The trailer got me hooked already....IT FEELS LIKE I WATCHED A HOLLYWOOD TRAILER WOW!
And there doesn't seem to be any dubbing...or is it that it's done so well it doesn't seem to be there? Either way I'm impressed! Oh and I find this time period to be so interesting...not many historical dramas are set in this time so this is exciting!
Not to talk about how both the female and male lead are such EYE CANDIES!
This show is so damn addicting...I wasn't expecting this at all!!! I wanted to have a "side show" to watch while I was waiting for new episodes of I Will Never Let You Go...and I ended up watching all the episodes that were out and now I'm left hanging...and the roles are inverted. I'm catching up on IWNLYG while waiting for new episodes of GBMP to come out....
After watching 30 episodes I still can't quite figure the characters' personalities out...the prince is one hell of a comolex character but it makes the show pretty unpredictable which is a plus in my book!
Oh and the costumes are simply MESMERIZING! The dresses (both the tribe & palace ones) are so nice, a pleasure to look at!
Although the ending could have been a liiitle bit better (it was very good, don't get me wrong...but maybe I would have wanted a different ending for some people...) i really loved it! It was very intense and Joo Won acting never ceased to amaze me! Oh and the character developement blew my mind! I loved how at the end I ended up loving so many of the characters who I used to LOATHE in the first few episodes! I loved ittttt!
WOW, where do I begin? I started this out of boredom after putting it off for THREE YEARS because I was afraid, for some weird reason, that I would end up dropping it anyways....CRAZY, right? But since Kill me heal me is one of my favorites and this one reminded me of it(and I was right, the feel is pretty similar to KMHM!) ...I decided to give this one a go. AND BOY WAS I RIGHT...Because this drama is such a gem! The story may seem pretty plain at first sight...you know, you have your cold chaebol who goes through a heart transplant and boom, he learns to love. WELL, IT'S SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT, and I feel so mad at myself for thinking this way before! This show was so cleverly written, everything from the plot to the way it was presented on screen (with all the cliff hangers, all the hints, all the twists and turns)....from the acting to the character developement (which, lemme tell ya, HAS TO BE ONE OF THE GREATEST IN DRAMALAND!) was done so well! I hated the antagonists (JOONHEE YOU SON OF A...) loved the protagonists and followed each episode with the same excitement as the first one! Also, kudos to the writers for not making the interactions between the two main actors cringey! You know how sometimes the main couple becomes cheesy towards the end...yeah, this isn't the case. This drama has a very natural developement and everything feels...normal? In a good way! Oh, and I must also add that the comedy was on point! Kang Bond's expressions never failed to crack me up!
So, to sum it up, it was an amazing drama that I recommend!
I'm currently watching Meteor Garden (2018 remake) and although I do like it NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is ever gonna beat this one in terms of the HYD series. All the other remakes seem mediocre when compared to this one...Guess Imma have to watch it again, for research purposes,of course....
i started this with no expectations at all and I thought I'd just get bored of it since I tend to drop slice-of-life dramas around episode 7/8 and I get very easily bored...BUT BOY WAS I WRONG.
The story seems kind of cliché and stuff and it may come off as unrealistic, but that's what makes this drama so good! It starts off with this cliché "contract marriage" plot but actually deals with super deep stuff and issues that are often overlooked! It hit me so hard on so many emotional levels...
Also, the writing was so good! Each time I was expecting something cliché to happen the writers would just blow me away with the unexpected turns and twists!
And although I was worried about the three couples (i was worried it would become boring...like, I'm the kind of person who likes having only one story to focus on at a time) but their stories turned out so well! Of course there was a main couple and their story was amazing but with those 4 dorks on the side it was impossible to ever get bored!
Such a great, mature and heart-warming show. I learned a lot from it! 10/10!
I was so impressed with how spectacular the voice actors were for the 3 main actors, just to find out that yang zi, leo luo and deng lun DUBBED THEIR OWN VOICES! that's why they fit so well!
and this just made me fall in love with this drama even more!
First off, I'm gonna miss my phoenix and my little grape elf!
But now onto the serious stuff: I went into this without many expectations but boy was i wrong! This drama was wonderful, i LOVED the leads, the antagonists, the cgi effects, the music, the story, EVERYTHING! I was expecting it to get boring or draggy in the middle or towards the end but it never failed to keep me at the edge of my seat, which not many dramas can do! I didn't skip anything and I tried to fully enjoyed every bit of it, because I thought, where am I ever going to find a drama as good as this? At first I thought it could only come close to Eternal Love, but now I'm thinking it's even better than it, which may come as a shock but truly, this has to be the best chinese drama i've ever seen ????????????❤❤❤
Such a good drama ???? so different from any other chinese drama i've seen...i don't know how to explain this but...just nothing near what i was expecting from it!
Oh and this is the best female lead ever! Not your usual whiny brat with an annoying voice!
Such a great drama! After watching Dong Yi (which became my favorite drama) I couldn't help but watch this one as well! But I was hesitating at first considering that this drama is almost as old as me and I was afraid it may not me as enjoyable as modern day dramas (I know, such an idiot...) BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. THIS BECAME MY 2ND FAVORITE AFTER DONG YI!
Everything was exceptional, from the plot, the cast, the acting, to the music, the romance and the cinematography! I cried, smiled and felt so do so many emotions throughout this series! This is definitely one of the best historical dramas out there and keep in mind that this is coming from someone who has put this drama down for YEARS because of the stupid reasons I mentioned above....
So don't put this down because you may think it's old/outdated! I mean, don't make the same mistake I did! this is such a masterpiece and uhh, I have no words!
Also, the romanceeeee❤❤❤ You know a drama is good when all the actors need to do is HUG in order for your heart to explode! And i just love Ji Jin Hee, he is just perfect for this kind of roles!
Enough blabbering. Just give this drama a go and you won't ever be disappointed!
i know Liu Cecilia was (or is?) a ballet but does she really need to stand or sit like she swallow a stick :/…
this has to be one of the weirdest reasons anyone could find to not like an actress.. I mean she has an amazing posture! it gives her such a classy look idk I love her
Is it Stockholm syndrome romance story?? It's remind me with cdrama the king's women.
No, the main lead isn't as bad as the description makes him out to be! He's actually very gentle and nice to the female lead (don't mind the first few episodes, that's what misled me as well as the beginning)

No, it's not, don't worry. I also dropped it once 2 years ago because I thought it would be one of those disturbing love stories that just don't feel right, but it wasn't. It was different from what I had expected and I'm so glad i gave this a second chance, and ended up giving it a 10/10.
THIS IS THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A BEAUTIFUL, TOUCHING AND HEART BREAKING STORY THAT'LL MAKE YOU GO THROUGH SO MANY EMOTIONS! The tears I shed watching this, man! But the ending was VERY satisfying!
I even dropped this 2 years ago but THANKS GOD i decided to watch it again and it's the best decision I've taken in a very long time!
Also, don't get me started on the acting which was phenomenal! I could feel those tears and the happiness!
