Person Ni Ni
One of the most underrated actresses. I wish she would do more dramas
While I understand why some might *feel* Ni Ni is underrated—especially if they’re outside China—the data and industry recognition tell a different story. She’s actually one of China’s most celebrated actresses:

- Award-Winning Talent:
Debuted in Zhang Yimou’s *The Flowers of War* (2011), winning Best New Performer at the Asian Film Awards, and recently took home the Golden Deer Award (2023) for *Lost in the Stars*.

- Box Office Dominance:
Her films gross massively (*Lost in the Stars* earned **¥3.5B/$483M** in 2023).

- Global Influence:
A Gucci ambassador since 2017 and face of Lancôme/Tiffany & Co.—brands that only partner with top-tier stars.
- Critical Acclaim: Lead roles in hits like *The Rise of Phoenixes* (Douban 8.1) and consistent award nominations (Golden Rooster, Magnolia).

Her work isn’t ‘underrated’; it’s **highly respected within China and increasingly recognized worldwide**. If anything, she’s proof that talent + hustle *does* get its due! 🙌

Concerning dramas, it's a personal choice, she works on movies much more than dramas. Good news, two dramas of her were confirmed today in Tencent Conference, so I am looking forward to watch them when they will come out.

im glad the barely 20 year old character was actually taken seriously. her self awareness and breaks in characters were so good but even more tragic. i thought she was going to be passed of a comedic character with no acknowledgement of how messed up her situation was, but then seeing what happened and how the characters felt immense sadness and guilt was bittersweet. i was worried throughout the whole show it was just going to be comedy of women in the industry and men being sleazy, which it was but in a way that was actually satirical, it criticised its concepts, chracters and it was really aware of the harms.

it couldve been developed more and had more episodes to truly flesh out its concepts. not a perfect kdrama, but it was clear the writer was someone who cared and i really appreciate that.

Aren't these guys tired of telling the same stories over and over again?

When did they even add romance tag here😭it feels misleading for future viewers. When their expectations won't…
the romance tag is for 2L couple

Not her fault, she probably only gets offers for those type of roles. I think Kdramas are only good at typecasting actors and actresses. I don't know if they feel they can't trust the Korean audience.

If you watch many Korean movies/dramas you realize the same people play the same roles. Mothers,Fathers,Chaebols,Villians

If you're a cute face, then they just want to sell that. Song Hye Kyo has explained that she never got any other offers because everyone assumes she's just a pretty face.

Kudos to the actor who played the psychopath, he truly did a great job. Hopefully, he's not like that in real…
Bro was creepy af😂😂😂

I really can't tell if they will push the romance in the last episode or not. first of all one episode for this many things to resolve is ridiculous so if they put romance it will probably take at most 10 minutes. but all these hints and the way they look at each other... it's definitely not just an admiration or something like that oh come on now. you don't end episode with leads looking at each other like that and then call it admiration but not in a romantic way. let's see how will they resolve this tomorrow

weekly Kdramas are getting shorter and shorter.
I like when they are shorter. 😭 the 16 ep ones can drag on too long.

Idk, I didn’t really notice the age difference, of course, he does look older than most of the other cast members but it’s not that drastic. (On the other hand all Koreans - in entertainment industry, actors etc - usually look younger than their age to me)

All the other main cast members that played classmates are in their twenties and most of them didn’t look that much like 18 or younger high schoolers, they look like they’re in their early twenties, I guess that’s okay, for a movie.

He still looks slightly older than all of them though, it wasn’t a big problem for me while watching (especially that it’s not a very deep movie, just something nice and cute with a bit of a story) and I don’t think he should catch so much heat for that, just not play high schoolers in the future.

Actually female lead is more like a support role here. This is mainly about power struggle between ML and his…
I do think it important to note tho, that in the JOL Universe, the most important person that has ever lived, was a women. She was an incredible inventor, scientist, philosopher, she was the wealthiest person from her business endeavors and that was the least remarkable thing about her.

The inscription on the monument left me not only speechless due to its incredible similarity to the Declaration of Independence and JOL being one of the most of the popular shows in China - it changed the way I see China, not wholly, it was literally propaganda but it was incredibly effective. The CCP has claimed for a long time China will be a Democracy - they can definitely talk the talk, I was impressed. I was also floored that it was delivered by a women. She is the center of the political, economic, scientific, etc JOL world - its quite remarkable.

Yes, this is a male centric drama - I don't believe women are discounted tho.
