Yes, especially that childish tone they use for the females. Also, that very deep voice sounding of older males they use for young and beautiful male actors. Very unrealistic. Most of the dubbing don't sound right to me.

Like you, I am no fan of dubbing. Even though I understand the reason why they are doing is because of the actors' accents, it's just that the voices don't match the faces and ages. My guess is that if I knew the language, it would be even more distracting.

Holy cow, what a stellar cast. Yes, I am talking about the support cast as well. I really love support cast, the unsung heroes of the dramas and movies.

legal ≠ moral/ethical however so this comment doesn’t add much to the convo. I haven’t seen people question…
I am with you on that. It just doesn't sit well with me either.

Yes, in the old days 15 year old females were considered the right age for marriage and a 22 year old unmarried female was considered getting too old. But, slavery was considered legit back then too. Neither is right in my mind.

I am OK with her acting in this role as long as kissing is on the forehead or cheek. Meaning, unadulterated kissing is OK, so is unadulterated hugging. But, that's just my opinion.

Why are Korean writers so intent on making FLs into dumbass figures who assume, then act before checking anything.…
Also, in most dramas they have the FL in super baggy clothes like 4 size too large whereas the ML in nice and fitted clothes. Of course there are exceptions, but not that many.

If you do not want to be reported for passing incorrect information I strongly suggest for you to delete your post. There is no pedophile in this drama, at least not yet.

I have to admit that I struggled to watch the first two episodes. Not because it's bad, it's just so run of the mill for me since I have seen literally so many Korean dramas like it.

I think majority of relatively new comers to Kdrama will enjoy this and a lot of veteran Kdrama watchers will find it very average at best. But, of course there will always be exceptions. It's not the acting, it's the story and how it's unfolding plus all the old stale clichés.

I will keep watching and hoping that I will enjoy it more.

PS. I still would not rate it yet. Two episodes is not enough to honestly rate a drama.

sometimes 1 episode is enough 😭
Yes, people are free to do as they please. It doesn't mean it's the right thing. Also, MDL has to a certain degree control over it. It's really a programming issue.

I respectfully disagree.

Yes, I have dropped dramas even before finishing the first episode, but that's because it wasn't something I was interested in, not that it deserved a rating.

Just because I don't like sushi, it does not make sushi bad. I should not rate a sushi restaurant no matter the rating if I do not like sushi.

Here is another. I am not into certain dramas which are very popular with MDL viewers, should I rate those all as "1", just because it does not suit my taste? Or actors I do not find to my taste?

Ratings should be available after several episodes, not the first one or two.

BTW, I am not defending this drama. I haven't even seen it yet. Also, my comment equally applies to dramas which are highly rated after just an episode or two.
