Probably at 28 where she also chop off all her left fingers before getting kicked out for poisoning JBN. Now that they have consummated, I hope the poisoning did not cause JBN to miscarriage or I will be pissed. Just chopping off her fingers won’t be enough.

25 and 26 seem to deal with the GMR money laundering issue ending with the cousin and uncle getting punished. Also a bit of side story with the sister it seems. 27 looks to totally be filler and 28 is GMR poisoning JBN then chopping her fingers and get kicked out. 29 and 30 is main plot it seems. I would’ve preferred more lighthearted fluff but this is not a romcom but a political drama at its core so I’ll just be content with what we have. I guess from 29 onwards it’s going to be all serious.

Because while they cannot go against the royal family, they need LQ to have children to continue their family bloodline. LQ is a soldier and is at risk of dying at any moment. If let's say they're not allowed to have sex for 2 years then during that time if LQ dies then the bloodline is over. It's the tradition during that time and even the royal family would reluctantly agree if they found out. The best they can do that time is to take JBN away. During that time, women's most important role is to give birth. If they can't do that then they might as well not be there or else risk getting usurped by another women that managed to give birth for the man. It's the same from the empress to the peasants.

Yup. If it was in a real life situation, I'm sure Qing Ke would've been made a chambermaid for LQ and will be made his concubine eventually if she's lucky. Remember he is not allowed to have sex with JBN for maybe months or years so to prevent him from fooling outside she will offer her maid as replacement instead. At least she would know about it and it will keep him in the household. If she's unlucky then she would've been sold to other man once he's done with her. That's just the fate of women during those times. Totally unfair.

Yes because the things she has done is not that major? Did she kill anyone? Did she commit a betrayal so dire that many people got hurt or died? What she did is just being a troublemaker that causes minor issues which is easily solved or blocked. More or just being a child that refuses to grow up. You do realize asking her to accept a concubine is already different treatment than other women right? If it were under normal circumstance he would just tell LQ to take a concubine directly and not lower himself to grovel in front of a women asking for approval. You do know women have lesser rights compared to men that time right? During those times even if the wife might be unhappy, she has no right to stop the husband from taking a concubine if he wanted to.

Damn episode 28 trailer is intense. I hope it's a misunderstand and the wrong person got blamed but if not then GMR is really becoming unredeemable and to me don't deserve a happy ending anymore.

Not if JBN agrees to it. It doesn't matter whether Grandma allows it or not if JBN agrees to it. That's the whole point of giving her complete control of her choices to choose how her life will be going forward. It's not yeah you get to choose to marry or kill one person for once in your life and after that everything else is not up to you anymore.

Also, the people that post here for this drama is also unusually toxic lol. Everyone is so violent lol. It's a drama with a happy ending. Almost everyone will get a happy ending so just watch the drama and enjoy it while it lasts.

It's not a marriage certificate. It's a marriage agreement made between the two fathers to get their children to marry each other a long time ago. The princess marriage is granted by the kingdom so the father have no choice but let the princess be the wife of LQ. However, the father said it is not fair to GMR if the agreement is not enforced since it has been decided a long time ago. That is why the father is asking JBN to be generous and accept GMR as LQ's concubine. Basically the father is stuck in the middle in that situation too the same like JBN.

To be honest all the shortcomings can be solved with just a bit of a scene change. Just do it like this and all will be fine with me:

Hotel Room scene: The same except SY did not have sex with XJ so XJ wake up feeling bad and flustered because she kissed SY

Wedding scene: Have SY interacting with another girl during the wedding and cause XJ to think that’s the gf and be upset. Proceed normally like in the episode until she got the flower bouquet. Have the same girl trying to pull SY away and let XJ see it. She then become so upset that she decide to confess her love to him right then and there in public even if he already have a gf so there’s no regrets in her. Then SY will have his speech and propose to her. Who the other girl is and why she was interacting with SY doesn’t matter because not enough time to clarify in the drama lol.

Now that I think about it, they just needed to add XJ's surprise confession first during the wedding before the proposal and I would be totally fine with everything else. I just needed to see XJ take the initiative for once in front of everyone and that would be good enough for me. The bed scene don't make me satisfied since I am not watching porn and I am watching a romance drama so confessions and show of love is very important to me.

What a wasted opportunity.

But she did not confess anyway right? I don't recall seeing any scene where she told SY she liked him. Unless of course we all just assume she confessed by sleeping with him while she's drunk. Then I guess sure SY's plan worked.

Damn now I feel sad if she really never said she likes or love him to his face directly even once in the drama. Did I miss out any scenes? Dream sequences don't count.

It's a last try as per your reasoning. There's nothing to lose anymore. And confessing is not proposing. Heck if you propose to someone after not seeing them for a few years with no contact whatsoever they would reject you even if they love you. The propose scene only works in dramas and it's fine.

Err what? If that was the purpose then the moment he saw XXJ's reaction in the office he would've stopped but noooo he continued to play mind games with her to further break her heart. I didn't know that's how you test someone's love for you. Try breaking her heart and see her reaction. Damn SY is such a sadist.

Yes it was rushed so why the need to defend the last few episodes? You would defend it if the last few episodes were good but people didn't like it but we all agree the last few episodes was not good and doesn't really make sense. The only thing everyone likes is the last scene. All the previous scenes just aren't that good and don't make much sense. In the end SY just became a doormat accepting everything unconditionally

Again another reasoning. If it was his last try then there's no need for any testing. XXJ don't have history of playing with SY's love in the past to get what she wanted from him so test on what basis? They were best friends for a long time so obviously she would care for him. Not to mention he was the one who left without telling her anything and after that never contact her anymore for a few years so if she moved on and doesn't care about him anymore can he blame her? Or your reasoning would be SY expects her to never move on for the rest of her life and resign herself to be a nun never liking or marrying anyone else?

If it was a last try then all he had to do was to confess one last time. He would have nothing to lose since he built a life without her already anyway.

See once again you have to come out with a reason for the characters in the drama. This is why they said it's lazy writing. The writing is so poor that the viewers have to come out with their own reasons to justify the character's actions. And your reason of him coming back to try one last time is by creating more misunderstanding? Real genius move there by SY if we were to take your reasoning.

Go on. I am waiting for your reasoning for why SY create more misunderstandings on his so called last try.

The ending was rushed and there's no one that can deny that. No point trying to defend the last few episodes by coming out with so many reasons. As in chinese dramas, XXJ would need to show how much she love SY before the happy ending. All the things she did in the last few episodes were so minimal and not to mention it's not even known to SY then all of a sudden boom happy ending just doesn't make sense. Heck even the fans of the drama had to come out with the reason that CL probably cleared the misunderstand that caused SY to go overseas. What bullshit is that? If it's not shown in the drama then it didn't happen. No matter what you think happened doesn't matter.

Just to be clear, I am not saying the ending is bad. I believe the ending is what everyone here wants and there will be no complaints in the final scene. It's the process to get to the ending that is making everyone not satisfied. They really should have cut a lot of bullshit in episode 33 and 34 and make 34,35, and 36 focus solely on their reconciliation and relationship and not create more misunderstandings. It won't save the lazy writing but at least it would've showed that they tried.

Why would XXJ know he didn't have a gf when he slept with her? Drama rules that only single people can sleep with each other? Even during the trip XXJ was thinking that he is just playing with her. Flirting with her then giving her the gift then leave without telling her made her misunderstand more. And she was drunk out of her mind when she slept with SY. I doubt she can even 100% be sure who slept with but then again it was never mentioned again during the wedding so who knows what she thinks. Oh and I understand mandarin so I don't have to wait for subs to know what happened.
