The thing about Chinese Republican era drama is that it could be a bore to watch, even though the story is interesting. It often lacks an entertainment component and feels more like a history show ðŸ¤.

It's so well described. But he was different in that drama where he played a younger lover to Liu Tao (Be Your Own Light). I do like his look though, quite manly.
OMG! This show is so sensibly written. I love it! Its humorous undertone makes it a delight to watch. All characters are amazing. I hope it keeps this pace.
Da Qiao is older. Da means big and Xiao means little. Their names are basically Big Qiao and Little Qiao.
Because she already had someone she loved while the younger sister didn't. In the scene where she was convincing her to leave, she mentioned this. She said, even though she liked the other guy as a child (the one she was supposed to marry and ended up being a terrible guy), she doesn't really feel that way about him anymore. The older cousin-sister, loves Bichi and instead of sacrificing her love, she the younger sister can as well do it.
At this point, I am just sticking this one out to finish it because what's with the resurrected issues between the couple? I mean, she waited by his bedside (after regaining her memory), waiting for him and praying he would wake up. She was all love-deovey, and out of nowhere, they remembered to take us back to them fighting over his initial dumping of her? Phew! It should have ended by episode 34 or so, then we wouldn't have to be flogging a dead horse to make up a storyline and drag the show to 40 episodes.
Just finished episode 9, and I just had to come check how many episodes this has. I do not feel 36 episodes are enough to cover the whole (too many moving chess pieces ) ðŸ¤. Good storytelling so far.
Ok, I have been on the edge of my seat from episodes 1-4, gosh! I was intrigued by the events going on. I can't wait to watch more and hopefully, it stays good too.
I am just in the 2nd scene of Ep. 1, and OMG! the fight scene with Spider-demon looked so good. I like a good make-up and CGI mix. Of course, Liu Shishi and the other cast members are bad-ass in the scene.
