i have every high hopes for this, hopefully it doesn't follow the same format of lxy's previous dramas where he spends the first half of the drama trying to kill the fl before falling madly in love with her. like pls we really need a good costume drama with solid writing

I like IU a lot and think Byeon Seok needs acting lessons (but has great visuals so he is getting by) but this seems like a nice gesture that many colleagues and friends on set do for each other. In itself it's not bad imo, I've liked drama in past with triangle,
BUT when 99,99% Kdramas with Romance Feature love triangle, you begin to resent the trope, and the fact that screenwriters go lazy route and lack creativity.....

YuJingX proved top scholar examinations is a joke. have never seen any drama where top scholar had zero redeeming quality.

Everything was good, but the ending could be better.

1. Is it really necessary to kill General Mo? The director did it again! He killed Wei Liang in Prisoner of Beauty and General Mo in The Road to Splendor. It has nothing to do with the plot!!! Just trauma!!
Just like how the emperor saved Zhao Ling, he could have saved General Mo! Even General Mo was with the emperor when he did not even become the emperor!!!

2. After all the dirty work the Yu family has done, this is their ending??? Ok we can except master Yu's death, but don't forget Madam Yu was also the mastermind. Why pardon her? And young master Yu? What do you mean Zhao Ling killed Zhu Jian because he had ill intentions towards Fu Ting Yun, but you are doing nothing with Yu Jing Xiu when he clearly kidnaped Fu Ting Yun!!!

Otherwise, this is a 10/10 drama for me, and the character Zhao Ling is in my favorite general list!!! Both main leads had great chemistry. I mean, I just love this drama. I am so obsessed now that the drama is end don't know what I am gonna do!!! This drama deserve more highest rating!!!

We don't get to unsee what has happened to each character and their interactions. The drama is already wrapped up. The actors, director worked off the script.

You don't have to like how the 2ML was written but he's not the best option for the FL.

Moving to LA to after three dates is nonsensical.

She wasn't happy with the 2ML as a romantic interest and chose to put him back on the shelf as an idol to like as a fan.
