Destined(2023) doesn't completely follow the novel as well, but they did a better job in some parts, in my opinion. that's why it come out way better than what we have here(I mean about the adapting thing).

No, the part about his family being affected if he kills Li Chuan. If he kills Li Chuan, it won't impact his family because he's only doing what the current emperor wants. So, his family won't be affected at all. He's not naive.

Oh my goodness... they did so unbelievably cheap this scene... Today's episode was such a letdown. The only thing I actually enjoyed was Mai Mai's acting. She totally nailed it. Shouldn't they have gotten permission from the author to make this into a drama? Seriously... did he actually give the green light for this? They had all the time to show falling off a cliff in slow motion, but why didn't they show PWX's shock and hesitation before going back to save Li Chuan? In the Novel, it vividly describes how PWX's hand trembled uncontrollably from his intense emotions as he fought off the enemies to rescue Li Chuan. And when Li Rong heard PWX call her name from the cave, she immediately rushed into his arms despite having a broken leg, rather than waiting for PWX to come to her.

That guy SRQ is totally a psycho, that's for sure. That's why Li Rong keeps telling him to let go of the past and focus on making a better future. I remember Li Rong mentioning this a few times in the drama. In the next episode, SRQ will explain to Li Rong why he's so obsessed with keeping Li Chuan from taking the throne. It's like everything to Li Chuan is about maintaining the power balance and he doesn't care about anything else and bala bala bala. He's just explaining that Li Chuan only cares about power balance and nothing else. If anything threatens that balance, he'll get rid of it without a second thought, which is one of the reasons why he ordered to kill Li Rong. He's trying to explain him as a human scum. Then Li Rong starts to think about it and realizes that what he's saying might be true, given the power she holds at that time. Honestly, I feel the same way, but PWX said at the beginning of the drama that, about something Li Chuan started to get twisted little by little even though initially he only cared about the people he loved But as he started to lose them one by one and was left only with his sister, whom he couldn't trust(due to the conspiracy), he gradually became someone Li Rong couldn't recognise anymore. So, I kinda understand why Li Chuan might have gone mad by that time.

Li Chuan won't ever do that. He never orders anything to SRQ. It's more like the one he ordered is Shangguan Ya. And because Shangguan Ya and SRQ are in cahoots, that's why SRQ is involved in the poisoning situation. The reason why Li Chuan killed the entire Su family is because Su Rong Hua is the one who ended up killing Qin Zhen Zhen to hide Shangguan Ya and his dirty deeds. That's why when Li Rong begged for his life, he still castrated him. If he didn't fear Li Rong at that point, he would never let him live.

Don't worry too much about why Li Chuan wanted her dead in the past life, it's a complicated thing. While on his deathbed, he commanded the order, similar to how Li Rong had ordered the assassination of PWX. It happened because Li Chuan fell into a conspiracy aimed at breaking the two siblings' relationship. If they united, no one could go against them in the past life, which is why the noble faction did that. In the upcoming episode, Li Chuan intentionally follows her sister so more assassins will come after him, hoping this will improve her sister's chance of survival. Li Chuan ends up covered with wounds and so messed up that it can't be sure whether he will be dead or not. When he briefly regains consciousness, the only thing he asks from PWX is whether his sister is safe or not. At that point, PWX lies to him that she is safe, which PWX doesn't know yet. Li Chuan easily sees through it, gets agonized, and then loses consciousness again. Then PWX will go to find Li Rong.

No, You're wrong about that. The plan is to assassinate Li Chuan and replace him with a puppet prince. so the noble family can have their way. The SU family will be spared because they are loyal to the current emperor and did his bidding by removing Li Chuan as he wanted. If anyone is to be made a scapegoat, it will likely be the clueless second princess.

It's a bit like the novel, but the novel really emphasizes PWX in this particular scene not SRQ

SRQ is way more guilty so he can't actually have feelings for her. He's not going to change, absolutely not. He's just a psycho like Li Rong mentioned before picking up PWX from prison in the novel. They didn't include that part in the drama. His sole purpose in life is to kill Li Chuan, and that's all that matters to him.

Just saw the preview for episode 33 and I'm a bit skeptical. I can't help but feel like they are about to mess it up totally. I genuinely believe that the next scene is one of the most important and glorious moments in the novel. So, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

Perhaps she's a teenager. Let's not be too harsh about it. If I had watched this as a teenager, I might have preferred a more steamy romance rather than what we see here. However, I honestly believe that this bit of dull romance fits this drama much better because they have the memories of their past lives and they are literally grandma and grandpa.

SRQ is not obsessed, he's just guilty as fuck...!!! I mean, he's been poisoning Li Rong for years while pretending to care for her, even though she's never done anything wrong and has saved his life multiple times. He has no valid reason to hate her, but both he and Shangguan Ya want her power. So, he's feeling extremely guilty, which is why he's behaving this way, not out of love or anything like that. What he really wants is not to let her have any power and to put a puppet on the throne instead of Li Chuan. So noble faction and SRQ can rule the country as they fit. Sick Bustard right?

I don't think so, the emperor favours her because she has no ties with the noble faction. If she gets out of control, the emperor will distance himself from her.

SRQ controlled FL? That's news to me. It was more like she knew nothing about this incident and focused on gaining and keeping power. I highly doubt if she knew, she would even save SRQ at all.

Back in the day, Cdramas used to drop 2 episodes each day for 4 days per week. Nowadays, they release a single episode for the other 3 days. If this wasn't the case, we could have gone a whole 3 days without any new episodes.
