Feel you π The only thing that keeps my hopes up is that we are still in the first part, so there's no rush…
Now that you said that, I realised I don't know what is the main objective of the plot π€ Like, what are they really aiming at? Because, up until now we only had subplots (at least, in the mortal realm where I was hoping that everything would get clear).
So, what is the main plot of this drama? Resolving the mistery of the Fairy-Demon War or resolving TZ's and YD's romantic relationship? Right now, these things are not so clear π
Oh, and let's not forget TZ's background as the descendand of the Asura Clan π
I see most people here are enjoying the later episodes, am i the only one who was very frustrated? Dont get me…
Feel you π The only thing that keeps my hopes up is that we are still in the first part, so there's no rush (yet π). I did feel frustrated in the recent episodes because of lack of scenes between our main leads, but I think we slowly get in the arc where both TZ and YD get to know and fully accept their feelings for each other. So, yeah, I'm still patient (but not for much longer π ).
Only a heartache? π I really wanted to slap her in the last 2 episodes π I appreciate the fact she can be…
Hmmm, I wasn't reffering to that π€
DFQC doesn't know how to love yet. That's why, his affection might be sincere, but he still has that ruthless character (he started to change only recently). So that's why his love looks like selfish love. (If this is what you were saying)
And XLH, instead of teaching him how to love and how to be kind with her people, she gets upset and doesn't talk with him π€·π»ββοΈ Oh, yes, and also hides things from him instead of sorting things out.
I will be spamming the comments for a while. I won't shut up about this drama for a while. I am going crazy over…
Only a heartache? π I really wanted to slap her in the last 2 episodes π I appreciate the fact she can be smart and thoughtful, but this time she was also stupid and stubborn af π
If I don't write something about this drama I think I won't be able to get over my obsession about it, lol :))))
I'm still stuck in the beginning of ep 13 >_< I think that was a major turning point in XLH's relationship with DFQC. And there were two big points in that.
1. The questions DFQC asked CH and CH's pathetic answer. XLH may love her country and CH, but she was already betrayed by both. And maybe she wanted to return there out of loyalty and kindness, but she needed the guarantee that she won't be harmed when she returns. And DFQC asked for that guarantee in her place. I think his questions opened XLH's eyes. She understood - even a little - that he cares for her, or at least he knows what she needs. And then came that coward answer from CH. Yes, I know that he is the god of war and he has lots of responsibilities and so on. But that showed XLH that she is not his priority and she may never be.
2. DFQC being on verge of death. XLH may not agree with his cruel and ruthless behaviour and ruling, but she also knows that in essence he is not a bad person. After all, she saw many faces of him and she knows he is quite a responsible ruler. He also protected her when no one did and he wasn't afraid to defy everyone in the realm of gods just for her. Besides, she is too kind to just sit there and watch somebody die in front of her. That's why she took the risk to forsake CH and his complicated plan to save her and choose DFQC instead.
And DFQC... I think he is one of the sweetest pieces of cake I've ever seen :))))))) The way he kissed her back after the body swap was awesome af >_< !!!! He was like, "I may not be able to hurt you physically, but I CAN hurt you emotionally. So Take that!". Ahd his "she is mine" glare was beyond description :))))))
I can't see him as a bad person at all. And I can't blame him for what he did in the past. Maybe, from an objective POV, he may look like a mass murderer, but that wasn't his fault and he also did not have much of a choice. He was deprived by emotions by his father when he was still very young. And then continued to live in an environment full of violence. Plus, you can't tell me that everyone in the realm of gods is a saint. Rong Hao described them as hypocrites and I think he's right. So, when you are an emotionless ruler, brought up in an evil environment and you have to face a country full of hypocrites, what would you do? Honestly, I will do exactly the same as DFQC.
So this is his starting point. The problem is what would he do after he meets XLH. If he still doesn't change, he is an evil jerk. But if he does change in good, that proves he was never a bad person.
I like that - as in XLH's case and her reasons to approach and choose DFQC over CH - there are some triggers in DFQC's story, too. And those are the moments when XLH proves him that emotions are benefic and not bad at all. If I remember correctly, there are two such moments: 1. During XLH's exam and how the fairies escaped because they were united out of pity, compassion etc. XLH proved him that compassion and self-sacrifice are not bad. 2. During the last body swap when she proved him that trusting Shangque was a good thing and his loyalty for him was sincere.
So basically, only now DFQC starts to learn how to live his life and how to feel emotions.
I really can't wait to see how they get closer to each other and especially how XLH accepts to work for him (it's high time she should have done that ^^*).
Apparently itson iqiyi and iqiyi post them on youtube only after they have aired the episodes which makes no senseπ
Oh, so that wasn't my "fault" ^^* I've tried to search the previews on YT and didn't find the ones for ep 15-16, so I thought I lacked searching abilities :))))))
LBY is totally aware that Ling Yi (his uncle) is not his real father. It's Ling Yi that doesn't know LBY is not…
Now that's why one should watch the drama AND read the original work, too :)))) Because even though the adaptation may be good in its own way, in the same time both have their own uniqueness which is worth watching/reading.
Btw, I didn't think P1 had "much" angst. Everything felt very well balanced for me :) And I really appreciated that. I mean, some dose of angst is necessary and it had the right amount of it ^_^

If that's how it is in the novel, I'm glad the director chose to cut the angst π But maybe that is a matter of preference π€·π»ββοΈ I am not pro too much angst and dragging useless conflicts. So for me it is a good thing that CSS had that introspection now and not later.

Yeah, I've read here that the epilogue with them having kids was written some years after the end of the novel π So we are not sure if the drama includes that part or not π
I definitely need more CSS and LBY.. I was expecting something after she drunk .. got nothingβ¦π«
I think everything develops in a normal way. I mean, CSS doesn't know how to love and has a distorted image about love. LBY doesn't know how to fit in because up until now he was antisocial. So, what can you get from here? ^^* The good part tho is that they want to reach a middle way. And I think that is quite sweet. The fight in the ep 27 was necessary. Otherwise, the development wouldn't have been as good as it is now :) (that's what I think ^^* I mean, we appreciate more the moments they have in ep 28 and after that BECAUSE there was that fight in ep 27).
Isn't it WL mother talked about she can become Empress previously?
Thank you for confirming my unspoken theory :)))))) Up until now I couldn't find evidence that she was pretending, but my guts told me so :))) I was 200% sure she was faking it. Can't wait for the truth to come out ;)

That is if I guessed correctly the hints from the official video π
