Special mention to DLJ teaching Heavenly Princess “bad words” in beast language. Those two are a Masterclass in how to effectively write a supporting side romance with limited screen time. They have a great love story with cute moments and logical progression!
Omg Wu Dai is the cutest! I love how he is always crying about Qing Kui and not afraid to own it! Snake Saintess is lovely as well and not a nut job even though she has a crush on Wu Dai.
I loved it when Wu Dai said to her “I heard they don’t want to marry you because you’re ugly but I think you’re pretty.” Bless him he’s so precious.
I love the offbeat heroes in this series. YQ, La Mu, Heartless, Wu Dai. Definitely not that suave and a bit awkward but so adorable.
Last episode this time next week guys! I can’t believe it. It’s been amazing. I am dreading the inevitable angst but hopeful they will continue the excellent writing.
I love all the CPs, except Qing Heng and that girl. Not a fan of her and I really like him so that’s a bummer. But I digress!
Dai Lan Jue and Heavenly princess is especially well executed for the limited time they have.
I’ve seen some spoilers and Wu Dai is mega cute too! This is actually a rare drama when the couples are very well written from main to supporting characters.
I’ve come to the conclusion that it is inevitable that the interwebs must fight about everything! 😂
I have finally caught up! CXX is adorable. SDYQ is my kind of guy! I think he has a super cute and cuddly chemistry with Landi. Gimme my cheek kiss damnit!
Winning so far for me is the mortal arc. She was willing to let her three boys live out their lives and found a plan to keep them safe. Usually the mortal versions are like spares, discarded for the sake of story. I liked them addressing that maybe SDYQ doesn’t need to be back to bear a giant burden and his shards should be left alone. One of the best mortal arcs ever imo.
I liked that Chao Feng came back to save his troops and QK went with him. There are some things that you cannot set aside for love. Good on them!
Also….omg…it is so sensible that they left Hai Chao to take care of Consort Xue. You rarely see people act sane like that. Usually someone sacrifices and others do dumb things like tag along and cause more trouble.
When Mei YouQing sacrificed his precious gold to save YT it really warmed my heart. But it downright melted when…
I feel like Hai Chao and Chao Feng are more like brothers than master and servant. They’re a one unit team. Chao Feng might call the shots but I never get the impressions that the relationship is unequal. I get the vibe that Hai Chao can do his own thing if he wants but he chooses to stay in his role because they are a team.
I really like the time spent on Ye Tan's angst about her three boys. This is truly a unique take on the quintessential Mortal Trial in xian xia. I love it!
