Living in the US and not knowing much of her story other than what I read here. I pray that her close friends and family are there for her. I just fear we are seeing this whole thing unfold into such a tragic story. This young woman deserves a life and one she can live on her terms. Seems so many others are trying to define her story. I just hope those close to her protect her at all costs...
I think Xiao Jue, deep down, knows that the He Yan he knows, the one who has fought for him, bled for him, been blinded for him, and been endlessly loyal to him, did not purposely send the troops late. Because if he did, if he truly thought that, he would have killed her on the bridge. But when she said that she wanted to discover the truth about what happened, he agreed to let her instead of killing or banishing her. It’s not just because he is hopelessly in love with her, I’m convinced that somewhere in his subconscious he knows it couldn’t have been her. He just hates that she lied to him
For better or worse, in the history (?) of C-Dramas, there was no situation when the FL is more powerful/more…
Yeah, it's extremely rare in the Big Dramas, I would have to think it through, It happens more in Short or Micro Dramas, though, usually in comedy settings. "The great general who quelled the war was actually a beauty who captivated the country." (no link on MDL based on the actress's profile) is a nice exception and decent Micro Drama fitting it.
I like Smart Female Leads (He Yan should be one of them), and I understand the writers having to complicate things in the storyline.
However, as we hear He Yan's thoughts when she is thinking over things and making plans, I would really expect her to consider the pros and cons of revealing her identity to the ML by herself, probably around the moment when she started to gain his trust.
I would understand if she persuaded herself not to do it, but for a capable Female General, I'm bothered that she didn't even consider a move like that. I guess, Lu Songli spoiled me too much with her decision-making skills.
However, I'm bothered by a million things in this Drama, so it's just one of them.
Who is stronger and more accomplished, General Feihong or General Fengyun?
Most C-dramas, probably because of the dictatorial Chinese government, are all very similar you think the woman is going to be a badass, but in the end she just becomes a housewife and gets saved by the male lead multiple times.

Yes, she was, but her husband wasn't strong at all. That's the conundrum.
The moment the husband or the love interest is a strong/powerful fighter on his own (as part of "Power Couple"), he will always be presented as the stronger one, typically leading to him saving the FL over and over again, making her look weaker and weaker in the end.
what a lovely soul
She is seen and loved
