From the moment youku released teasers about this series last year, I've already checked the feedback and reactions…
Haha if this is your first Xian Xia be very careful watching others!!!
You've been very spoilt!!! A lot of them a very one dimensional and tropy. I don't mind tropes myself but a lot of them are really tedious and don't make sense (even within the universe they're created in. It's incredibly random).
So beware the bar has been set pretty high with Starry Love!
I hope we get a good ending not just reviving the twin tree or finding their souls but that we get to see them…
I agree with you. But on the whole the drama has given us many happy moments and very satisfying angst so I wouldn't be too angry if the ending is a cop out. Disappointed but it wouldn't ruin the whole drama for me.
There was one I watched that had neverending angst and bitterness. Every good moment was a damn dream. I got ragey over the ending of that one.
I feel like Starry Love has delivered enough. Would be amazing if it can end on a high note commensurate with the rest of the writing but on the whole I'm satisfied.
I also appreciate that there isnt a Biqiong in mortal world to create misunderstanding😅
Yes it was so refreshing that her issues in the mortal realm weren't about some crazy banshee who was also in love with YQ. It's been done to death and it's just boring, predictable and infuriating.
Her trial was taming the three shards and then needing to accept that she was upending their lives to save YQ.
Loving Heavenly Empress who is all "F this, I don't want to be married to you."
There's a lot of girl power in this series without it being tediously hammered at us! I love that the female characters all have a lot of agency. They're all strong women but strong women come in different packages. They don't all need to be loud and boorish!
Actually they were all incredible during that very traumatic scene in 35. EVERYONE had the perfect, nuanced reaction based on his/her relationship to QK.
I've been rewatching the episodes over and over too. YQ is the dorkiest in whichever version!
I just love that he's so upfront. Even as YQ1.0.
Normally they suppress their love and whatnot. Even though he had his emotions/memories in those bubbles he straight up told her that he was gonna be ragey about her remarrying and to make sure he doesn't break out of his tomb. Then freaked out and turned her into a walnut.
Male Leads are NEVER like that. They're always too cool for school, high and mighty and "I have the world on my shoulders I have no time for love."
I was thinking about that three shards and it's such a wonderful storyline.
1. La Mu is the one she has a soft spot for. I would say that in terms of pure love she probably loves him the most. I would wager that she'd protect him first because he's had such a rough life and is so innocent.
2. Heartless to me was like her best buddy. They seemed to have a lot to talk about, came up with schemes together, got up to mischief. They had the same hobbies and loved each other's company.
3. Wen Ren is the one whose bones she wants to jump. She was very attracted to and tempted by him. Lots of references how he was going to seduce her rather than her seduce him.
The three of them make up YQ. Hehe or "Fifth" as Chao Feng would say🤣
SUCH a clever and unique way to approach the mortal arc. This brings this drama right up there as a classic for me.
I'm rewatching a few eps (yeah yeah I know I'm lame, this is what I do) and one of the cutest scenes was when YQ1.0 had a fit after YT told him she intended to remarry.
He was so adorable. Told her to seal him in a tomb so he wouldn't get jealous and turned her into a walnut. 🤣
Walnut gag is just one of the many low-key highlights of this show.

I did like that CF pleaded for his Father though. He's grown leaps and bounds from the early eps. Qing Kui would have been proud.

Omg Landi is amazing!!!!!

I'd go on a pub crawl with Chao Feng but it would be platonic.
YQ on the other hand...all those repressed emotions *fans self*

There's a few other dramas out. Perhaps try your luck with those.
She has a lovely voice too. They should let her use it in all the dramas.
