I am suddenly finding MDL more entertaining than ever..ππππ...some mad ,psychopath since they lack…
It is indeed very mad! There are several dramas that have bored me, dramas where I am not a fan of the actors etc. I stop watching and move on! Honestly it's not very hard!
What kind of special @ssh@le runs into a forum where people ARE enjoying the drama to repeatedly have meltdowns! Honestly if I did this I would be questioning my own sanity! Why do I hate ABCDEFG Drama so much that I am chasing it around and having a fit?
I used to enjoy her reviews but now for the most part I find them selectively nit picky. I am getting the sense that with a larger following and more views, this reviewer is creating her own echo chamber. No harm in that, it's a way to make income off social media but this is why I now take her reviews with a grain of salt. I have also tried to watch several dramas that have received positive reviews from her and by and large, I find them very tedious.
One thing that I have a bone to pick with though is the lack of critical thinking. One of her favourite rants is that dramas are unoriginal and the writers are insulting the audiences' intelligence. Perhaps at the end of a long day the audience just wants to see a handsome male lead, catch a pretty female lead in the air and go "Squeeeeeeeeee." Tropes are tropes for a reason. Many tropes have a huge fanbase. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a tropey drama that requires a certain amount of suspension of disbelief! We are not accepting "trash" dished out by the industry on our search for something with "higher meaning." I just want to see YY piggyback YD darn-it and I don't care if they do it fives times in the series!
I have to put out my 2 cents of how different YY and YD are. After she gave her literal heart to him and mistaking…
I felt like after he didn't admit that he loved her on the bridge, he went off the rails after she jumped. I got the vibe from the Heavenly Emperor that YY checked out after that. I like that in the writing.
Yes he was stoic, yes he took on the fate of the realm but he was over it! I don't think even he knew he'd be over it as he was always wanting to do the right thing. It was like a learning process for him. That he's not a robot and that he's changed after meeting YD.
Yu Mo is a nice guy and I think the actor and writing for the part is fine. I suspect that if YY was a different character (more aloof and cold) Yu Mo would have more fans.
The issue with poor Yu Mo is that he faces a brooding male lead with hints of playfulness. YY is clearly very smitten with YD and quite indulgent and affectionate towards her. He's got a silly side (seriously signing stuff as the snail girl) but is also this tortured soul. It's really hard to compete with that imo.
I myself have a personal dislike for aloof/grumpy MLs who run cold and send bizzare signals but I find YY utterly charming. YD brings out a boyish side of him that he doesn't try to repress when he's with her. Make me swoon πππ
I love that TZ kinda thinks YD (Beautiful Bai!!!!!! π€£π€£π€£) is shady but he's not sure that she's shady so he's going along with it and gets tricked by her π€£
It evokes the same warm and fuzzy feelings from me as from when they were in the Heavenly Realm. It's different but he's still got that same indulgence towards her.
I'm probably not explaining myself very well but I feel that the relationship dynamics are so well written and acted. There's a consistent current running, yet they are starting over again.
I love how flirty and subtle YY is even in the beginning episodes. He tells the lamp lady βdonβt mess with…
I was just telling hubby about this!
YY constantly has the Heavenly Emperor dude harping at him about the evils of love etc etc yet he decides to pursue his fascination with the chaotic, larger than life YD.
I find it fascinating that he went there at all because it was obvious that he was setting himself up to play with fire by staying so close to her. It's so well done though because YY doesn't run hot and cold. None of that "aloof mentor who wears white" nonsense. Despite all the "can't fall in love" rhetoric, he's more than happy to spend time with her and it's a pretty functional relationship if you take out all the external evil stuff.
Omg I love this show!!!!! Loooooove!!! Normally I'm not into this kind of thing, the multiple lives and all the deities tend to confuse me but omg this show is glorious!!!!!
Yan Dan is so adorable and chaotic. Her transformation in the first 19 eps broke my heart. I'm rewatching the earlier eps (yeah I finally caught up and now I'm waiting like everyone else) and although she started out super boisterous, her slow descent into angst is so well done.
The actor who plays YY is fantastic. I love that he's NOT camera conscious. When YY is perplexed or amused by Yan Dan, you see it in his mind, in his head what he's thinking. Many of the handsome actors I've seen are very camera conscious imo, kinda posey and it ruins the moment for me. The YY actor blends so seamlessly into his role.

I'm going to say him! YD is too busy trying to hustle him I think π€£
