Not everything has to be about romance. If you know that you don't like this type of genre then why bother posting…
I know it's not a fan forum but complaining that there's no romance when it's not supposed to be a romance is unnecessary. No one is forcing you to watch this đ
Great but it's too slow paced. Could've been better with maybe 30 episodes But still the story was cool. It gave the vibe and look of an early 2000's wuxia
I enjoyed today's episodes. They really highlight the transition of the series. We are moving in to development now.
Not a dull moment in this series so far. FL is doing her part. It's rare that we get to see women in authority. We have a well respected matriarch, and a respected female entrepreneur and ink engineer. Growing in a field dominated by men who deemed women unfit to take part in the ink business.
The best part is that this is not a continual male rescue mission. Where the men save the women all the time.
Our lead is handling things well with support from the men but not full rescues.
that means a lot in drama world. She even leant a helping hand to the male characters. Helping Jing Dong find peace, helping Qi Jiu get back on his feet and supplying new tech to all the elders which will help them maintain cash flow.
Loving it. The art aspect, business aspect, and the family aspect. I'm really enjoying this series.
No complaints. Thankfully the writers knew when to let go of the villain. Toodles, Boo! đ
I am amazed by how the question of environmental sensitivity is so seamlessly woven into the fabric of this drama, from the panoramic scenes of pinewood forests (what beautiful cinematography!) to the landscape artistâs comment about pine forests being cut down to produce ink which is then used to paint scenes lamenting the destruction of those very same pine forests (so thought provoking!), the pine wilt disease and the steps needed to regenerate pine forests and the serendipitous discovery of rosin, whose use could potentially protect these forests. How masterfully these ancient Chinese dramas are transformed into allegories for modern China and by extension the modern world! Truly Chinese drama as a cultural medium is just way ahead of all the superficial TV shows coming from the west and its vassals in the east.

The fourth aunt's revenge was unwarranted. She relentlessly persecuted the innocent FL and the family. What happened…
I feel you missed the point there... I feel that conversation between 4th Aunt and Granny was very much on point.... Granny started off soft reminding her how devoted 4th Uncle was towards 4th Aunt and how passionate their romance was. She admitted that despite disagreeing with the spiteful words 4th Aunt kept uttering , grandma had a soft spot for her due to her devotion to her son...coz she was a relatively new bride who was widowed just within 6months of marriage... She could have left the Li family and re-married but she didnt and stayed in that family for years.....and while 4th Aunt felt her feelings were being affirmed. ...Grandma brought her to ground and said very wise words... She reckoned that 4th Aunt was extremely ambitious and it was her who instigated her husband to go to the capital to avoid others from being able to earn merit... She very accurately pointed out that Maybe if 4th Aunt had not been so greedy, her Husband could have avoided the accident so the One she actually hates is herself and her Hatred is gravely misdirected. She hit her right where it hurt....but unfortunately Tian Jiang Yue has lived with her obsession for over 13 years, its not an easy feat to make such people see the reality.
If I had this much non-stop drama in my family I would personally disown all of them myself. I would voluntarily become an orphan and exile myself to another province. She hasn't had a single normal week where someone in her family wasn't doing something annoying. It's exhausting.

your comment made me giggle. But very true. she should have just minded her own business and stick to the New Li ink shop. though I like her dynamic with her uncle and her cousin, at least they're working in the inkshop, the rest of the Li family are leeches.
Everyone is complaining, whereas I still enjoy the drama and look forward to the new episodes. I do like the friendship…
I get it many are not used to slow pacing dramas. Someone earlier replied to my comment and said they are used to it but the plot isnât moving along just repeating itself. the plot is moving along but because the aunt hasnât got her due justice you feel as if each scheme she does, each set back Li Zhen faces is repetitive and not moving along. This drama has 42 episodes weâre only in ep.26 the drama has to make its way through the journey in order to get to where Li Zhen will end up. The drama once chanced its title name as The Legend of Li Zhen but returned it back to Jiaye aka The Heir. The actual name Jiaye means âfamily business.â Not sure how they all thought this drama wouldnât focus on that. Iâm also enjoying it and canât wait to binge watch it.
This is why one can not trust MDL ratings. This is a very solid show. At least 8.5, up to at least 9.0 rating.
your welcome S+ is like top tier drama ratings high quality, high volume and performance. The heir has been solidified as that. Yang Zi drama is doing well spite its being up against The Lead, and other dramas. Itâs holding its on. Even when ratings stalled for a few days it climbed back. Now itâs climbing each day with each episode. The douban was initially predicted at 6.1 because of 1.0 star bombing but now itâs predicted 7.5 and 8.0 it could still debut at 6.1. Sheâs had dramas with low douban scores but high ratings BCE was one of them. That drama BCE is still one of Tencent cash cow besides LYF.

I liked the "filial" storytelling
and appreciated that there was a win without a war.
thankfully Benchang had other things to do.

I do like the friendship between Li Zhen and Qi Jiu, hope he'll reveals his identity soon.
