Can anyone recommend a drama with a similar feeling? Not necessarily a similar plot, but that fuzzy "dreamlike" feeling of being on the verge of reality, idk if that makes sense. I have rewatched this like 3 times already so I really want something new haha. I liked how this wasn't overly dramatic and was able to give me butterflies while also teaching some important life lessons. I have only watched 2 other dramas that (at least in my opinion) give off a similar "vibe", Extraordinary You (mostly for the dreamlike reality) and Reply 1988. Any others?
Can someone give me a better summary? I read the synopsis three times and it's too confusing to understand at 3 in the morning...maybe I'm just too tired.
The synopsis is such a spoiler imo though. The Empress only died at Ep40. I don't know for you but for me that's…
Yeah!! Good thing i avoided reading the whole synopsis when i first started this drama, but that's not something that happens early on, shouldn't be put in the synopsis.
Idk what made this drama so enjoyable that i rewatched it 3 times but there's just something about it that makes it special. I think the leads and their chemistry and their interactions, just something special about their relationship.
Wow what I've been missing out on...i am currently watching this for the first time, I only have 15 episodes to go and oh my god trust me when I tell you this show is damn addicting. I haven't slept these past 3 days, the pacing is perfect, I'll be so sad once i finish this, I already know.
It's been years since I've watched this and can't get over it. Any recommendations on a female centered historical…
Exactly! If you loved this one like I did, I think you'll also like Empresses in the Palace (it's veeeery similar, also about a concubine and palace drama).
I'm seeing some mix reviews in the comments. Is this drama worth the watch? I love the other dramas the scriptwriters…
Yeah, I watched all of the dramas you mentioned. This one is also a fantasy drama, it's a..."mesmerising" show, that's how I would define it. The music, the acting, the storyline of all the characters (you'll probably cry). It's aesthetically pleasing and I never felt bored watching it. But beware, this isn't just a cute romcom, it's more of a bittersweet drama. I really loved it.
This was so good omg. I watched without ANY expectations but damn this was heart fluttering and heart breaking in the best way possible. Also, 12 episodes were perfect and it didn't drag at all. It is also full of important life lessons, will definitely go back to it and rewatch it in the future, no pun intended.
I really liked it, but i especially liked how the ending wasn't rushed. It was a good drama, I loved the side characters, especially the soldiers and the wiretapper, they never failed to make me smile. The only flaw is that I couldn't really feel the chemistry between the leads, as some moments were overly-dramatic at times, but still, I liked it!

It may seem completely cliché due to the "arranged marriage" but the characters is what made this so enjoyable.
I think I'll rewatch this when i feel down in the future.
