Baijue showed his helicopter style of overprotecting her from early on. He got moved first when he knew her trick to answer his quest. Then they got kind of "skin contact " while he tried to open her spritual circulartory system. He got serious injured by doing already. I don't think Zhi Yang or Tianqi can't help him with making the sword but he wanted to do it on his own only. There are several posts which mentioned the sword as his token of love :D .
