The thing is, his character and acting in *Joy of Life* really feels like that of an Emperor. In other dramas, the Emperor is the most useless govt post, just sitting on the throne and knowing nothing.
The heroine undergoes an impossible brain surgery without any bandages on her head or hair loss. The hero gets run over by a car and then shot with a shotgun, but can lead the trial a few days later. The whole drama around memory loss was temporary, and they were bound by fate, born in the same hospital, in the same ward, with both mothers' beds next to each other, separated by a thin cloth. In the Neonatal Unit, their cribs were next to each other (missing part spoiler, available in director's cut). What a beautiful love story.
The Queen's final words: "Life as the queen is extremely hard." And we come to realize, "Life as the king is utterly useless."
The king emerges as the most ineffective, weakest, and poorly written character in the entire series. While everyone else possesses some form of power, the king seems devoid of any. He remains oblivious to the ongoings in his household. The Queen has a full CIA at her disposal, the Queen Dowager is well-informed, ministers and the entire castle are privy to gossip, while the seemingly sage King is isolated, engrossed in solitary contemplation about birds in his room. Until the very end, he was the last person to know what was going on and required someone else to make decisions for him.
The most disappointing character was Lang Hua. Growing up with Bai-Feng Xi, she should have known her the best. However, she was easily swayed by someone when her father went missing, ultimately stabbing Bai-Feng Xi when her father was killed, without even hearing her out. Although Bai-Feng Xi was miraculously saved by the flower, the way Lang Hua was easily forgiven did not feel well-written.
I'm new to this series and have been fast-forwarding to catch up with new episodes, so I might've missed some…
Although the ML desires a simple life, the FL is correct. The scene in Wonderland, where she outlines every move she made and couldn't foresee him surviving, it becomes evident that a peaceful, simple life is not an option for the ML. This became even more clear when his elder brother killed his wife, the servants, and the nanny. The current situation, with both brothers attempting to harm him and the king, further tells the ongoing threats he faces. Additionally, the FL's concern for peace is justified. An 8-year-old boy can't survive and Li Ni can't protect him. Ultimately, if there's a lack of stability in the court, someone is bound to seek power, and the nation will bear the consequences. This raises the question: what was the purpose of all those wars they fought against Sun Jing if the nation is still plagued by internal instability.
I am truly lost. Please help me by answering my questions. Are they still together or are they on a break?
They won't be together until other subplots are resolved, and they won't be separated either. Since it's primarily a romance drama with 40 episodes, the plot will be stretched.
Episode 28 was a very empty episode. I was criticized a lot here when I talked about the mistakes, errors and…
The primary issue I encounter with Chinese and Korean dramas is their tendency to stretch out plots that could be resolved in half the episodes. Chinese dramas, in particular, seem to have an inclination to prolong narratives even further. This problem is something I notice in almost every other drama.
He don't want to leave the kingdom just to his father. First he want to make sure grand grandson become crown…
Court politics, even between brothers, can be quite treacherous. The middle brother plotted to kill Li Ni as soon as he found out about his relationship with Cui Lin. It's difficult to imagine an 8-year-old boy surviving such dynamics, even if his stupid father appoints him as Crown Prince. Cui Lin is right on this.
For those of us who haven't watched it yet, thank you for letting us know. Please let us know the killer also…
I hate spoilers and those who share them. As a lesson learned long ago, I steer clear of forums, Reddit, comment sections, and even show synopses to avoid any chance of spoilers. I read your comment because I've already watched all available episodes; otherwise, I wouldn't risk being here.
It's not a major spoiler; it was bound to happen eventually. However, I recommend staying away from the comments section to avoid any potential surprises.
Episode 19: It seems the fake Cui Lin (Liu Cheng) has been taken by Jeishu. I anticipate his recovery and return as an adversary to Li Ni. The potential for him turning against Cui Lin, thinking she's deceived. The final boss between Cui Lin & Li Ni love story. :)
What do you mean by "real Cui Lin"? Are you referring to the true leader of the army? There has been no mention…
Right. I avoid reading synopses to prevent spoilers. I was waiting the reveal of her true identity and accidentally spoiled it for myself by reading comments. :)
Does he know He is the real cui lin yet? i see people mention she the real cui lin but i dont think its show yet…
What do you mean by "real Cui Lin"? Are you referring to the true leader of the army? There has been no mention of her actual identity or did I missed? My speculation was some kind of princess.
The FL is ruining this series. I'm almost at point where I want ML to move on. You can do better. Apologizing for not believing her is unnecessary, especially when she admitted she would've done the same. Additionally, the ML isn't obligated to save her army and the master, especially after already helping them once and getting backstabbed.
