She is not a cheater. She loved someone else with her whole heart first and is having a hard time moving on because…
Exactly! Most of the comments sounds like children or people who have not been in real actual relationships. Real deep love isnât something you turn on and off like a tap. The SML and the FL had a love that felt so natural and easy. Look at the flashbacks of their relationship. With the ML, sheâs more careful and not her relaxed self who is playful. Memories and emotions that run that deep between FL and SML doesnât just go away (too much history). Even when she thought he was bad, she was still burning for him secretly. Now imagine him being free and the whole perception of him being bad turned out to be a lie. Itâs completely normal for her to behave that way.
I only hope the producers tie up the story and resolve everything properly. They better not take the easy way out and kill one of the characters or make one of them a villain.
The FL is the issue in all of this, she never made it clear to the SML that she has a husband, and even agreed…
No. People find comfort in people who care for them without necessarily loving them (I mean real love). Itâs a childish opinion to think kissing and cuddling only happens between two people who are in love. Itâs the trust she has for him that makes her seek comfort in his arms. You also have to realise that the FL is lonely too. Additionally, people keep telling her to care for ML more, so she was also trying to give him a chance by letting go of SML. Now, SML is not what she thought and sheâs conflicted.
I do believe if she eventually sorts out her emotions, she will realise who she loves intimately the most (she will always love the SML, they grew up as siblings).

You do know she was engaged to the SML and they were even living together. She loved him so much and from the flashbacks, her one and only intimate relationship before the ML. Also, she never loved the ML and her response to him on questions of whether she liked him, has always been â I trust youâ. Even before finding out that the reason she felt hurt my SMLâs actions were a lie, she still loved him (earlier scenes where they crossed paths, you can feel the emotional tension). Now, itâs revealed SML is a hero, of course she feels very torn. All the love she has for SML that she suppressed due to perceived hurt canât be held back by the hurt anymore.
Personally, I think sheâs already also falling in love with her husband, the ML. She just doesnât realise it yet. And that she may even love him now more than the SML.
To me, I think this is a realistic portrayal. If youâve actually been in love, then you will know itâs not something you just stop. If SML stayed bad, it would have been easy for the FL to let go because she will have a reason to make her heart and head rationalise let go.
I need C-dramas to please make their female leads look like what theyâve been through. At least in this show, the male casts look like what theyâve been through. If they are hurt, they look so, if they fall inside water they look it. Unlike the female lead.
Another drama that I had great hopes for but was let completely down. Only good thing for me, was the veteran actors who portrayed their characters with class.
From the first couple of episodes , I already knew that 30 episodes was simply too long for the drama. This contributed to how bad the drama turned out for me.
Then donât get me even started with all the illogical plot lines and scripting of the drama.
Of course classic C-drama pitfall, the try-hard emotional set-up. A good drama should be able to naturally make the audience feel sad and teary easily. You donât force it by trying to put supposed cliches and those sanctimonious monologues (super unnecessary in the last minutes of the show and didnât accomplish its goal). An example of how itâs done from something I just watched simultaneously with this show, is the two episodes before the last episode of the drama, âWhen life gives you Tangerinesâ.
Too long for the scope of the story they wanted to tell and because of that introduced unnecessary drama and somewhat went in circles too. Only to actually tie up the drama in the last few episodes.
I became confused if it was a revenge drama or a finance drama or a love story. Also, the idea of a psychologist stalking and going outside his scope of work with his patient, didnât sit well with me (this was even before they told us he knew her from earlier own). Still, in mental health, that will be very wrong and can even amount to taking advantage of your mental health patient.
This was another issue I had, the metal health theme was not professionally dealt with.
"Dream of Golden Years" is well-executed, for more than 95% of the drama. Why this drama stands out is…
Actually I donât have preferences. I often just pick up any drama and give it a go for a couple of episodes to see if I will like it. Thatâs how I discovered this drama đ.
This show was a really great surprise. I picked it up randomly as I waited for new of Pursuit of Jade, and then I got blown away by how good it was.
Funny thing is that I canât even describe (even now after finishing it) what makes it so good. I just kept coming back to watch new episodes and hooked to the story. It superseded other similar shows (even with more prominent actors ) that I was watching simultaneously with it.
I definitely wouldnât mind a season 2 to see how the couple live their new found lives in the present reality.
Just also found out the FL, is also the FL for the Female General C-Drama. Honestly, I love her here. Detested the way they wrote her character in the Generalâs drama and dropped the drama.
Kudos to all the casts and crew members of this series. You delivered a gem.
I need to hunt for my next C-drama now. Current airing costume dramas are not my cup of tea.
she basically sleeps with the older man. I also donât like this role and dropped this drama for that. it hits…
Having watched and finished the drama, I understand you perfectly now. The show is trash!
They didnât go further to actually explore the topic and just seemed to have just slapped it on. Also, I didnât even know the rich guy even has a family of his own already. They introduced as some older single guy. Meanwhile, he is a married man with a family. Disgusting plot that was just added for the sake of it. They didnât add anything extra to it by the way.
This show really disappointed me. I had great hope for it. But then it seems the screenwriter, producers, and directors are schizophrenic, because why did the last 10 episodes turn into a completely different drama. Jeez! đ
It fell off badly and unnecessary plots were added (plots that were supposed to be used to flesh out what they already had).
Ah! This show! I was giving it the benefit of doubt, but the last last 10 episodes or so feel like Iâm watching a completely different drama. It seems the drama showed the casts entered into the year 2000 and became completely different human beings, and the worse part, no explanation or foundation was provided for this travesty. The show went from youths pursuing their dreams before year 2000 to business drama and suspense, LOL đ. Also, C-dramas need to seriously stop introducing new plot lines in the last/last 2 episodes before a drama actually ends. Thatâs terrible production work, jeeezzzzz!
Also, they magically did away with the pregnancy plot and not even telling us what happened to the so called pregnancy and why they moved to France. You then wonder why they even wrote such a lot line in the first place. Contributed nothing and was just stupid writing.
