This drama was so exceptionally cast. Every actor fit their role perfectly and I'll always remember each of them. Especially the two younger actors carried the beginning of the show entirely on their shoulders and did it so well. I had to take about a 6 month break in the middle when it got too intense, but as soon as I picked it up again I remember, "yes, I remembered the opening scenes were so well shot I knew this was a well-told story."
I don’t know why, but I think she could join hands with Wang Tao Ji in Season 3, and maybe swerve to the good…
Yes, and I like how the series goes full noir with the music and the filmography, it's both funny and touching, so I will be waiting with baited breath for her next appearance in Season 3.
Yeah, I read that disclaimer to mean they are not trying to specifically malign a certain religion. As a Christian…
You may be right about the Korean laws.
Though I actually liked a lot of the Taxi Driver disclaimers, such as thanking the child actors for being out in the cold weather, etc, while also reassuring the viewers.
I'm so happy the cast is getting what they wanted, a season 3! It makes sense though for them to stay quiet until their management can work out schedules with the production team. I'm sure everyone on all sides wants their return and now the logistics of planning the season commence. But unless something goes terribly wrong then I'm optimistic we'll get our cast back with a continuation of the current storyline.
I have always wondered why disclaimers in Kdramas mention that the religion depicted in the drama is fake/doesn’t…
Yeah, I read that disclaimer to mean they are not trying to specifically malign a certain religion. As a Christian myself, I felt it was obvious that the Bishop was using Christian symbolism but also that he was blatantly a cult leader who has nothing to do with Christ. I assume he just called himself a priest and used the religion structure to try sway his follower's devotion, since that also happens with cults in the real world. I agree that it's pretty old to be using a fake-Christian like religion, but as a fan of this show it didn't offend me.
My biggest disappointment about season 2 was Madam Lim and Wang Tao Ji didn't even have a scene together 😩
Riight! I loved the setup in the beginning of the season and I think I was expecting her return until, as time passed, I realized we probably wouldn't see her again. BUT, hope springs eternal, with S3 she absolutely must come back and continue this noir cat and mouse game with him. :)
So funny! This is why I suppose actors try not to talk about each other since their words will always come back to them. But it would also feel stifling to not be able to ever talk about their thoughts or feelings, so I think we shouldn't keep asking people about something they said so long ago, lol.
Season 3 means there's hope for a return of MADAM LIM right! I loved the episodes she was in season 1 and story building on her appearance in season 2. Her relationship with Do Gi is humorous but there's enough there to keep me anticipating their next encounter.
When I learned she was returning for S2 I was excited to see her and also I admire the actress for that role. I think it's because we can relate to why Madam Lim (and everyone else) is attracted to Do Gi, even as an over-the-top character like that, and we can tell that she hasn't had anyone give her that attention. That's why the dynamic works because though it's so funny, there's pathos as well.
Can someone explain me the last part when does Moon Chae Won come?? what's exactly her role....???Is Do Hi return…
I wondered about that too since I know nothing outside of what we saw. My interpretation for why Do Ki didn't return her salute was either 1) he dislikes her because of something he knows or 2) he isn't "authentically" part of the military so he doesn't want to give a genuine salute in response?? Those were my thoughts as a viewer.
Now that Season 2 is almost done, I have to say that Kim Do Gi gotta be one of my favourite Kdrama male characters…
Your comment made me laugh. Yes he is quiet and he uses it so well to his advantage. I love him a lot, along with Ji Chang Wook's character in The K2, both have a lot of charisma and physically capable but also gentlemen and kind to children.
While I agree it's best to get the full story from S1, I actually thought the opening of Season 2 was a great introduction for people who hadn't seen it before. It really makes you curious about what happened before, but if you really want you could watch S2 and then go back to S1. (There are some events hinted at from S1 that made our villains really mad, but again, its more intriguing than needing to remember any specific details.)
